As the Domain of Light was severed, all things under its authority experienced a drastic change.
It was as though a kind of supression had vanished from above them, and they could live their lives with far more freedom.
As for the many Heavenly Immortals and Heavenly Masters, they only just realized that things were changing.
The other Universal Sovereigns all looked toward the Domain of Light, but could not see through its mystical barrier and peer into the truth.
As for the Universe Gilgamesh had just come out from, it was in a special state.
Andromeda's Dao-Seal was left at her residence at the center of the universe, meaning that anyone fortunate enough would be able to rise to power and go claim it.
This would, no doubt, spark a war for the position of Universal Sovereign.
As for who that would be in the end, no one knew for sure.
Once The Light perished, the Domain lost all of its features and became a gray area. Unless a new Domain Lord was appointed, it would stay this way forever.
Gilgamesh and Little Feather celebrated their moment of badassery, and Wyg and Law congratulated him.
He had fought and killed a Domain Lord when he was only at the Condesation stage.
Such a thing was only possible because he was who he was. This was a feat that would never be replicated, because it could not be replicated.
'So what stage of cultivation was he at?'
The Omniscient Author became excited when it heard Gilgamesh ask it a question.
Finally, I can be useful to my Master again!
'As you know, the realm of cultivation starts with the Condensation stage, the Formation stage, the Expansion stage and then the Embryonic Soul stage.'
'The Expansion stage is made up of four levels, those being 'Early,' 'Intermediate,' 'Late' and 'Peak' Expansion.'
'Those levels are no indication of how successful your Expansion process is, though. You can expand your sea of energy a total of four times, each time by only an inch, and you'll still be considered to be at the Peak Expansion stage.'
'After that is the Embryonic Soul stage, where the soul begins to develop further, becoming an immortal embryo. By nurturing that embryonic soul, you will progress through four more stages.'
'Unlike the Expansion stage, however, these levels can only be reached if your embryonic soul grows enough. A tiny bit of growth will not be enough.'
'Once your soul embryo reaches that key point in its development, you will have reached the Banishment stage. When cultivating in this stage, the potential of a cultivator shines through.'
'There is no real upper limit to the amount of times a cultivator can banish traces of mundane mortality from their souls and bodies, but it is extremely rare for there to be more than one hundred banishments.'
'Anything more is considered a freak of nature.'
'Then, there is the Soul Evolution stage. This is the most important stage any cultivator can go through, but a large amount of them do not reach it.'
'After completing all possible Banishments, the Soul evolves into its truest form. Depending on what that form is, the Powers that Govern the Book of Existence will provide a unique cultivation path for you.'
'After this stage, each person's cultivation becomes completely unique. In theory, it is possible for a cultivator's Soul Evolution to turn them into anything ranging from a Universal Sovereign to a Domain Lord.'
'Perhaps even higher.'
Gilgamesh suddenly frowned, 'You couldn't have told me all this before?'
The Omniscient Author suddenly faltered, 'I... I don't think I knew of these things before. My knowledge seems to have grown somehow.'
'Perhaps because you are now at the top of the Last Page.'
Gilgamesh nodded thoughtfully.
His and the Omniscient Author's conversation had only taken a few seconds.
"I was originally planning to undergo my tribulation while they were still alive, but oh well. I'll do it now."
Gilgamesh placed Little Feather on the floor; the Domain was now little more than an empty space with giant dead stars.
Gilgamesh looked up at the empty sky, and it was like he could feel the vastness of the Book that lay ahead of him.
He gathered energy, finding that his energy gathering method coupled with the Obscure Spark was now many time more efficient than before.
From 1,120,000 cycles, he reached 2,240,000 cycles in a few minutes.
As soon as he directed energy toward the Eight meridian, the sky opened up, revealing a world of white.
It was like a sheet of paper; there was nothing in it that they could see.
Gilgamesh looked around at the blank space up above, and Little Feather also looked around at it with confusion etched on her face.
"It can't be!" Wyg suddenly exclaimed, and Gilgamesh looked over to him.
"You recognize this?"
Wyg was beyond surprised, and he didn't immediately answer. Instead, he turned to Law while pointing at the white sky.
"LAW!!! YOU SEEIN' THIS SHIT!?!?"
Law had fallen to his knees and was clutching both sides of his face as he gazed dumbly at the tribulation.
"S-S-S...."
Law could not even speak the words.
