I turned towards the group of people that had swarmed me and said, "Do you guys deliver?"
Since I don't really have an inventory system at all or some-
Wait a second…
'Eve?'
{Yes, Deimos?}
'Do you have an inventory function?'
{I do, but you haven't really met the stats required to access it. Sorry for the inconvenience!}
'Ah well that's a shame. Can you tell me what stats I need?'
{Of course. You would need to have 50 points in all your stats for you to have access.}
'50 eh? Alright, I guess that can wait'
As I was talking to Eve in my head, the vendors wanted to inquire more about what I wanted delivered.
"We can deliver, yes, but what and where do you want delivered?"
Since I'm in an area that primarily sold firearms and other forms of weaponry, I was thinking that the ferry that me and the main cast would be taking to Hamunaptra would inevitably be set ablaze by a skirmish between one of Imhotep's followers and Rick, I would prepare a convoy drop at the place that they would jump ship.
Since there were going to be 5 of them including myself…I would get a couple machine guns for myself and Rick and a couple pistols for Evelyn and Johnathan.
I do also want some heavier power for the supernatural mummies.
After running through the scenes of the movies in my head, I turned towards the group again.
"Could I get 3 of those machine guns? The KG M21 along with 3 magazines of ammo" I said as I pointed to a display case with a gun that I was vaguely familiar with.
Familiar in the aspect that I only ever used it once in a game and kinda liked the design, for an old weapon of course.
I started walking along the vendor shops to see what else they had to offer.
Being in the 1920's really isn't giving me much of a choice in guns but I could make do.
As I walked I pointed at a couple more pistols that I figured the group could use and got myself 2 hand grenades for extreme measures.
As I sorted the deets with the vendors, I noticed in the corner of my eye, the butt of a gun that I'm pretty sure everyone knows.
To make sure, I walked straight towards where it was and questioned the vendor.
"Excuse me, but could I see that gun" I said as I pointed to the gun sticking out of one of the crates.
"Oh this? You've got quite an eye, my young friend" he said as he walked over and grabbed the gun and yanked it out.
Yep, I knew it.
What the vendor was holding was only the infamous Thompson .45.
The gun from the iconic scene from that black and white movie within Home Alone 2.
"Could I have a look at it please?" I held out my hand intending for me to hold it.
He lent it towards me and I felt all the power.
'I believe you, but my tommy gun don't!!!'
Good times, ahem, "Alright I want this. I want this bad. How much?"
"I sell it to you for $300 US dollars, that sound reasonable?"
That cheap? Well…I am kinda loaded right now so I guess pretty much everything is cheap to me, especially in this era.
"Yeah that sounds fair. Also do you have a few of those drum magazines? The 100 round ones?" I said with a hopeful expression. I can't get the full experience with the tommy gun without the iconic drum on it.
"Want to paint the town red ah? Yes, I have 3 of them, I sell it to you for $50 each?"
"Splendid. Then please talk amongst the vendors I recently bought from and they can provide you with a place for me to pick them up."
With everything pretty much squared away, I felt that I was officially ready for the plot to begin, but only after a night's rest since I still had some time left to roam the streets and try out the local cuisine and street food.
-TIMESKIP UNTIL NIGHT-
I didn't anticipate that I would be outside for that long.
As soon as I got into my hotel room, I couldn't help but jump onto my bed and just lay there for a couple minutes.
Physically I felt fine with how much walking I did but mentally, I felt drained.
Maybe going to the library and raising my intelligence stat would also help my mental fortitude.
"Eve" I called out since I'm alone right now. "Show me my tasks tab please."
{Certainly.}
[TASKS
Daily Task: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and 10 kilometre run. (COMPLETE)
Cooldown: 07:24:37 remaining ]
7 hours until I have to do it again, alright. If I kept doing this daily quest for a couple more weeks, I would be nigh invincible, for humans of course.
But that's still a pretty long time and I'm pretty sure I'd be done with this world long before I get to that point.
Although, I'm pretty sure by the time I get face-to-face with Imhotep, I could probably take him in a fist-fight, it's his magic that makes me worried.
"Damn it you smelly old carcass" I muttered.
There's also the chance of me being brainwashed or something, but I shouldn't be too wary of that.
Considering I'll probably try to gain as much stat points into intelligence tomorrow so as to have no threat attacking me with fancy mind gimmicks.
I have to check something really quick first though. "Eve."
