Gilgamesh put the new and improved Soul-Spark into his void ring, and then used the Obscure Spark to replenish his own energy.
However, he realized that it was unable to quickly replenish all of his true energy. Not only did he have more than 100,000 cycles worth, but his true energy was also of an exceptionally high quality.
Even so, it was a lot faster than the energy gathering method. The only con was that it required a lot of stamina to keep fueling it.
On the plus side, however, he could easily circulate some true energy to make up for that stamina drain.
He suddenly thought of something, and he frowned.
'Author!'
'Hm? What is it?'
'Why is it that using these seeds of the Divine Ones is taking so much of my true energy? I didn't even have true energy when I used them before.'
'Oh? It's for the same reason that you need to supply me with true energy. My Master abandoned me, so I no longer have a place to draw my power from. Therefore, I need to draw it from my new Master: you."
'The Obscure Spark and Endless Cycle that you've woken up belong to you, and are no longer connected to their original selves. You are also their Master, so you must provide a source of energy for them as well.'
Hearing this, Gilgamesh suddenly felt a profound sense of regret.
When he slowly calculated just how much true energy he had used just now, he realized that it had taken around 85,000 cycles worth of energy.
Even so, Gilgamesh did not hesitate to call upon his inherent nature once more.
"Brother Mind!"
"Brother Power!"
The Omniscient Author silently tried to commit suicide as it saw all four Divine Ones reuniting in Gilgamesh's sea of energy.
"What now, Gilgamesh? You up to murder some nuns, or what?" Law asked as he spun his nunchucks.
"Did you forget what I came here to do? I'm going to destroy this temple." Gilgamesh grinned and snickered.
Wyg was looking down at his sword with a deep sense of longing, and he sighed as they came out of the dark room.
"Gilgamesh, can you perhaps create a new spirit tool for me? Just like this one?"
Gilgamesh appeared to be in deep thought for a while before he took a deep breath and shook his head.
He had just asked the Omniscient Author, and had robbed himself of another 10,000 cycles worth of energy.
The Obscure Spark was doing its work, but it could not possibly keep up with this kind of expenditure.
He needed to increase his total true energy.
He had only asked because he knew that the natures within him were not actually at the level of the Divine Ones themselves.
He could feel the difference. Although they possessed the same abilities, they were not functioning at the same level.
This was also because their very existence was in conflict with the Divine Ones.
The Obscure Spark already existed, and Gilgamesh's Obscure Spark was a newborn weakling. It couldn't command too much of that power.
The same could be said for all of the others.
He likely needed to find beings blessed by one of the four Divine Ones and absorb more of their power.
Gilgamesh sighed as he thought of this, and instead decided to focus on the task at hand.
While desperately trying to recover true energy with the Obscure Spark, he made the seed of Truth's Mind take them outside and into the town.
"Whoa!" Law exclaimed in shock.
"Teleportation?" Isn't that something that only those at the Embryonic Soul stage can do?" Wyg asked, amazed.
Gilgamesh wobbled a bit and sat on the temple stairs, "It wasn't as simple... as that..."
Gilgamesh panted between phrases, and Wyg and Law rushed to his side to offer him a hand.
"No, no. I'm fine. I just need to do one more thing."
Commanding the miniature Truth's Mind once again, Gilgamesh used the last of his true energy to provide it with the means to utilize its power.
As he did so, cracks started to spread out across the pillars and the very foundation of the temple.
Gilgamesh stood up weakly and pointed into the distance, "We need to run! Now!"
Wyg and Law wasted no time, and they took off running. However, after looking back, they saw Gilgamesh lying flat on his face, shouting for them to run.
In truth, he had already passed out from overexertion of true energy.
Wyg and Law went back for him, and ran from the slowly destablizing temple with careless abandon.
It was not long before they were outside the town, and they turned to see the aftermath of Gilgamesh attack.
