The vines from the black bat creep down the road making their way toward Alex. With sharp pointed teeth, Alex sniped all those vines that divert him from getting near the black bat. But the vines were not quitting. It retained on coming like an endless yarn.
Alex turned into a human again and leap towards him dodging every vine. He hardly gets close to him when he was yanked and thrown far away from the black bat.
Alex turned his head instantly to catch a glimpse of the one who pulled him but was unable as his head was heavy and blurry. But thanks to his good sense of smell, he could distinguish who it was.
I was waiting for your arrival. I knew the black bat won't come solitary. He will bring his dear sister as a backup wherever he goes. Good timing I will take the yield of both of you, Alex grinned as he shake his head to clear the sight.
Look at your situation. Ah, I pity you. After so many years I felt you've enhanced yourself. Seems like you've degraded more than ever. A soft mocking sound came like a piercing dagger from a girl who was standing in the gloss of him. It was the same white bat who was at Aiyana's place before.
Enhanced tsk...
The black bat spoke adding salt to the wound. A weak beast like you shouldn't attack just cause you're labeled as predator. Just stay at your mountains and let your subordinate run the errands for you. You aren't worth combatting. I presumed that you will give me a good fight before you die. But seems like you've been vulnerable since that day.
Listening to such words Alex's eyes again turned deep blue. A blue fog emerge from his whole body as he again turned into the beast. He without a single utterance ran towards the black bat. His momentum at this moment was phenomenal. With a blink of an eye, he was behind the black bat. He longed for his neck instead bite his shoulder as the reflex of the black bat was good adequately to protect him. The injury was deep and the teeth Alex had weren't typical. Blood was gushing like a river from the black bat's shoulder.
The white bat came rushing as she pulled her brother towards her. She clenched her fist as she flew up and just like her brother her body began growing vines that were moving toward Alex. The vines she had weren't typical. The vines were glowing white and were filled with thorns.
She expelled the thorns from her vines. Most of them were dodged but few maintained to scrape, Alex. She was happy as she said," These aren't typical thorns. They are covered in venom. You won't be able to survive this. Farewell old friend hope you meet the one you lost long ago. Thank me later".
After ending her words she turned back to her brother just to see another wolf standing in front of her. The wolf leaped on her and bite her neck in an instant not giving her a single chance to evade. The white bat struggled to free herself while her injured brother wrap his black vines around the wolf. The vines were constricting the wolf making it cough the blood. The white bat was capable to free herself within the time limit but was badly injured.
Zinnia!!!
Alex throw some cutlasses to cut those vines as he reached his hand to take up her injured sister. He then summoned the sword in one hand and support her sister in the other hand. Both bat siblings were badly injured so does the wolf siblings. Yet the bats managed to send their vines toward them. Alex cut them all but the vines were never-ending. He was running his limit. He rests Zinnia near his car dodging all the vines.
His hands were shaking, the sweat was dripping like water droplets, and blood flowing from his head yet his hands were moving without rest. He looked as pathetic as he possibly could. He glimpsed at Zinnia who was gritting her teeth with bitterness and looked at those bats. He closed his eyes as he recalled those vines wringing the neck of a girl.
His sword emits his inner rage as he ran at light speed making it tough to spot him. Within an instant, two petals like wings fell on the dirt. No one was able to tell what just ensue as everything happen abruptly.
Alex's sword was dripping the dark scarlet blood. Two black petals were lying on the ground. The black bat suddenly gets down on his knees. The white bat was unable to move as her eyes were glancing at her brother in shock.
Those weren't mere wings. Those were their vitalities. They were the petals of a flower. Without the petal, a flower is not a flower.
"Feel the loss, feel the pain that I felt. See the one you adore die in front of you and experience the depth of sorrow. Suffer...Suffer as I did. Shed the tears of despair as I did". Alex brimmed as he pointed his sword toward her. His voice was calm yet it was filled with utmost hatred.
The white bat was too dumbfounded to speak. The siblings had never forfeited a battle and here her brother was perishing in front of her eyes. She wiped her tears and compiled herself. A black mist surrounded her as she flew towards Alex but she instantly fell to the ground. Immediately after she kneeled on the ground her wings too fell off.
"Black and white haze, glittery pollen grains shining in dark, fallen petals embellishing the earth. My god, you were the breathtaking siblings of mystery back then more like a misery now". Zinnia grinned coughing the blood.
Though the crimson red rivulet has flooded this road, though you have the upper hand now, we shall come back stronger. Wait for the day and...
The white bat didn't even finish her sentence when Zinnia suddenly throw her dagger that pierced straight through her temple.
The day will never come. She smirked and passed out.
The white bat lies on the ground lifeless. The black bat was already losing his voice and his vision was blurry due to blood loss. Still, he struggled to reach her sister, hold her hands and died.
Alex was trying to lift Zinnia. He was already feeble due to the poison in his body which makes his knees give up on supporting him. Suddenly he heard a familiar voice. He turned around and saw Dylan surging towards him.
What happened here? Dylan grabs Zinnia's hand to study her pulse.
She was constricted by the bat flower sibling's vines. Alex indicated his gaze toward the bat siblings who were slowly fading. Though they were unethical their petals glow as they withered and flew away amidst the highway.
