"In our next class you're all going to tell me your individual answers." Mr Kim said before leaving the class. It was already lunch break so students have all started going to the cafeteria. I too was preparing to go down to the cafeteria and get something to eat.
Just as I stood up from my seat to leave the class, a strong hand held my arm stopping me from moving.
"Hi there" Nathan said as he did a slight wave. "Hi" I replied. "So why didn't you tell me you were gonna apply for my school?" He asked. "I didn't know you were attending the same school I was transferred to." I replied.
Yeah that's right. This conversation is going no where, anyway what did I expect with the thick fog filled with awkwardness hovering above us. "So see you later am really hungry I just want to get stuffed up with a triple burger, sandwich." I said.
"And, oh wait I wanna apologize for Kelly's attitude earlier." He said. Is he talking about the kiss, yes that was rude but I don't mind anyway, and by the way why would he apologize on her behalf. So I decided to ask an obvious question. "I saw you two smooching around, is she your…" I trailed off expecting a different answer that I knew wouldn't come.
"Oh, yes she's my girlfriend." He answered well I thought it won't hurt but he is like my third crush or something like that, so of course it hurts, I feel like crying for my virgin heart!
"Of course, I knew I just wanted to… anyway see you around and tell Kelly I said hi." I said as I quickly left the class. Poor me.
I went straight to the cafeteria thankfully there was no stress in getting food to eat. As I went to seat on a table, I saw two familiar faces. They are my two seat mates we haven't really talked yet but I don't want to seat alone too. So I went over to their table.
"Can I seat here?" I asked them. the girl and the dude made eye contact, before the boy nodded his head furiously, aww that's cute. I sat down opposite the Dual. "So… am Nicole Devon." I reintroduced myself, trying to make a conversation. "Oh am clara and this is my best friend Justin" Clara explained. "Hi" Justin said as he waved shyly. He seems very timid. How cute, I keep describing Justin as cute because he's very very cute, ok I would have said that he's handsome but if I say that I wonder what I can describe Nathan as.
By the way after that, I was just about to take a bite of my sandwich when Justin made a statement. "Ni… Nicky, you're very beautiful" he said avoiding eye contact with both Clara and me. Oh we're giving nicknames now eh. Clara almost choked on her juice.
I too was equally surprised by the sudden confession. I couldn't help but let out a big smile. "Aww thanks, and you look very cute as well." I said and his eyes lightened up. "You think so?" He asked with seriousness "alright cut it out you two, you both might as well kneel down on one knee and propose to each other." Clara said. "What? What's wrong with admiring a friend." I said. Just as I said that Justin almost sprang up from his seat. "We're friends now right? You can't take that back!" He almost yelled and in that minute the noisy cafeteria suddenly wasn't so noisy Anymore. Looking around to know the cause of the sudden quietness, we saw every eyes that could blink directed at our table.
Clara facepalmed, in frustration "Justin if you don't behave yourself I'll beat you up myself this instant!!!" Clara said with a murderous look in her eyes. Justin raised his hands up in surrender I couldn't help myself, I chuckled and just as I let it all out, all eyes were on me. "Wow even your laugh is so beautiful." Justin concluded. And my chicks went hot.
After we were done with our lunch the three of us went strolling. Apparently Justin couldn't wait to show me around the school. "And here, is the library." Justin pointed out as we reached a huge building that was built separately from the other academic blocks.
"Do you like books?" Justin asked "yes why?" I asked. Not knowing what brought up the sudden question. "Which books do you like then?" He asked again "hmm please don't mind him he's always like this." Clara sighed. "No it's okey I don't mind in fact I like uhm, history books and mostly novels." I replied. "Wow that makes three of us then, which genres do you like in novels?" Justin asked again as we walk towards the building.
"I love fantasy!!!" I yelled with exhilaration. "and romance too, but mostly fantasy." I added. "OMG!!! There is no way all this is a coincidence." Justin said. "Cause we both also love fantasy and romance novels too" Clara finally got interested in the conversation.
" Yeah, cause when am reading those, it feels all real like… like I've been teleported into the the book and everything and every detail seems to be happening around me!" We all said that last part together then after a few seconds we realized what we had done then we all burst out laughing.
"This is serious it seems like we have been fated to be best friends already." I said. Seems like fate isn't so much of a bitch than I thought, I know I said I don't believe in fate, but there have been so many coincidence lately so… I don't know what I believe anymore. "Clara, Nicole and Justin that sure is a good set to be best of friends" Justin concluded.
We went into the building and seeing the place, I immediately marked it as my favorite place in this school. "Let's spread out and see if there is anything nice we can borrow here."
