{There is bit of an info-dump. I had to finish saying how the academy works. Otherwise it will become a headache to explain them again and again when I'm mentioning something.}
Even Alex was surprised to see a person appear out of nowhere, especially with such a nonchalant attitude.
Just a few seconds later, the green glow dissipated as if it had never been there. She had the resemblance of an elf but was not quite the same.
From what Alex could see, the appearance of elves and dryads is similar. He guessed it might have something to do with them being intertwined with nature.
But Alex had to admit that she was quite beautiful. No objections will be tolerated. Furthermore, she emitted a gentle and soothing aura.
Without further ado, Alex used [[[Analysis]]] on her.

# Olivia Verna #
{+} Ability - [[[Plant Portal Creation]]]
- [[[Leaf Projection]]]
=================================================================
According to the information he got, [[[Plant Portal Creation]]] gives her the ability to create portals out of plants and plant materials. In this case, the wooden floor. The downside is that this ability becomes very limited in areas where plants are scarce. Nevertheless, it is a very convenient ability.
On the other hand, [[[Leaf Projection]]] is an offensive skill based on plant leaves. It gives the user the ability to produce and launch sharpened leaves. This is to say, if someone fights her in a forest, that person would be in deep trouble as she could take advantage of both abilities simultaneously.
"Good morning, teacher."
Since it was becoming increasingly awkward, Alex stood up and greeted her with a bow.
This made everyone wake up from their stupor. They all stood and greeted Olivia, following Alex without delay.
"You can call me Mrs. Olivia from now on."
Olivia said with an amused smile, watching their reactions.
After that, everyone sat down again and took out their books and other utensils. Every student was excited to learn more about their force, as their bond with them directly correlates to the power they hold. In other words, their capacity.
Not everyone had a sentient being comparable to Alpha as a force. Alex didn't need to bother much with deepening the bond with his force. Alpha already had a personality. Therefore, he could interact with Alpha freely. In contrast, others had to develop their forces from scratch, shaping them step by step. It is a very time-consuming process and needs thorough guidance.
Treasures that boost cognition can give a helping hand in this process, of course. But they are extremely rare and pricey. Aside from the royals, even the nobles have difficulty bearing such a cost.
"Now, take a seat. Let's start the class."
"First question; could someone define what force is?"
Viessa stood up elegantly and said, "It is a power that exists in nature with a certain level of sentience. The forces can also bind with organisms to grant them various abilities."
"That is indeed correct. To be precise, they bind with our souls. Thus, it's not just a simple physical connection. Before we get deeper into the subject, shall we introduce ourselves to everyone?"
It took a while for all of them to introduce themselves. You could sense a prideful voice from all the royals, while others had more of a humble tone. Alex could see Mrs. Olivia looking at Clara intently throughout the time she was introducing herself. Clara struggled to deal with all the attention, but she somehow got through.
Olivia went towards the writing board and started speaking;
"Students, since you are new to our establishment, listen to the information I will give you now with attention.
First, you should understand that your positions outside the academy will not matter here. Everything inside should be earned on merit.
There are many methods to earn merits. Some of them are helping teachers with experiments, cleaning the school, getting good results in class, and accepting tasks issued by the university regarding various issues outside it.
You cannot accept those tasks outside the school during the first three months. All of the others are doable. More importantly, the merit points can't be shared. This rule was brought forward due to some issues during the school start years. "
"What is the use of merits, Mrs. Olivia?" Reiko stood up and asked.
"Well, the answer to your question would be everything. The things you can buy range from food to the most expensive items you've ever known. You need massive amounts of merits to buy such a costly item. So it's far away from you all right now.
That leads me to the second point I was making. Each of you will get a set amount of monthly merits for your usage provided by the school. You can see that the university has already deposited the monthly allowance into your student identification card.
Although you could share something simple as food with each other, I strongly suggest using your merit points wisely, as they are the only currency inside the academy."
After an hour or so, Olivia finished answering all the students' questions. Most of them were basic questions. She decided it was better to distribute leaflets containing that information after some time because it would take so long for her to explain them individually. Some essential points she talked about were school term-end assignments and contests.
At the end of every term, an assignment will be followed by a contest. The assignment comprises papers common to everyone in the grade and another depending on their respective force types. That's just the good old tedious school exams.
The most exciting one to take note of is the competition. The competition is divided into two areas. Specifically, the versatility and combat strength section.
Those with forces that aren't compatible with combat can participate in the versatility section, such as healing, blacksmithing, construction, etc. In the case of the combat section, you guessed it: fighting with superpowers. Great prices are also awarded in the competition to encourage students.
Olivia also told them that if their individual performance was not up to standard, they would be demoted to the regular classes and explained about it for a while.
"Now that the serious talks are over, I hope you all work hard and be proud students of our academy. The class is dismissed"
After delivering such a long speech, Olivia was very bored. So as soon as the work was done, she said her greeting and disappeared into the wooden floor.
"Than-- "
Alex had a wry smile seeing how she left like they were infected with something lethal. She didn't even wait for them to say 'thank you, Mrs. Olivia." He was not alone in that thought.
"She didn't even stay for a minute for us to say a simple thanks."
Clara said to Alex while pouting.
"Maybe that's because she saw your face at the end of her speech."
"Pfft"
"haha"
Several laughs could be heard around the classroom after Alex's remark. The one who laughed the loudest was Rurgit, next to Alex. Even Esther couldn't hold her laughter. She tried to suppress her laugh by covering her mouth, failing miserably.
Now Clara was embarrassed beyond the limit. She was like a red tomato.
"Youuuuuu!!!"
She quickly raised her arm and put Alex in a headlock. Alex couldn't escape her lock as her strength went up a notch after awakening. So Alex ceased his struggle only to get a wicked idea. He started rubbing his head on her plentiful assets. Others couldn't see it clearly, but Clara could tell what Alex was doing, being the victim of his acts.
Left with no choice, she let Alex go with an angry face, determined to make him pay back.
"I'm sorry, Clara. Won't you forgive me?"
"Hmph, I'll deal with you later."
She whispered in a low voice.
"Alright, alright now. Shall we get going now?"
Esther decided to break off their yet-to-be lovers' drama.
"Good idea. Thank you Esther."
Taking the chance, Alex stood up with his backpack and started his escape from the lioness.
Clara also hurriedly followed Alex to catch him, while Esther and Rurgit decided not to join them for obvious reasons. Esther had a bit of a red face as she saw what Alex did. She was not the only one. If someone looked closely, they could tell Elevn princess Viessa also had a flushed face since she saw it even more precise than Esther because of her [[[Telescopic Vision]]] ability. Also, in exceptional detail.
