Chapter 38 - Chapter 37: The Weeping Bride

It was the summer of 1950 in Kyoto, Japan, and the Good Hills High School was abuzz with preparations for the upcoming wedding of one of its own students. The bride-to-be, a beautiful and popular girl named Emiko, was set to marry her high school sweetheart, a young man from a neighboring school. The wedding was to take place in the school's chapel, and the entire school was invited to attend the ceremony.

The day of the wedding arrived, and the chapel was packed with students, teachers, and guests. Emiko looked stunning in her white wedding gown, and her groom was beaming with pride. The ceremony went off without a hitch, and everyone in attendance was filled with joy and happiness for the young couple.

After the ceremony, a grand reception was held in the school's auditorium, and everyone celebrated into the late hours of the night. However, as the night wore on, something strange began to happen. The joyful atmosphere was suddenly shattered by a blood-curdling scream that echoed through the halls of the school.

Everyone rushed to the source of the sound, and there they found Emiko lying lifeless on the floor of the chapel, her white wedding dress stained red with blood. It was clear that she had been murdered, and the killer was nowhere to be found.

The shock and horror of Emiko's murder hung over the school for months, and the police investigation yielded no leads. However, as the first anniversary of Emiko's death approached, something even stranger began to happen. On the night of her death, the sound of a woman weeping could be heard coming from the chapel, and the male teachers of the school began to report strange occurrences.

They claimed that they would hear Emiko's voice in their dreams, pleading with them to marry her and promising to make them happy for the rest of their lives. Some even reported seeing her ghostly figure in the halls of the school, still wearing her bloodstained wedding dress.

The legend of the Bride Ghost of Good Hills High School began to spread throughout Kyoto, and many people began to fear the school and the spirit that haunted it. Some male teachers left their jobs out of fear, and many others refused to come to work on the anniversary of Emiko's death.

It was said that the only way to exorcise the ghost of Emiko was for a man to marry her and promise that he would never cheat on her. However, finding a man brave enough to take on such a task was no easy feat.

Many men came forward, claiming that they were not afraid and that they would marry Emiko. However, as soon as they learned the conditions of the marriage, they would run away, never to be seen again. The fear of the ghostly bride was too much for them to handle.

Years went by, and the legend of the Bride Ghost of Good Hills High School continued to haunt the school and the people of Kyoto. However, one day, a new male teacher arrived at the school, and he was not like the others. His name was Taro, and he was a brave and fearless man who was determined to put an end to the legend once and for all.

Taro had heard the stories of the Bride Ghost, but he did not believe in ghosts. He believed that there was a rational explanation for everything, and he was determined to find it. He began to research the history of the school and the murder of Emiko, and he discovered something that no one else had thought of.

As it turned out, Emiko's murderer had never been caught, and there was a possibility that he was still alive and living in Kyoto. Taro believed that if they could find the killer and bring him to justice, the spirit of Emiko would finally be

able to rest in peace.

Taro spent months investigating the murder, poring over old police reports and interviewing witnesses who were still alive. Finally, he found a lead. A man who had been a suspect in the original investigation had recently returned to Kyoto after many years away, and Taro believed that he was the killer.

Without hesitation, Taro went to the man's house and confronted him. The man denied any involvement in the murder, but Taro was not convinced. He continued to investigate and finally found the evidence he needed to convict the man.

The man was arrested, and he eventually confessed to the murder of Emiko. Taro's dedication and hard work had paid off, and the spirit of Emiko was finally able to rest in peace.

The legend of the Bride Ghost of Good Hills High School quickly faded away, and the school was able to move on from the tragedy that had haunted it for so many years. Taro was hailed as a hero, and he became a beloved teacher at the school.

Many years later, on the anniversary of Emiko's death, Taro returned to the chapel where she had been murdered. As he stood there, he heard a soft whisper in his ear. It was Emiko's voice, thanking him for his bravery and dedication, and telling him that she was finally at peace.

Taro smiled and whispered back, "Rest easy, Emiko. Your spirit is free, and your memory will live on forever." And with that, he walked out of the chapel, knowing that he had done something truly remarkable.
