Dominique arrived at Roasters in haste. She rushed inside to find Raven covered in her usual bandages, but a blood-stained spot on her left shoulder indicated a fresh injury. Dominique hurried over to Raven, her voice soft and motherly, "What happened?" Raven, with the same innocent demeanor as a child, simply replied, "I got shot." Dominique's eyes widened with concern and worry, but Raven reassured her, "But please don't worry, I am okay! I just need to go to my office." Despite Raven's heartwarming smile, Dominique took a deep breath, her body relaxing slightly as she knew Raven would not be persuaded to seek further medical attention.
Raven turned to the handsome man beside her and said, "Oh, since you're here, this is Lucifer." Dominique followed Raven's gaze and met Lucifer's striking blue eyes. Dom felt immediately captivated by the man before her. Her eyes widened and a shy smile spread across her face as she grew nervous in his presence.
"Lucifer, this is Dominique," Raven said, raising her brow as she watched Dom's reaction. "It's a pleasure to meet you," Lucifer replied softly, his kind demeanor putting the innocent Dominique at ease.
Lucifer quickly noticed the complexity behind Dominique's demeanor, but knew her desires would be difficult to conceal. Raven observed Dominique curiously. "Y-Yes, it's a pleasure," Dominique stammered, her cheeks flushing pink.
Raven stood up with a playful eye roll. "Now that you've met, Dominique is a therapist just like me. If you're going to be my partner, I'm sure Dominique wouldn't mind having you as her patient. What do you think, Dom?"
Dominique looked at Raven with a slight scowl. "I wouldn't mind at all," Dominique said, flustered as she realized why Raven was teasing her. Raven walked past, teasing, "Are you sick, love? Your face has gotten several shades darker."
Dom playfully rolled her eyes as Lucifer stood up from the booth he shared with Raven. "You know the answer," Dominique said with a small, embarrassed chuckle. Lucifer's bright smile suggested his charms had worked, but Raven took no notice.
Lucifer walked ahead and opened the door for Raven as they headed outside. Raven paid him no mind, her annoyance around him drawing a soft chuckle from Lucifer. Dominique followed, thanking Lucifer politely
Dominique reached for her car keys in her left pocket, but they were gone. "Raven," she sighed, letting her head fall back in exasperation. "You took longer to notice this time." Raven smirked, unlocking the car with Dom's keys and hopping into the driver's seat.
Dom glared at Raven, arms crossed. "What happened?" Lucifer asked curiously, coming to stand beside her.
"She has a habit of pickpocketing. I didn't even notice - she took the chance when I was distracted," Dom chuckled, avoiding Lucifer's gaze.
"Ah, the little devil has some tricks up her sleeve," Lucifer remarked, eyeing the car Raven had settled into. As Dominique settled into the passenger seat, she remarked, "If only she used those talents for more noble activities," before closing the car door.
Lucifer slipped into the backseat, closing the door behind him. Instantly, Raven peeled out, cutting off a cab before Dominique could even fasten her seatbelt. Lucifer watched with a wide grin, enthralled by Raven's reckless driving. Each moment with her felt like a revelation, as everything about Raven captivated him. Yet, Lucifer hesitated to reveal the feelings stirring within, uncertain of their nature.
After a few minutes, Raven parked the car effortlessly, a stark contrast to her earlier driving. Turning the key counterclockwise, she removed it from the ignition and looked over at Dominique, who seemed tense with a shaky smile.
"I forgot you haven't ridden with me driving before. How was it?" Raven chuckled, noticing Dominique's body language. Despite appearing happy, it seemed time was catching up to her.
Handing Dominique the keys, Raven exited the car. A twinge of pain shot through her left arm and shoulder, and she could feel the blood from her wound seeping through. Lucifer rushed out from the backseat, concern etched on his face.
Raven shook her head gently, mustering a soft smile as she closed the door. Dominique casually opened her own door, as if this were a routine occurrence.
Tilting her head, Raven looked at Lucifer. "Is something wrong? You seem worried," she said with a small chuckle. "Don't tell me you're worried about me."
Reassuring them, Raven said, "Don't worry, I'm alright. I have extra bandages and a spare set of clothes in my office." With that, she turned and headed towards the building ahead.
Lucifer and Dom walked behind Raven, their eyes drawn to the blood seeping through her bandages. "Raven, this looks a lot worse than your last injuries," Dom said, his voice laced with genuine concern as he examined her left shoulder.
Raven tried to reassure them, "It's okay. The stitches are still holding, and I've been careful not to strain it. It's just bleeding a bit." Her confident tone belied the pain etched on her face.
Lucifer chuckled, but his smile couldn't mask his hidden worry. "You're not immortal, Detective. You really should get that checked out."
Raven rolled her eyes, her playful tone at odds with the tremors in her right hand that betrayed her true discomfort. "Oh, so now you're a doctor?"
Dom noted the small tremors, a silent signal that Raven was in extreme pain despite her best efforts to appear unaffected.
"Ill be fine." Raven said in annoyance as she kept focus on walking to her office.
