UTILIZING VIRTUAL, AUGMENTED REALITY/CARTOGRAPHY AND SMART CITIES TO SIMULATE TRAVEL (BY TELEPORTATION/HOLOGRAMS)
(Lolz, it's not really teleportation though).
The concept begins with designing realtime maps of various cities via camera technology and generating Virtual Representations of the city that factors in Realtime activities occurring in the City.
The next step is converting the Realtime Map of the city (A Real City) into a Virtual City via Virtual Reality Software.
The third step is to find a way to overlay a person in a different location into the city via Virtual Reality software that allows them to interact with the city Virtually as they would in the Real/Physical World.
This implies that people now become able to travel and explore Real Places through Virtual Reality without ever actually leaving their present locations. The Virtual City utilizes cameras to record activities in Real Cities on a Realtime basis so exploring the Virtual City is in a way the same as exploring the Real City.
The entire Realtime of the city is mapped unto the Virtual City so the Real and Virtual City parallel each other.
If one could generate holograms of a person exploring the Virtual City in the Real City, then Virtual Images of a person could be projected into the Real City so that the presence of a person exploring the Virtual City would be felt in the Real City, and their actions in the Virtual City will parallel that of their holograms in the Real City.
A whole new travel industry could be formed around this concept.
For the purposes of motion or walking about, a sort of omnidirectional treadmill system could be implemented to allow the person to explore the city by walking on the Omnidirectional Treadmill without actually moving.
