Chereads / Rise of Untold Powers / Chapter 9 - Spirit Gateway

Chapter 9 - Spirit Gateway

While O'Glous and Veron—who is known to be Zoltar, the Oculus Gate Guardian of Spirits—were fighting in the deleterious battleground near the heart of the base, Cire went flying in search of the Prismatic Artifact that Veron and the Commander had ordered him to destroy…! Moments later, Cire found a room that was blocked by somewhat of a Gateway that was made out of unknown substances and materials which are said to be otherworldly and not of the world that Cire came from.

Cire: Interesting. If I have no clue of what this Gateway is materialized from, than how am I supposed to get inside the room where the Prismatic Artifact is stored?

*Kaboom*

*Screech*

Cire: Oh, come on! I feel despondency running through my veins. I have literally tried everything I could think of, and nothing worked on this damn Paragon of Defence wannabe Gateway! Give me a break and rain down clues of how I can go through this!

*Boom*

Cire: Veron's fight is coming to an end, I should hurry up! But what can I do? I have nothing to think of…! Hold up…Gravity is a fundamental force of nature, that much I know. I also know that gravity is not a physical object so it's able to pass through things! If I were able to create a layer or aura of gravity surrounding my body, it can ultimately help condense my body to the point of concentration my body needs to be able to traverse through the Gateway both externally and internally! I have to be mindful not to overexert my energy, but I'll need it if I am to reach my destination on time! Here goes nothing!!

*Tzzz, Btzz*

System: Error!

Cire: Again!

*Btzz*…

*Foom*

Cire: Yes I did it!

With a surge of power, Cire successfully created the gravitational aura around his body, feeling the force concentrate and encompass him with a hum of energy strong enough to allow him to traverse into the other borders of the Gateway

Unknown to Cire, as he navigated through the borders of the Gateway, a shimmering entity watched him with immense curiosity and intrigue. However, Cire was not cautious enough to realize that something is lurking deep in the shadows watching him from afar.

*Tsh*

*Btzzz*

Cire: Huh? I see glowing light rays and a surge of energy coming from that door…I think it might be what am looking for!

Cire paced even further and ran towards the door. As he got closer, the energy intensified, and Cire began to feel an anonymous sensation shiver down his spine. Cire looked around at his surroundings and began to see some type of ineffable dark fog spiralling on the ground. Cire debated in his head whether to go and see what it is or to get the Prismatic Artifact. After a paced long debate in his head, Cire knew that the dark fog is something potentially dangerous, however, he also knew that prattling and being succumbed by his deep thoughts will not do anything to help him and thus decided to get the Prismatic Artifact.

*Btzz*

Cire: Argh! This is hard to pull out! *Grunts*

*Byzz*

Cire: Agh!!

*Tshoo*

Cire: Finally! I did it!

*Kaboom, Kaboom, Kaboom*

*Crackling*

*Crumble*

Cire: Whoa! I better get outta' here Everything is coming down!

As debris rained down around him, Cire sprinted towards the exit, dodging falling chunks of stone and avoiding collapsing pillars. Cire finally reached a safe distance from the entrance of the base and started condensing and inverting the Prismatic Artifact hoping to break and destroy it in the process.

*Boom*

Cire: Argh! Here we go again! Cadere!

*Blast, Boom!*

*Kaboom*

*Ting*

Cire: Agh! My ears…! Anyhow! It's finally destroyed. Veron should be destroyed and the other troops roaming the reigns would be able to sustain life without having any disturbances with their energy flow.

*Voom*

Cire: Yes…! I can finally return home!

Calvis: Attention! You are being teleported to your original timeline with a different date! Would you like to proceed!

Cire: Huh?! What does that mean Calvis?!

Calvis: You are being teleported back to your world…! However, it seems like many years, no, decades sense you left!

Cire: What!? How is that possible?! Why..!

Calvis: This is due to the location this dimension is in.

Cire: Dimension?! Well…isn't there a way to reverse it? I need to go back to my original date of time!

Calvis: I'm afraid it's not that simple, Cire. Replacing and switching between time displacements is not in our capabilities yet.

Cire: Dang it!!…So what other options do I have?! I can't stay here!

System: Attention..! You have gained a mysterious, yet suspicious magical item…

Cire: Huh? Calvis, open status window!

Cire: Calvis! Open description!

Calvis: Apologies…This item has no description!

Cire: Huh?! That's possible?!

Calvis: It appears so, Cire. The Purple Box seems to be an enigmatic item, possessing traits or abilities that defy conventional comprehension. I believe that this item is not of the origin you came from, nor does it have a current purpose…

Cire: I see…!

Cire: Calvis! Open the box!

Calvis: As you please…Opening the purple box in 3, 2, 1, 0!

