"Thank you players for playing the game."
"Lords Battlefield's service is officially ending in 12 hours. We sincerely hope you had a great time."
Lords Battlefield is a virtual full-dive game that randomly appeared on the market. The developers and its creators were not known but this did not stop the first ever virtual full-dive game to become popular.
Lords Battlefield is a game about being the lord of a territory; you manage your subjects, increase their loyalty, strengthen your military prowess, increase your ranking and conquer other lord factions. However, the games difficulty was extreme. The gruesome scenes and the realistic blood that spilt every time they went to rank. Increasing the loyalty of your military personnel was hard aswell. And at the first place many players felt that the game was too unfair as they could only have human subjects unlike the ones they saw in-game where Dragon Lords existed, Spirit Lords, Elf Lords, and more. "What could we even do against them as humans when we encounter them on rank wars?" is what they thought. They had several theories as to why these Lords that weren't human existed but no one could give them answers.
Many felt that battling supernatural species as humans were impossible.
Naturally due to this, many players quit the game after just a year of its release!
But there were others who persevered.
Roman was the one of them.
He fought against the dragon species, elf race, spirit race, hound race, etc.. until he became the No.1 Lord with billions of loyal subjects and billions of high-grade military personnel. How was this all possible? Because Roman had the Lord Talent Increased Luck! All the monsters they killed drop more loot compared to other lords.
"Phew.. I had expected this since less and less players played the game but I didn't think it would come this fast." Roman said.
He logged out of the game and left his game pod as he went to get a glass of water.
The night sky could be seen from the window of his messy apartment room.
"It's been 10 years now after the Lords Battlefield's release. I was 17 that year and now I'm 27..." He sighed
"Time goes by fast huh...."
"I guess I'll go spend the night in-game as this will be the last time I'll see my people after all." He said as he put down the empty glass and walked towards his game pod.
He entered the game and soon his character appeared inside the Throne Room of his Lord Palace.
He then said to the maid beside him to call over the Vice Lord, Chen. After the maid heard the order of her Lord she called the Vice Lord immediately
Not long after, Chen the Vice Lord of Calderic God Realm appeared in front of Roman.
"I heard you called me my lord."
"Make preparations to throw the biggest banquet the history of the Calderic Realm ever had!" Roman roared with enthusiasm.
"Immediately my Lord!"
"Dismissed." After hearing Roman's words, Chen walked out of the Throne Room and then sprinted to his office to immediately start the preparations.
Roman too stood up and teleported himself to Calderic's Capital, Archemon. He wanted to spend time with the people he had been with everyday for the past 10 years after all.
8 hours passed and the banquet began; the banquet was held at the Banquet Room of the Palace.
Everyone was there and discrimation between people with ranks and normal subjects was nonexistent. You can say that Roman indeed is a good Lord to everyone.
After an hour since the start of the banquet Roman went up stage where he could see everyone.
"Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends and colleagues,
As I stand before you today, it's with a mix of emotions that I find myself delivering these words. Ten years have passed since we embarked on this incredible journey together, and now the time has come for us to part ways. Today, we say goodbye, not just to a chapter in our lives, but to a decade of shared experiences, challenges, triumphs, and growth.
Looking back, it's impossible not to be overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude. Each of you has played an integral role in shaping the person I am today. We have laughed together, faced challenges head-on, and celebrated numerous victories. The bonds we've formed, the memories we've created, and the lessons we've learned will forever be etched in my heart.
Our time together has been a tapestry woven with threads of collaboration and camaraderie. From early mornings filled with brainstorming sessions to late nights pushing through difficulties, we've shown what it means to truly work as a team. The dedication and passion that each one of you has brought to the table have been a constant source of inspiration for me.
But as we bid adieu, I am reminded that goodbyes are not just about endings; they're about new beginnings too. The experiences we've shared, the skills we've honed, and the friendships we've cultivated will undoubtedly pave the way for the next chapter in our lives. As we step into new adventures, I have no doubt that the mark we've left on each other will continue to resonate in our endeavors.
In the world beyond these walls, challenges will persist, and opportunities will arise. But armed with the knowledge that we've gained and the memories we hold dear, I am confident that each one of us will navigate this journey with grace and resilience. Let's carry forward the lessons we've learned, the laughter we've shared, and the unbreakable bonds we've formed.
Before I conclude, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Thank you for your unwavering support, your friendship, and your commitment. While our paths may diverge, the impact you've had on my life will forever remain. Please remember, this farewell is not a goodbye in the truest sense; it's a "see you later" filled with hope, anticipation, and excitement for the paths we're about to tread.
So, here's to the past ten years and to the countless memories we've made together. May our futures be as bright and fulfilling as our time here has been. As we step forward, let's carry the spirit of camaraderie, collaboration, and compassion that has defined our journey."
Thundering applauses and audible sobbing followed.
Roman then continued;
"To the years, memories, and difficulties we've overcome! Cheers!"
He said as he raised his wine glass to everyone.
"Cheers!"
The people's loud cheers and scream of joy was audible even from the Calderic's tall City Walls.
Roman drank his wine and gave his glass to the butler behind him and walked off the stage.
The night came and the banquet ended.
Roman glanced at the timer in front of him and smiled as teardrops flowed out of his eyes one by one.
[29 minutes and 13 seconds remaining until Lords Battlefield's service ends!]
"I had fun." While others may not agree with him but Roman liked to face adversity. He was just different.
As he decided to stay in-game until the timer ends he went out of the palace and gazed at the starry night sky above him as he laid down on the cold grass and closed his eyes feeling the wind breeze.
