Chapter 2 - Exploring

On the stone streets of Mount Olympus, two kids can be seen curiously looking at the structures around them.

"Why is this place so empty?" Leo questioned, looking at the empty houses and temples.

"It seems that the Olympians have just acquired Mount Olympus about a year ago, they've been too busy with the war in order to populate it. But I believe starting with us, Zeus and his siblings plan to have many offsprings now in order to fill this place up." Athena explained.

"And how do you know this?" Leo questioned curiously as he playfully kicked a rock on the ground.

"I'm the Goddess of Wisdom, I was born with the basic knowledge of our history and can infer what I think is going to happen based on what I already know." Athena smiled proudly at her title.

"So that means you're just pretty smart?" Leo deadpanned.

"I suppose so, what are you the god of?" Athena's brow twitched at his wording but ignored it and curiously looked at him.

"I'm the God of Winter, I can do things like this." Once Leo finished speaking, his body suddenly turned into ice and broke into pieces.

Athena's eye's slightly widened but she seemed to be tracking something with her eyes, eventually, her eyes stopped on a roof of a stone building where a body of ice formed and transformed into Leo.

"Not bad right!?" Leo exclaimed from a distance.

"That was impressive but I can do the same." Athena muttered before her body glowed gold and appeared beside Leo on the roof.

"Not too shabby." Leo seemed unfazed by her sudden appearance.

"From what I know, all Gods are born with abilities either unique or common to every other god. I believe the common abilities every god should have are, [Immortality],[Power Granting], [Regeneration],[Conjuration],[Metamorphosis],[Invisibility],[Telekinesis], the one we just used which was,[Teleportation], there might be more that I am unaware of."

"Of course, since we are currently only Low-Rank True Gods, we can't use these abilities to their full potential." Athena finished explaining as they jumped down from the roof of the building and continued walking through the empty streets.

"Low-Rank True Gods?" Leo curiously asked as he conjured a golden apple in his hands.

"Yes Gods are ranked from, Low-Rank True Gods, Middle-Rank True Gods, and Top-Rank True Gods, I believe there are higher ranks but I don't have any knowledge about them currently." Athena seemed happy to show off her knowledge to her twin brother.

"I see, thanks for the information." Leo smiled, taking off Athena's helmet and ruffling her brown curly hair.

"I'm not a baby, brother." Athena pouted while putting her helmet back on.

Leo simply chuckled while walking with his hands behind his head.

"Why weren't you scared?" Athena suddenly questioned staring at Leo's back.

"Scared of what?" Leo replied.

"When Zeus confronted us, you seemed fearless even though his strength is not something we can imagine currently." Athena said.

"Hehe, I was scared, I'm just good at hiding my emotions" Leo smiled as he hadn't a care in the world.

Athena was surprised.

'He didn't seem scared at all though, I can't tell if he's just being humble or is actually telling the truth.' Athena thought inwardly.

"Athena." Leo suddenly called out, the atmosphere around him seemed to have changed.

"Yes?"

"Do you not feel anger for what Zeus did to our mother?" Leo questioned but his tone seemed less livid than usual.

"He killed our mother. She was nothing but loyal to him but he killed her. Even though we never met her personally, I could feel the love she felt for us, she was our mother and he ate her as if she was an animal." Leo added, his voice becoming odder, and the cold breeze started to violently push against them.

Athena's eye's slightly widened at Leo's words.

"We never met her and it's not like we can do anything even if we were mad. It's best to just forget about her." Athena responded logically.

Once Athena finished speaking, it seemed to be getting even cloudier, as the winds got even heavier.

"Leo?" Athena questioned weirdly, staring at the volatile aura that was surrounding Leo and feeling the suddenly cold atmosphere surrounding her.

Suddenly the clouds went back to normal and the cold breeze disappeared.

"Haha! I was just messing with you, sorry if I spooked you." Leo awkwardly scratched the back of his neck as he chuckled.

Athena simply stared at Leo with narrowed eyes.

'He was definitely angry, hopefully, my brother does not do anything foolish. I'll have to keep an eye on him.' Athena sighed inwardly.

"So you don't believe me huh? Well, whatever! Let's go check out that temple!" Leo exclaimed while snowboarding on ice toward a mini-temple structure, far smaller than the one at the peak of Olympus.

"Wait for me!" Athena exclaimed as she jumped high off the ground, following behind him on foot with impressive speed.

****

It's been a few hours since they started to explore and they were now returning to the top of Olympus where the Temple is.

That's where they will be residing for now until they get their own domain inside Olympus.

"Well, that was fun." Leo spoke as he walked through the dark streets of Olympus with Athena beside him.

"Listen, Leo, I know you were serious earlier, but you can't oppose Zeus, he is the King of Gods." Athena reasoned.

"Maybe, maybe not." Leo smirked while walking with his hands behind his head.

"He is our father!" Athena exclaimed.

Leo simply glanced at his sister before continuing to look forward.

"Maybe to you but he is no father of mine."

"You can't act like th-"

"We're here."

Athena's voice was cut off by Leo as they appeared in front of the Temple at the peak of Olympus.

