Part of me is sad that it’s my last in town, but part of me is also happy. This town always stirs up confusion for me. Since it was my last day, I wanted to spend most of it with dad and Jane and, of course, little Emmett and Jack understood. I told him that he and Briar could stop in and hang out with us, and then Jane invited them for dinner. I have to admit I like being around family, and maybe in the future, I can move back, but right now, that isn’t a good choice for me. Over the last two years, I’ve learned that I need to watch out for myself. I love Jack, and I want to be with him, but it doesn’t mean that I have to give up my job or my life.
“How are things going with Jack?” Alyssa asked me, and she handed me Emmett.
“It’s going ok. I’m torn. I’ve wasted so much time with him, but I still want to be with him, but I don’t want to move.”
