Chapter 198 - Chapter 198: Determination

Kumoi Gyokaku, as a retainer of the Kasumioji family, he had lived for many years. It's also due to his relationship with the Kasumioji family that he had some understanding of the strength possessed by the Head-captain Yamamoto Genryusai, so he advised Amagai to be careful.

Of course, it doesn't matter to him whether Amagai was dead or not. What he really cared about is whether he can get rid of Rurichiyo and be regarded as the real master of the Kasumioji family.

Even if Amagai really wanted to challenge the head-captain and seek death, he would have to wait until he became the master of Kasumioji family.

Amagai didn't care about Kumoi Gyokaku's advice at all.

After learning the real truth and some more details from Kumoi Gyokaku's mouth, he had a surging killing intent in his heart, wanting to kill Kumoi Gyokaku in front of him right then and there, but in the end, he restrained himself forcefully.

After all, this was just Kumoi Gyokaku's one-sided statement. Even though it had no loopholes and may be the whole reality of that incident, but Amagai wanted to hear what the head-captain had to say about it, and he could reach to an answer only after he obtained the stories of the two sides of the same incident.

Immediately after that, he left Kumoi Gyokaku.

Kumoi Gyokaku was a little confused as he couldn't figure it out why did Amagai came to him at late night just to ask such an unknown and sudden question?

Back to the Fifth Division.

There was still some time before dawn, but Amagai couldn't sleep in any way.

Kumoi Gyokaku's words echoed in his ears from time to time, together with the story Mazuru told during the day.

Actually, the truth was already very clear.

Back then, the Kasumioji family secretly manufactured the Bakkōtō, a prohibited weapon. After being discovered by the head-captain, the head-captain wanted to investigate the Kasumioji family, but because of the obstruction of Central 46, he could not investigate them openly. Then his disciple Kisaragi Shin'etsu volunteered to sneak into the Kasumioji house and find evidence, but was discovered by the family of Kasumioji and was forcefully equipped with a Bakkōtō. In order to stop his disciple who had lost his mind due to the effect of Bakkōtō, Yamamoto had no choice but to kill him.

However, though that's easy to piece together.

Amagai still had a hard time accepting this reality.

If this was the reality, the truth, then what did he pursued in all these past years?

He always thought Yamamoto was the murderer of his father, and thus he had been working hard for revenge since he was very young. Now, seeing the situation where things were going according to his plan step by step, he was only one step away from completing revenge.

But at this time, someone suddenly told him that his previous persistence was all for a false cause, and what he saw and knew was not the truth at all.

He was shattered by the reality and was on the verge of being broken.

In a blink of an eye, it was dawn.

Amagai got up early in the morning but instead of doing his usual good deeds, he went to the Third Division.

In the Third Division, Mazuru was a little drowsy because Amagai woke him up early. He yawned, and he looked at Amagai and said, "It can be seen that you didn't rest well last night, are you okay?"

Amagai didn't answer Mazuru's question, instead he said to Mazuru, "Your story yesterday was very good. After I went back, I kept thinking about this story in my mind."

"Oh?" Mazuru looked at Amagai curiously.

Amagai continued, "If, I mean if, if the person named Kisaragi Shin'etsu in your story had a child, and his child, because he didn't know the secrets about that incident, just happened to see his father being killed… killed by head-captain Yamamoto, what do you think he will choose to do?"

"Of course he will choose to take revenge on the head-captain, what else can he do?" Mazuru responded without even taking any time to think.

Amagai frowned, and asked again, "What if this child learned the truth just before he was about to take revenge?"

"Naturally, he must first determine whether this so-called truth was actually true or not."

"What if it's true?"

Amagai looked at Mazuru, he actually didn't understand why he chose to find Mazuru, maybe it was because that Mazuru was the one who told him the reality of that year, or maybe it was because he subconsciously thought he could get the answer from Mazuru.

"If it's true, of course he would first kill the real murderers who murdered his father, such as the people from Kasumioji family, and then go to Head-captain Yamamoto, because as far as that child is concerned, after all, Head-captain Yamamoto is indeed the person who ended his father's life with his own hands."

"Of course, after meeting Head-captain Yamamoto, whether to continue to take revenge him or choose to forgive him depends on what the child thinks."

Amagai fell silent. Although he only chatted with Mazuru for a few words, and Mazuru didn't give an exact answer, he had already made a decision in his heart.

In any case, he decided to meet the head-captain first.

Amagai bowed to Mazuru, "Thank you Captain Mazuru!"

Mazuru took a deep look at Amagai, but said nothing.

Amagai left the Third Division and returned to the Fifth Division. He first made many preparations, and then went to the First Division.

In the First Division, the head-captain was sitting behind his desk dealing with team affair documents.

Even though some of those things could be handed over to the vice-captain, over the years, he had gotten used to doing it by himself.

"Captain, Captain Shusuke Amagai has requested to have an audience with you."

The vice-captain of First Division, Chojiro Sasakibe, approached and said to Yamamoto.

Yamamoto put down the pen in his hand, looked at Chojiro and said, "Bring him in."

"Yes!"

Chojiro went out, and soon Amagai was brought in.

"Good morning Captain!"

Amagai greeted Yamamoto.

Yamamoto nodded and asked Amagai, "Captain Shusuke, what is the matter for you to be looking for me?"

"Captain, I want to ask if the captain had heard of a certain person." Amagai asked.

"Who?" Captain Yamamoto said calmly.

"Kisaragi Shin'etsu."

When Yamamoto heard this familiar name after so many years, even he couldn't help but being stunned for a while, and then he responded, "He is one of my disciples."

"I heard that he died at the hands of the head-captain?" Amagai asked.

Captain Yamamoto's expression showed a hint of complexity, but he didn't hide it, "It's true."

"I understand, then…"

Amagai took a deep breath, and then pulled out his Zanpakuto in front of the head-captain.

"Captain, please enlighten me."

A huge amount of reiatsu was released from Amagai's body, accompanied by his fighting spirit.

"Captain Shusuke, what do you mean by this?" Yamamoto was a little surprised by Amagai's sudden urge to fight.

Amagai replied lightly, "I would like to ask the captain to give me some pointers first, as for the explanation, I will explain to the captain after that."

Yamamoto raised his brows slightly. Facing Amagai's challenge, he finally accepted it.

"Then let's change the venue."

Then, the two came to the training ground of the First Division.

Yamamoto also pulled out his Zanpakuto.

"All Things in the Universe, Turn to Ashes!"

"Ryūjin Jakka!"

A huge amount of raging flame suddenly erupted.
