Chapter 4 - My cherished angel is not safe with me

"So you're saying that my son

disappeared, huh?"

While she sits on her stone throne with animal skin resting on it and hundreds of lovely men at her side waiting to her every beck and call like obedient lap dogs, a stunning woman with a curvaceous form and perfectly tanned body asks.

She appears to be in her 20s or 30s but is actually in her late 40s.

She is the Jaguar clan's female tribal chief, and her son, whose fur is as dark as darkness, is well-known.

A huge white bird sitting in the middle of the room is being studied by her while bowing respectfully and avoiding looking directly into her eyes.

"Yes, your majesty, I've searched everywhere for him. I even checked Nuxvaria, where he should be. It seems like he just vanished…" Not knowing what to say, the bird stumbled over its words.

When the bird said, "Nuxvaria," the expression on her face was impossible to discern.

She was not paying any attention to the bird with her eyes fixed elsewhere, and no one here but for her knows what she was thinking.

He left with his new acquaintance that he met at the market, and she is attempting to recall his last words to her. He stated something about wanting to meet a lovely female who would either make his life better or worse...

Like that unpleasant mantra she had been hearing for years, the words began to echo in her head.

"Your majesty?"

One of her mates posed a gentle but direct query. The queen instantly stood up and turned to face the man standing next to her while she waited for him to finish speaking.

The mate continued while trying to convey his sincerity to the queen by looking directly into her eyes, "I've heard the prince of the thorny devil tribe had just mastered his way up to level 6 which created a big impact on the adjacent woodland leading up to Caelkirk territory."

She heard but didn't really think about it, but now that he mentioned it, she's concerned that her son might have gotten wounded—only he's at level 3, so he could have been hurt by a falling tree. She nodded once to let him know that his words had caught her attention.

Mo Hai is fully inside the cave, as well the belongs that sat outside, She's glad she found shelter because not to long ago she heard thundering sounds of giant beasts rushing past like a herd of elephants, so loud they could shake the entire mountain.

Mo Hai is completely inside the cave, along with her possessions that were outside. She is relieved to have found safety because not too long ago, she overheard thunderous sounds of enormous beasts charging by like an elephant herd, so loud they could shake the mountain.

A small, portable gas stove with a small pot of boiling water on top of the burner is positioned in front of Mo Hai. Fuel canisters are scattered all around the stove.

And a small black ball of fur with golden eyes is sitting not too far away; it resembles the black panther she saw but is smaller and less intimidating-looking.

The small thing, who appeared battered and hungry, jumped inside the cave earlier while she was bringing the supplies inside and refused to come out.

She believes the jaguar she saw earlier is its mother, and she only feels awful for it because, in Mo Hai's mind, it's mother may have also been slain by a tree.

Given that she had heard that monkeys kidnap both toddlers and dogs even lion cubs, Mo refrained from being cruel and kicking out the poor creature.

Even though this isn't a lion cub or a dog and human child, She is still concerned because if the falling trees hadn't killed the cub, it might have been trampled to death if it had been sat aside.

With company, Mo Hai's food will be consumed more quickly than water in a desert.

She has a warm fire, excellent food, and is wise and cunning, and in Zou Guanting's mind, she is an angel from the sky.

As he struggled to reach level 4, he grimaced as he looked at his tiny black paws. He had regressed to when he was a young cub, and as a result, he is now weak and frail.

He needed to adapt because he can't defend this angel in this way.

Zou Guanting howled in anguish and rolled on the ground, howling in a way he had never done in all his years of existence.