*Fshoo*

*Voom*

The purple box suddenly blossomed and dismantled each part of it and consumed the entirety of the remaining world of space around Cire until it was left blank. Cire went unconscious and had suddenly woke up in front of the Northern Pyramid Gateway.

Confused and disoriented, Cire took a moment to gather his thoughts and assess his surroundings. He made sure that he was still alive and breathing in the space he knows and calls his origin.

Cire: I see…so the box did work

System: Danger! Attention! Incoming information without an origin is being transmitted to your brain!

Cire: Wha-!

*Tzk*

*Foo*

Cire: H-Huh!? Agg-! W-What..is this!? Hel-p!? Gah!

Cire continued screaming in anguish and started clutching his head as excruciatingly painful and loud noises and information was surging through his brain. Cire began to widen his eyes in shock and terror.

Cire: I- I understand now…! I understand everything about the Northern Pyramid Gateway!! How is that possible! This is disgusting! No-No don't do it! Please no! Argh!

Cire continued screaming like a mad man talking to his thoughts and unable to comprehend everything he has seen inside his head. Cire certainly has been succumbed by thoughts and dreadful emotions of past, present, and future events that left him in shock and agony for 6 months.

Cire continued to suffer alone in-front of the Gateway with no one to help nor anyone to hear his war cry. It was almost like an offering to the Gateway. Information for his soul! As Cire's desperate pleas echoed through the barren landscape, an eerie silence enveloped the Northern Pyramid Gateway. Cire then suddenly heard a response from the depths of the Gateway telling him to overcome! The voice, although faint, resonated with a power that Cire had never experienced before. This godlike otherworldly power was somehow familiar to Cire. And so, Cire was fixated on the sound and view in front of him that he gathered his last bit of strength left to hold himself together and walk towards the Gateway to investigate. The truth is…the swarthy, tumultuous and violent presence of the entity would leave anyone in trepidation. However, for a person such as Cire who is incensed and has already adapted to its darkness, he would feel nothing but familiarity. In that moment, his Impetuous decision caused Cire to walk towards darkness while seeing memories of the past, present and future in every heart beat and step he takes in life.

*Thmp*

*Thmp*

Cire: What is this feeling? *Thmp!*

Cire: I see now…To overcome this darkness of mine…I must live to take in everyone's…

In this moment…Darkness has entered Cire's body and using it as his house of sleep. Cire's darkness took refugee inside him and it awaits the moment of its awakening. Now, Cire is forced to consume others' darkness whenever his darkness has been awakened. Cire finds himself caught in a never-ending cycle of seeking out and consuming darkness, unable to escape its grasp. Untold powers fester within Cire, growing stronger with each sip of darkness he ingests. As the darkness within Cire grows more powerful, whispers begin to fill his mind, secrets unknown to the mortal realm. The capabilities that the entity possessed…we do not know. The things that Cire psychologically went through…we do not know.

Now as Cire began losing his sanity whilst consuming every drop of darkness that falls on the abyss like pit…He realizes that deep inside his mind, there's a voice tingling and whispering to him that this is not his true self…And so, after many days of searching through his inner self, Cire decided to seal this mysterious entity in a place far, far, faraway where no one can reach it….For he knew that the things he has seen shall not be poured down into the mortal world as a norm of information and chaotic catastrophes, instead, it should be kept away from it until some chosen few have ascended to a level of understanding.

Cire: I must find my way back home!

Furthermore, after many months of flying through the clouds and the harsh conditions, Cire has finally found his way back home to a place that looks nothing like how he left it. It's now more advanced, it's bigger, louder, and much more crowded. Cire tried looking for the little orphanage he used to live and work in. However, he has discovered that it was renovated and relocated and is now one of the biggest Orphanages around…Although his happy, his also worried of what will happen if anything from what he experienced was to be released into this peaceful world that he wants to maintain.

Now, Cire decides to head back to the Headquarters to report about his survival to Lester

Lester: Cire! Welcome…Please feel free to sit down. I haven't seen you in 2 years…

Cire: So it's only been two years huh?

Cire: -In his head- I must've spent 6 months getting there and around 6 month in this time to complete the whole Northern Pyramid. Then I wasted 6 months because of the dark entity, and another 6 months to travel back here, which totals to 2 years approximately….

Lester: I knew you could do it! But in a span of a year? That's imp-

Cire: 6 Months….

Lester: Huh? Was it that easy?! Then why weren't you back 6 months prior to today? Were you lost?

Cire: You can say something like that I suppose…Anyhow, I believe, no, I know am ready to go to fight whomever I am sent to fight

Lester: Great! The raid will start in 3 years, I recommend you get your rank and whatever you need higher because you will need it!

Cire: Will do…
