Chapter 83 - Are you drawing a map?

The next morning, when Nami woke up early, she already had a plan in place to try something without Luffy's help. This was because, after thinking about it all night, the unsettling sensation that Nami was experiencing became even more prominent.

But Nami didn't even have a chance to guess what was going on when she was walking down the aisle of the ship because she kept running into strange things. There were the marines who were seen walking back and forth, and several of the doors to the room that she had been able to easily enter before were now all locked.

"Did Luffy do something, or did Captain Hina also already know what's going on, and now she's wary of me?"

In order to double-check everything, Nami proceeded to the lower deck, and there was already a marine guarding the entrance, but after Nami made her point, they let her through.

When Nami entered the cramped and dark cell in the corner of the room, she could hear the sound of metal clashing and the muttering of a person who appeared to be desperate.

"Do you want to be free? I can help you."

After that, the two men who were in the cell looked at Nami, but their faces immediately revealed their dissatisfaction, and the man who was named Johnny immediately yelled angrily:

"You damn thief! Are you here to make fun of both of us?

Meanwhile, his friend Yosaku could only show a pitiful face as he was on the verge of crying, and Nami, who had previously wanted to say evil, suppressed her intentions and only sighed before replying:

"I actually feel sorry for you guys as well, but since you guys are trying to take my money, I have no other choice."

Johnny immediately remarked mock-outrageously, "What your money! After tracking down and catching all of those pirates, this is all of the money that Yosaku and I worked so hard to earn.

As soon as Nami heard the word "pirates," she immediately became speechless because it brought back memories of Arlong and his crew. Nami's mood, which had been normal up until this point, has deteriorated, so she got straight to the point:

"Did you two manage to convince these marines and Captain Hina?"

Seeing Johnny, who was about to get angry again, Yosaku took the initiative to answer by saying, "If we have succeeded in convincing them, we have already left this cell yesterday... hey Nami, can you get us out? we promise the money you stole from us will be yours." Johnny was visibly shaken by what Yosaku said.

Nami simply smiled before turning around and intending to walk away, but before she did so, she said, "Alright, but not now because I'm still busy taking care of something. I will ask these marines to let you two go when the time comes."

"Damn it, it seems there really is something strange here, and somehow I feel that Luffy is the culprit," I muttered angrily as I became frustrated because no matter how long I waited, the marines, who are typically slackers, suddenly became very disciplined when every one of them doesn't get tired of guarding the corridors and rooms on this ship.

"what are you doing in this place?"

I was suddenly startled by someone's voice, and when I saw Makino standing in front of me, I breathed a sigh of relief. If anyone else had suspected me again, my time on this ship would have been shortened.

"I'm going to see Luffy. Do you think he's in his room right now?"

After I observed clearly, this woman named Makino was really beautiful. She also liked to smile. Her gentle and simple demeanor made me feel comfortable around her.

'Really, she looks so much like Bell-mère,' I thought.

"Ohh, if you're looking for Luffy, he's still in his room..." Following a brief pause during which Makino rubbed the area around her groin, she continued:

"You can accompany him for a while. I will come and bring breakfast for both of you."

After that, Makino hurriedly walked away, but I was surprised when the woman's footsteps felt a bit strange, but I just shook my head and continued to go to Luffy's room.

"Hey, Luffy-"

When I was trying to talk, Luffy, who was already inside, interrupted me by saying, "Come in. The door is unlocked."

Without feeling any hesitation, I then entered, and once inside, I could see that Luffy was working on something on the table and that there were already scattered papers, books, and even the bed looked messy.

"Your room sure smells," I commented because my nose quickly picked up a strange odor in this room, but Luffy didn't seem to care and continued on with what he was doing.

"Are you drawing a map?..."

When I found out that Luffy was drawing a map, my first reaction was excitement because drawing maps is also one of my hobbies. Yet, as soon as I saw the map he was working on, I was rendered completely speechless.

"This is Conomi Islands which is near here. What do you think?" asked Luffy, and as usual, his smile seemed to imply something.

I honestly mumbled, "Yeah, I know, that's my hometown," and Luffy didn't seem surprised by my response; nevertheless, he quickly changed the subject and began speaking about something else:

"So? Have you thought about it properly?"

"Before I get into that, I have a question for you. Were you the one who ordered the Marines to act like that?"

I glared at Luffy as if I wanted him to confess, but this boy, who was the same age as me, didn't seem like an ordinary kid either because he seemed more crafty than I did.

"Are you stupid? I'm not the captain of this ship. If you want to look for someone to suspect, look for Captain Hina. She might just pretend to believe you even though she already knows what's really going on."

'But if this is indeed the work of Captain Hina, how come Johnny and Yosaku are still being held in the cell-'

My train of thought was broken when Luffy grabbed my hand and hugged me without warning. I could hear how his breathing became heavy, and before I could scream or get away from him, he said:

"I'm joking, I was the one who ordered those marines, and if you don't make up your mind quickly, I will keep you imprisoned on this ship for the rest of your life, and you will never be able to go back to your hometown."