Slowly but surely, the temple came apart at various points and started to crumble and collapse in on itself.
Any of the unfortunate souls trapped within were undoubtedly crushed, and the cloud of dust it generated loomed over the entire town.
Wyg and Law were about to take Gilgamesh and head back to the sect, but he suddenly broke free from his unconscious state.
"Write my name ...on the wall. Let them know.... Gilgamesh was here..."
He fell unconscious once again.
Even so, Law and Wyg made sure to leave a mark of Gilgamesh's presence, and then returned to the sect in haste.
Chaos would surely spread throughout the Town of Tribes, but with the Holy Shaman's enchantment broken following her death, they would likely not miss the temple.
However, they would forever be baffled by how such a structure had randomly fallen.
As for the name left behind, written on the wall...
It would not take long at all before they heard echoes of that name coming from all over the world.
Above the confines of that world, in the heavens of heavens...
Lord Cloud raced through the world of 12-colored clouds, closely followed by the Heavenly Master.
They arrived at an open spatial gate leading to one of many solar systems, and Lord Cloud waited for the Heavenly Master to enter before he did.
Once they left the heavens of heavens behind, they entered the void of space within the solar system that Lord Cloud was charged with overseeing.
They flew throught space as a mighty true energy nature covered their bodies, and arrived at a large planet.
"This is the world, Heavenly Master. Gilgamesh is currently in the Ancient Forest Nation."
The Heavenly Master glanced at the world before the image of Truth's Mind on his forehead glowed.
"I see him. Let's go."
The Heavenly Master had raised his hand to create a path through space, but he sensed someone approaching and turned his head to the right.
When he did so, he saw an exceptionally beautiful woman, clothed in a robe of 24 colors that glowed in an even stranger way than their clothes made of starlight.
She was Andromeda, the being that had been masquerading as Sister Rose.
The Heavenly Master saw her and lowered his head. "Your Majesty."
Lord Cloud had no idea who she was, but he was no fool. He lowered himself and bowed at her with the utmost respect.
"A pleasure to see you, Captain Byron. Happy to see you're taking good care of this galaxy."
The Heavenly Master kept his head low, "Your praise is wasted on me, Lady."
Andromeda smiled and joined them in looking down at the planet.
"If you don't mind my asking, Majesty, how is it that you are here?"
Captain Byron, the 'Heavenly Master,' was most polite and respectful. Lord Cloud had never seen him act so humble.
He quite liked seeing it, but he was careful to keep his enjoyment hidden.
"Just over 21 years ago, something fell from beyond the Domain of Light and shot through our dimension, crashing somewhere."
"I personally tracked it down and was able to find where it had landed. That place was actually this world."
Both the Heavenly Master and Lord Cloud tensed when they heard this. If this world was special to Andromeda, they would have to acquire her permission before they could proceed.
"I recall hearing something about that, but I hadn't seen or heard any of the other Captains mention what the object was."
Andromeda flashed a smile that threatened to sweep Lord Cloud off his feet. He had to bite down on his tongue in order to stay strong.
"I found it, as did two other little mortals. It turns out that the object was a child, sealed within a material that not even I could break."
"That child was encased within a single, preserved moment in time, and thus could not age until it came out from within the sealed space."
Realization had already dawned on Lord Cloud and Captain Byron.
"That child was Gilgamesh. I suspect that he is something far greater than anything we've come across, and I have high hopes for his potential."
"He may have what it takes to be the sharpest weapon in my arsenal."
Andromeda straightened up and her smile became a look of stern resolution.
"So, I want you to give it your all. If you kill him, then he was not worth my attention. If you can't kill him, I'm sure you'll be able to escape."
Andromeda coldly stared into Captain Byron's eyes. All trace of his confidence as the Heavenly Master was gone.
"You will do this for me, yes?"
Lord Cloud gulped, and the Heavenly Master lowered his head subserviently.
"Of course, Your Majesty."