"Hades?" Leo questioningly looked at the dark-haired man who was leaning against a pillar at the front of the temple.

"Yes I was waiting for you two and I've already said you guys can call me Uncle." Hades replied.

"Uncle Hades, were you here the whole time?" Athena questioned with widened eyes.

"I actually just got here, come on, I will show you guys to your rooms." Hades turned his back, indicating for them to follow him inside.

They both followed behind him inside the temple which was thousands of feet in width and height, it could hold thousands of people.

The interior was covered in gold while the exterior was made out of stone.

Hades led them to two different rooms that were right next to each other.

"You guys will be staying here for tonight, tomorrow, your status will be revealed to the world, so be ready."

"Any questions?" Hades questioned.

"No, we appreciate the help, Uncle Hades." Athena nodded appreciatively.

"Yeah what she said." Leo added while hanging his arms around her shoulder.

"Alright, you will be meeting the rest of the gods and your care taker tomorrow, so for now, you are free to do whatever you want." Hades turned his back and slowly turned into a puff of black darkness.

"Can you get off me?" Once Hades left the corridor, Athena questioningly looked at Leo who had his arms wrapped around her shoulder.

"Or what?" Leo looked at Athena daringly.

Athena placed the palm of her hand onto her sheathed sword.

"Or I will remove it for you." Athena slightly smiled.

"I'd like to see you try-"

Before Leo could even finish speaking, he retracted his hand immediately because of the incoming sword slash.

Whoosh!

Athena's sword whooshed down in front of Leo as he took a step back.

"Hoho, so this is how we're playing." Leo playfully muttered before an ice katana materialized in his right hand.

"Now that I think about it, that sword type is called a katana from the Yamato province, which should be 5800 miles Northeast of here." Athena spoke as she got into her sword form.

"You get that from the library we went to earlier? You really like bragging about your so-called knowledge." Leo chuckled.

"Let's see how strong we are, shall we?" Leo looked at Athena, waiting for her move.

They both slowly walked around the other, observing each others movement.

Suddenly, Athena lunged at Leo with her sword slashing horizontally, Leo bent backward and watched the sword pass over him in slow-mo.

Whoosh!

Once the sword passed him, he immediately swung the blunt side of his katana at Athena's unguarded neck.

Cling!

"Huh?" Leo's sword was instantly blocked by a bronze shield that suddenly appeared in her opposite hand.

"I may not be good with magic but conjuring something as simple as a bronze shield is as easy as breathing." Athena smirked as she pushed Leo away from her, putting distance between them.

Leo just nodded silently.

"I feel like the sword isn't my type of weapon, I'd rather use a spear with the shield." Athena made her sword disappear and in it's place a spear appeared.

"This feels much better-"

Leo ignored her words and created an Ice Lance in the air.

He immediately launched it at her.

Athena instantly reacted and smacked it away with her shield, she noticed Leo wasn't in his previous position anymore.

Feeling a presence behind her, she instinctively rolled forward and felt a cold breeze fly above her.

Immediately turning around, she noticed Leo was already in front of her with his sword coming down on her, bringing her shield up, she blocked the sword.

Cling!

She thrust her spear with her opposite hand while Leo was defenseless.

Leo didn't even attempt to block it, he dropped his katana and simply jumped up and landed on top of the tip of the spear.

Athena's eyes widened at the sudden agile movement.

Since her shield was free, she tried to hit Leo with it but her eyes widened once more.

'My shield is frozen!?' Athena's shield froze and broke into pieces.

As she was about to reattempt to shake Leo off, she noticed he was balancing with one foot onto her spear while his other foot was coming straight down onto her head.

'Shit!-'

Bam!

Athena cursed before being knocked to the ground by the axe kick.

Athena fell face flat, as her spear dropped out of her hand.

"Did I hit too hard?" Leo playfully asked, staring at the knocked-down Athena.

Eventually she slowly started to get up, rubbing the back of her neck and taking off her helmet.

"That hurt." Athena grumbled while looking at the dented top part of her helmet.

"What type of move was that?" Athena questioningly looked at Leo.

"Just made it up, hehe." Leo chuckled.

"It seems I was cocky. You feigned your sword attack right before you jumped on top of my spear, the katana was meant to freeze my shield and you jumped on top of my spear in order to distract me, so I wouldn't notice. I'll make sure to study more about martial arts tomorrow when I go to the library." Athena nodded in understanding at her mistakes.

"It was a good match." Athena brought her hand out for Leo to clasp.

"It was." Leo grasped her hand.

Athena immediately tried to flip Leo over her shoulder but noticed her legs were frozen, momentarily distracting her.

Leo took advantage of this and swept her from under her feet, breaking the ice while at it.

"Not again-"

Athena mumbled before being slammed onto her back.

Bam!

"I thought that would work." Athena pouted as she lay on the ground.

"Nice try." Leo ruffles her hair before starting to walk away.

"Where are you going?" Athena questioned as she slowly got up.

"It's not like we need much sleep, I'm going to explore by myself, you should probably visit the library now since you like it so much." Leo replied.

"I guess." Athena muttered while following behind him to leave.
