Chereads / FiveHead Monster: Primordial Beast Of Chaos / Chapter 19 - Titanomachy VII

Chapter 19 - Titanomachy VII

" Ugh! Impertinent!- " Kronos was about to rant, but held himself back just in time. Pulling his head back, he narrowly avoids a Chaos infused tail swipe to the neck. The long, thorny whip-like tail retracted and was seen poised above the beast, like a scorpion.

" Cheap! " He yelled.

" Loud! " They chorused back.

" No more playing! Meet your fate! " Kronos declares, scythe raised high. With a heavy swing, thousands and thousands of flying discs of empowered wind flew toward the beast. They flew faster than Atlas could charge! The Hydra widened their eyes cautiously. Within the blink of an eye and a well timed breathy blast of Chaos, almost all of the soaring projectiles were obliterated out of existence.

" Tch! " The King expressed his displeasure, seeing that projectiles were useless. Raising his scythe once more, he rushes forward! Like a juggernaut with death in his hands, he was in front of them within seconds, empowered by his domain of Time.

They reacted immediately. To counter, five heads bit down on the weapon and figure, effectively stopping his mad charge. However, as one of the heads bit on the blade, keen on breaking it, the head suddenly disintegrated into fine particles of dust!

" Brainless snake! You cannot destroy the weapon that beheaded the Sky himself! " Kronos sneered, taking this opportunity to free one of his hands and maul one of the heads to mush.

Two heads down, the Hydra still did not relent, and fired a poison breath point blank.

" AAHHHHH! " He screamed in agony, the raging mist of acid melting his skin and seeping into his magical reserves. With a devastating punch, he pushed the beast off of him.

Taking a moment to look at himself, he raised a hand to his chest and channeled his divinity. The Hydra could feel it, their poison had been frozen completely within Kronos' body, rendering it useless. Usually their poison would mess with divinity and infect it with their superior energy, but it seemed they needed a higher dosage. At this rate, a war of attrition would no longer be an option.

" Impressive. But this won't be enough to fell MY pantheon beast! " Kronos said proudly, raising his weapon once more. They both charged once more, but this time Kronos had enhanced himself with Time. They clashed fiercely, an onslaught of teeth and edge from each side.

The difference however, the Hydra could not hit Kronos. With each lunge, or bite, or tail swipe, he avoided. Slightly tilting his body just enough to dodge, every single time! And what's more, he always successfully countered.

The Hydra twisted it's languid body, crawling on the cratered ground. A bite to the neck, stomach, shoulder, heel and face. Surrounding and spreading out around Kronos so he couldn't escape. Yet, with just a single calculated sidestep, all five heads bit at nothing.

" Ironic isn't it? For a Titan King like me to rule over time, yet I cannot see my own fate. " Kronos lamented as he sensed the inquisitive gazes.

" Must. Be. Because. You. Are. Having. Difficulty. Of. The. Skill. Variety. No? " The Hydra mocked incessantly, trying to find a counter to the King's foresight. Recalling one ability that might work, they lunged forward like a hungry predator once more.

" Didn't you understand what I said? Attacks like this are USELESS! " Kronos sneered arrogantly. Accessing his divinity, he looked into the future once more, until he saw... nothing? Wait... why can't he see anything? He thought bewildered. Unfortunately, he was distracted for too long, and wasn't able to dodge the maws of the beast.

" AHhHHhhh... " He yelled in agony, taking on a hundred jaws of empowered teeth all at once! Indeed, they had coated their whole physical being in Chaos. Therefore manifesting Chaos as a mysterious body enchantment that obscured their movements from the eyes of time and certainty.

Chaos was a peculiar thing, it operated outside the bounds of time and space. So something of this caliber was only natural. To aide this attack, they split their five heads into hundreds all at once. Imagine, a storm of baleful heads, each moving in such a way that it was impossible to predict, or dodge. A exhaustive and energy wasting attack, but a necessary one.

They wrestled and wrestled. Wounds and scratches appeared, only barely slowed by time as to reduce injuries. Kronos was getting desperate, and so he activated his most versatile ability. Suddenly, time froze and with it, the rabid amount of attacks from that beast. The swathes of dust kicked up by the assault suspended in the air. Seizing the chance, he hurled his fist forward, hitting the Hydra squarely in the chest.

Time flowed once again, and the Hydra fell backwards, propelled by the punch. Seeing how he had space once more, Kronos sighed in relief. But-

" Ah! AAAHH! Curses! " From his chest, a giant bolt of golden lightning impaled his being. Indeed, the Olympians had joined the fray once more.

--- Awhile ago ---

Zeus and his siblings watched as the Hydra competed against the Mad King Kronos. And what's more? Directly after having defeated his General, the one and only Atlas famed for his strength and endurance among the Gods!

" This is insane! " Poseidon exclaimed weakly.

" Thank the stars it is on our side. " Demeter muttered fearfully, staring at the malevolent poison the beast naturally emitted.

" No... This is supposed to be our fight to win! How can we just let our reinforcement take all the glory for themselves? Come siblings, we must fight once more! " Zeus rallied the Olympians, eyes blazing in golden arcs of lightning.

And so, they rejoined the fight once more. Poseidon, Hera, Demeter and their allies had decided to hold back the remaining Titans. Where was Hades you ask? Invisible as usual.

And so, waiting for an opening, Zeus waited.

--- Back to present ---

" Who goes there?! Oh, it's you... son. " Kronos spat hatefully.

" I am no son of yours! " Zeus replied mercilessly.

" Come to die, have we? I was waiting for a chance like this in forever! " The King started to approach the godling, when a painful, painful reminder hit him.

The Hydra had recovered, and bit him in the back with the same familiar ability.

And so, all hell broke loose once more. Zeus was striking the colossal tyrant every chance he got, whittling him down bolt by bolt. While the Hydra distracted him with bites and claws.

Kronos, to counteract this onslaught, employed his time freezing skill every chance he got, providing openings for hinself from thin air. In order to fight back the undecipherable attacks of the beast, he channeled his domain and empowered his beheading scythe. With each swing, a head fell and attacks were mitigated. How you ask? Through time, Kronos was able to hit the Hydra with strikes from the recent past, directly countering that foul ability.

Kronos calculated every hit, he foresaw attacks from Zeus, and sent an attack into the future the intercept it while simultaneously swinging his scythe into the past, and cutting off heads and limbs.

An anomalous fighting style, never before seen. It was like Kronos had weaponized the eternal river of Time itself.

Although draining, both of the King's enemies were gaining no ground at all.

The Hydra, seeing that Kronos had stopped holding back, decided it was 'time' to show this fake King where exactly he stood in the food pyramid.
