Chapter 44 - Feeling bad

Sasha slowly stirred in her bed, her eyes fluttering open to greet the morning light that filtered through the curtains. As consciousness seeped into her groggy mind, she reached out instinctively for the warmth and presence of Adam. But her fingers met only the cool emptiness of the sheets beside her.

Confusion clouded her thoughts as she sat up, searching the room for any sign of him. Yet, Adam's absence was palpable, and a pang of emptiness washed over Sasha's heart. She didn't like waking up all alone. She loved it when Adam was by her side when she woke up. 

A surge of anxiety coursed through her veins, as if someone had tightened a vice around her chest. She tried to push herself out of bed, but an overwhelming wave of weakness engulfed her body, rendering her limbs heavy and unresponsive. Her head throbbed with an inexplicable ache, and she felt a lingering dizziness that made even the simplest movements a challenge.
