Hey boy. Have you heard of Ocean Blue? I always dream of an ocean blue.
Joey! Joey! Joey!!! Ah! I'm up!
Joey woke up to the sound of his mother's voice calling his name. He rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the drowsiness. He reached for his alarm clock and groaned when he saw the time. He was going to be late for his philosophy class again.
"Ah, shit," Joey muttered to himself.
Joey is a young college student with a shock of curly, afro-like hair that seemed to glow in the morning light. His eyes were a striking shade of orange, like the setting sun, and seemed to hold a hint of mischief and curiosity. He wore a turtleneck every day, no matter the weather or occasion. His wardrobe was limited, with only a few other pieces of clothing to choose from.
He quickly got dressed and headed downstairs, where he found his mother waiting for him in the kitchen.
"Good morning, Joey," his mother greeted him with a smile. "Where were you last night?"
Joey sighed and sat down at the kitchen table. "Just hanging out with some friends, Mom. Why do you ask?"
His mother raised an eyebrow. "I just worry about you, that's all. You were out until late and I didn't hear from you."
"I'm sorry, Mom," Joey said, looking down at the table. "I should have called or texted you to let you know I was okay."
His mother nodded and patted his hand. "Just be careful, Joey. You're still young and I want you to stay safe."
Joey smiled and leaned in to kiss his mother on the cheek. "I will, Mom. I promise. I've got to go now or I'm going to be late for class."
Joey stepped outside, his expression dull as he hurried through Hiraeth City on his way to school. The cool morning air brushed against his face, but he hardly noticed. Thoughts of impending deadlines and assignments weighed heavily on his mind.
He weaved through the bustling streets, his pace quickening as he glanced at his watch. He couldn't afford to be late again.
Hiraeth City, was a sprawling metropolis that stretched as far as the eye could see. It was a city of contrasts, with gleaming skyscrapers towering over ancient ruins and quaint cobblestone streets.
Despite its age, Hiraeth City was a city of the future, with advanced technologies and cutting-edge infrastructure that allowed its inhabitants to live in relative comfort and ease. The city was powered by a vast network of renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and geothermal power. Its streets were lined with self-driving cars and buses, and its buildings were equipped with the latest in smart technology, allowing residents to control everything from the temperature of their homes to the lighting in their bedrooms with a simple voice command.
At the same time, Hiraeth City was a city that valued its history and heritage. The ancient ruins that dotted the cityscape had been preserved and restored, and now served as reminders of the city's rich past. The cobblestone streets were lined with quaint shops and cafes, and the city's many parks and gardens were carefully tended and maintained.
Joey sighed as he entered the lecture hall, already anticipating the teasing he would receive from his coursemate Eitou. Eitou was a flamboyant character, known for his outrageous fashion choices and vibrant hair. His pink hair was styled into an elaborate updo, and he was wearing a bright pink suit with gold accents.
"Late again, dumbass?" Eitou quipped as Joey took his seat.
Joey rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sorry. I got held up last night."
"Oh?" Eitou raised an eyebrow. "Do tell."
Joey sighed. He didn't really want to get into it, but he knew Eitou wouldn't let it go until he did. "I was out with some friends and we got stuck in traffic. By the time we got to the restaurant, we were running late for our reservation. Then we stayed out later than we should have and I didn't get much sleep."
Eitou smirked. "Sounds like you had a wild night. Who were you with?"
Joey shrugged. "Just some friends from work."
Eitou leaned in closer, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Any cute girls?"
Joey felt himself blush. "N-no, it was just a group of guys."
Eitou cackled. "Ah, I see. Well, you better watch out. If you keep staying out late and not getting enough sleep, you'll start to age like a prune!"
Joey rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but smile a little. Despite Eitou's teasing, he was always entertaining to be around. Plus, it was nice to have someone to talk to in this boring lecture hall.
As the professor began to speak, Joey leaned back in his chair and tried to focus on the lecture. But he couldn't shake the feeling that Eitou was still watching him, a sly smile on his face.