Gilgamesh looked to Wyg again, and saw him still freaking out. He was about to ask the Omniscient Author about it when Wyg finally spoke.
"This is a Tribulation of Surrender... The Nature of Heaven is no longer powerful enough to provide a tribulation for you, and it is giving you a free pass to advance to the limit of what this dimension can support."
Gilgamesh's brow raised and his smirk appeared.
"So, I can advance in cultivation until the Nature of Heaven can no longer stomach my power?"
Wyg nodded violently; Law was drooling.
Little Feather looked at them, looked at Gilgamesh, then looked at the sky. Suddenly, her cute laughter filled the space.
"So you surrendered, huh? What a loser! I told you my Big Brother's the best! Haha!"
Hearing her laughing and mocking the Nature of Heaven, Wyg and Law were taken aback.
Only Gilgamesh's little sister would dare to say something like this!
Gilgamesh laughed along with her, and proceeded to break through.
Eighth level of the Condensation stage... acheived!
Gilgamesh wasted no time. He was taking advantage of the Nature of Heaven's surrender.
He felt as though he had been trying to get to the Peak of Condensation for years, when in reality he had started to cultivate again about a week ago.
In such a short time, he had risen to the top of the Last Page of the Book of Existence, ready to transcend that dimension.
While this accomplishment, in the grand scheme of things, was a drop in the ocean, he had taken less time than anyone ever had in the history of this particular Book.
Even his past self had not transcended the First Book of Existence this fast.
While it could be said that he had actually taken seventeen years, in addition to the five years he spent in the mystic realm, Gilgamesh did not really feel that way.
In his mind, the current him had dominated the Last Page in a number of days.
It just sounded better when he thought about it.
Before long, he reached 4,480,000 cycles, and sensed the ninth meridian.
The white sky above still lingered, and so he pressed forward to the Ninth level!
Little Feather, Wyg and Law looked on with differing expressions.
Little Feather was delighted, Wyg was flabbergasted and Law was practically braindead.
8,960,000 cycles were reached, and he sensed the Tenth meridian.
For the first time, Gilgamesh was finally feeling excited regarding his cultivation.
He was finally making progress after about a week, and he felt ecstatic. He felt like he was actually getting somewhere.
Like he was actually beginning his cultivation journey.
If anyone else knew how he was feeling, in light of his recent feats, they would find themselves wishing they could beat Gilgamesh to death.
The white sky had not vanished, so Gilgamesh broke through to the Tenth level and pushed his tenth meridian to the upper limit.
The very second he reached the limit of his tenth meridian, he felt the entirety of reality within the Last Page begin to grate against the pressure his aura was creating.
Although his soul had no gotten significantly stronger, the strength of his body and quality of his energy had risen exponentially.
Now that he was at the Peak of Condensation, the dimension could no longer support any further advancement.
He knew that if he tried, the entirety of the Last Page would likely crumble.
Although he did not wish to destroy this dimension, he felt excited when he thought about it.
'By just trying to cultivate now, I can destroy hundreds of universes. Sigh. Gilgamesh, you scare even me sometimes.' He thought to himself, looking every bit pompous and conceited as he did so.
"You're thinking vain thoughts again, aren't you!" Little Feather suddenly snapped him out of his self-worship.
"No, no- of course not! I was just thinking about how my adorable Little Feather is gonna start training under me. I can't wait."
Little Feather seemed unconvinced, "You lie so well sometimes, but in times like these you can't lie well at all."
Gilgamesh just laughed.
When they were finished with their lighthearted conversation, he looked at Wyg and Law.
"Let's go, then. Take me to a dimension that can support my advancement to the Formation stage."
Wyg and Law exchanged looks, and they both seemed hesitant to say what was on their minds.
Gilgamesh impatiently went to the Omniscient Author.
'They're probably too scared to tell you that you can't go skipping Pages all willy-nilly. You need to pass through each Page, like if you're reading a book you're interested in.'
'It's the only way forward, for you, as you started off on the Last Page.'
Gilgamesh sighed, "So that's it."
Remembering Gilgamesh's claim to possess omniscience, Wyg and Law nodded in agreement, not even bothering to ask him what he had figured out.
Gilgamesh slowly nodded and looked to the clueless Little Feather as she tilted her head.
"Hm?" She looked cutely at her Big Brother.
Gilgamesh smiled and ruffled her hair a little. "Come, sister, your brother is going to take you on a journey."
"From this moment onward, your training will begin."
