Chapter 169 - Chapter 169 - Solaris Foundation Festival (1)

"So, what's the reason for you coming to see me? You're probably busy because of the spy, aren't you?"

Emi asked, starting the conversation, her voice sounding calm and melodic. Lately, I feel that just hearing her voice is enough to make me feel relaxed. Listening to her words, I began to think about how to tell her what we've discovered.

I had already decided that I would tell her everything, so I was just thinking about the right order to do it. In the end, I decided to get straight to the point, as this would probably be the best approach.

"We managed to figure out how to get to the other continent. Well, nothing is completely confirmed, but I'm pretty sure we've figured it out"

My words sounded calm because my goal was not to scare Emi. Meanwhile, I interlocked our hands to convey security and comfort. As soon as she heard my words, Emi turned her head towards me and fixed her golden eyes on mine.

"My father... What does he intend to do?"

Emi asked, but to be honest, it was also a question I had in mind. This thought made me release a small sigh.

"At the moment, as far as I know, nothing. Unless it's something I shouldn't know"

I said, giving a wry smile. Hearing my words, Emi let out an adorable chuckle.

"I highly doubt my father would do that. He has immense trust in you. Over the past two years, my father and my brother have always contacted you if any problems arose. You've practically become the royal family's advisor, or at least that's what everyone is saying"

Emi said with a teasing smile on her lips, aware that I didn't like being called that. To be fair, my parents have been more involved in the administration of our territory in the past year, and both have gained a lot of knowledge in the process. Now, they can be called true rulers, thanks to their help; I've had more time to spend with Emi and have fun.

As I pondered this, I realized that Emi's grip on my hand had become slightly firmer. I turned my gaze to her and noticed her serious expression as she watched me.

"And you? What do you intend to do?"

Emi asked, her gaze fixed on me. Hearing her words, I gently raised her hand to eye level and placed a soft kiss on it.

"At the moment, I don't intend to do anything either. Of course, ideally, I would like everything to be resolved peacefully... But if the situation worsens and we need to go to war, I will crush our enemies. After all, they will try to harm people who are extremely precious to me"

Upon hearing my words, Emi seemed momentarily surprised, until her voice resonated softly.

"Ren..."

Emi murmured my name softly, her golden eyes shining with gratitude and affection. She brought her face close to mine and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips, expressing her feelings in a way that words could not fully capture.

"I already imagined you would say something like that, and that's exactly why I love you so much"

After uttering these words, Emi laughed and leaned back on the bed, gazing up at the ceiling. After that moment, both Emi and I remained silent for a while. I also lay down beside her, our hands still intertwined, reflecting the affection we nurtured for each other.

"By the way, the kingdom's founding festival is scheduled for next week"

Emi broke the silence unexpectedly, instantly grabbing my attention. Her eyes met mine; I had noticed for a while now that Emi had this strange habit of fixing her gaze on mine. I never got around to asking why she did it, but in my opinion, my eyes were plain and devoid of any striking characteristics. In contrast, Emi's eyes were a deep golden hue, absolutely captivating.

"This will be your first time participating, isn't it?"

Emi asked, her gaze fixed on me. Upon hearing her words, I simply nodded in agreement. Then, I shared what I had been thinking.

"As I was heading to the castle, I noticed that some people I passed on the street seemed really excited about something. I was in a hurry, so I didn't ask, but it was probably because of the upcoming festival"

Listening to my words, Emi displayed a sweet smile on her face.

"The festival has been happening since the reign of Solaris's first monarch; I believe we can even consider it a historic event. Additionally, there will be various food stalls to cater to the citizens. Moreover, a dance performance is scheduled. Honestly... I hope you enjoy the event to the fullest"

Emi said with a gentle smile on her face, looking at me. Honestly, there was no reason not to like it. In fact, from Emi's words, the festival seemed quite similar to festivals in my old world.

"I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but before that, how about we participate in the dance on the day?"

I asked, smiling at Emi, and upon hearing my words, she raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"I'm not sure if that's a good idea. If we get caught, it definitely won't end with just a punishment. Besides, everyone will be nervous if we show up"

Emi said, her tone clearly expressing disappointment. Realizing that, a smile formed on my lips.

"You don't need to worry about that. If you wear some of my clothes, I doubt anyone will notice that you're the princess. Besides, would anyone really believe that the princess would be dressing as a man to attend the festival?"

Upon hearing my words, Emi let out a few laughs before nodding in agreement, accepting my idea.

"I can't deny that it's a good idea, but is it okay for me to use your clothes?"

Emi asked, genuinely curious. Although her question initially seemed completely normal, for some reason, I felt there was something more in her words.

"Well... is there any specific reason you're not comfortable with it? Unless you don't want to, of course"

Upon hearing my words, Emi smiled and leaned in again toward my face, planting a small kiss on my lips.

"Alright, let's do it"

Emi said, looking enthusiastic. Truly, I couldn't tell if it was because of the festival or the prospect of dressing as a man.