{Yes?}
"Is it possible for me to gain stats at a much faster rate? I like the daily quests and all, but it's only +2 every time for every day. Seems a little underwhelming right?"
{I guess so, considering the fact that you may be sent to a world where the monsters are thousands of times stronger than the one you will face…}
{Tell you what, there is something that will drastically improve your stats, and I'm not just talking about 1 or two of them, but all of them!}
{But…you will probably hate me since it will require you to be tested upon your limits and any slight mistake could as well be your own demise.}
(A/N: Sorry guys, but I really think that Deimos having a penalty for his daily quest, that is almost exactly the same as Solo Leveling's, would substantially increase his strength for the worlds to come after he finishes the mummy. I will try not to make him completely overpowered, but to the point that he would always surprise his enemies. :D)
"That bad eh? But the rewards must be something nice considering I'm putting my life on the line for it, right?"
{Tremendously so!}
"Alright, I'll bite. What do I have to do to get it?"
{You will have to wait the timer out of the daily quest. Nothing else is required.}
{After the allotted time for the daily quest has passed, the quest penalty will occur and you will either be sent to your demise or should you survive, you will be rewarded accordingly.}
"So I just have to wait it out? And what do you mean by 'accordingly'?"
{I'm afraid that would ruin the surprise if I were to spill the beans on everything, no?}
"I guess it would. Hehe, now you're really making it interesting, can I bring anything to ensure my survival?"
{You can yes, that is entirely up to you on what to bring.}
"Alright then, thank you."
{You are welcome. Might I add that you should take a bath and head to bed after 20 minutes of stretching.}
"What are you, Kira?"
{I get the reference, but really you should try it. Especially since you now have an upgraded body which you need to get more adjusted to.}
Oh I haven't really thought of that since I haven't really felt anything to complain about with this new body.
"I guess you're right. Alright then, thank you again."
{As always, you are welcome. Sweet dreams, Deimos.}
-TIMESKIP 9 HOURS-
~Yawnnnn~
Man I slept like a baby, I guess those stretches really did help out.
As soon as I started to get out of bed, I heard a ding that vaguely sounded like the bell of Taco Bell.
Right after the sound woke me, I saw my tasks tab open automatically in front of me.
[Tasks
Daily Task: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and 10 kilometre run. (INCOMPLETE)

Another smaller panel opened on top of that I haven't seen.
[!!WARNING!!
You have 00:20:20 remaining until you are penalized. Please do your daily task!]
20 minutes left.
I really wonder if I should ignore the warnings and prepare or just be a little sissy and just do the quest.
But Eve did tell me that I could grow really fast if I ignore it.
I'll try it out once, and if the rewards are as good as she said they were, I'll have no choice but to do them.
20 minutes until God knows what'll happen, but that leaves me time to freshen up.
-20 MINUTES LATER-
The same warning message appeared just as I placed the breakfast tray outside my door.
[!!!!WARNING!!!!
You have 00:00:10 remaining until you are penalized. Penalty will be occurring if daily quest is not completed]

[Teleporting to Penalty Area]
Just before I was blinded by the same white light that first teleported me to this hotel suite, I heard Eve call out to me.
{Good luck Deimos, I hope you come back okay!}
"Tha-"
Just as I told her my thanks, I was blinded for a few seconds.
I winced my eyes and slowly opened them to find myself in the middle of a desert.
"Huh?"
Does this really make sense? I mean I'm in The Mummy so did the penalty thing teleport me somewhere in the desert?
I looked around and all I could see for miles in every direction was sand. Not a single thing other than sand was in my line of sight no matter where I looked.
"This is it, seriously, what a joke?"
I started to walk around and that's when I felt some vibrations coming from beneath my feet.
I quickly felt that something was going to go terribly wrong if I continued to stand where I stood and made sure to use my agility stat to the max and jumped out of the way.
As soon as my feet left the sand, a gigantic centipede looking monster came out from the ground where I previously stood.
"Okay, nevermind I stand corrected."
My tasks panel opened in front of me on its own.
[NEW TASK
Daily Quest: SURVIVE
Time Remaining: 05:59:59]
You're kidding me right?
6 hours against this centipede is way too long.
Not a second after I contemplated on what to do, I felt more rumbling and 3 more centipedes came out from under the ground.
A line of 4 gigantic centipedes that were grotesquely wiggling around stared at me with what I assume to be that of hunger.
Oh, so now I'm food?
Just as they stared me down, I quickly turned tail and ran for my life.
I'm a dead man, I'm a dead man, I'm a dead man!
