Chapter 2 - Vice Admiral of the Marines, right?

Luffy was struggling desperately to keep his grip on the table, but his grandpa, Garp, was pulling him away with force. Garp forcibly pulled his body away from the table in front of him, the other customers in the bar, who were locals of Foosha village, could be seen smiling and laughing as if they were accustomed to seeing this sight.

When the woman with dark green hair saw how reluctant Luffy appeared to be about training with his grandpa, she became concerned and asked, "Aren't you being too hard on Luffy?"

"You have pampered him far too much, Makino! In order to be a man, he needs to be strong, and early training is absolutely necessary," Garp gave a resounding response, and he continued to pull on Luffy, who was adamant about not letting go of the table.

This woman with dark green hair has been revealed to be named Makino, and it seems that she has a genuine concern for Luffy. In addition, she is the one who tends to the wounds that Luffy sustains as a result of his training, so she is aware of how challenging Luffy's training has been.

"I don't want... *sob... no... help me... If grandpa abandons me in the woods once more, I might not make it out alive, "yelled Luffy as tears welled up in his eyes.

But Garp, who was known to be stern and disciplined, didn't seem to care when he said, "you stubborn child! let go of your hand!"

Finally, Garp, who was already irritated, hit Luffy hard in the head. At that point, Luffy immediately let go of his hand and immediately rubbed his now swollen head while crying.

When Makino saw Luffy being dragged out of the bar by Garp, she muttered, "Poor Luffy," as she looked at the grandson and grandpa duo leave.

Garp yelled after her with a laughter, "Thank you for always taking care of Luffy, and I'm sorry for all the trouble he caused at your bar, Makino," as he left the bar.

After that, Makino dashed out of the bar to give a response. But she could no longer see Garp and Luffy, so all she could do was take a deep breath and hope that Luffy would be all right.

Makino was startled when an elderly man with a short stature who was holding a cane in his right hand approached him and began asking, "is Garp back?"

"Chief!" Makino yelled out in surprise, but she then smiled wryly and nodded her head.

"Is that so? Is he dragging Luffy to go training again this time?"

"Even though I worked hard to put a stop to it, it looks like my efforts were in vain."

After a brief moment of silence, the old man who presided over the village spoke up and cautioned the young woman, saying, "you had better not interfere. Have you forgotten Garp's true identity?"

"Vice Admiral of the Marines, right?"

"Yeah, so Garp's teaching on Luffy may seem harsh, but we both know it will be useful for Luffy to face this cruel world."

Now it is Makino's turn to keep quiet because she is aware that what the Chief has stated is accurate, and she, who is not a member of Luffy's family, also has no right to interfere in this matter.

On the footpath in the village of Foosha, surrounded by wide green grass with farms and fields, you can see a middle-aged man who appears to be on vacation. This middle-aged man has a touch of gray in his hair and is dressed casually, wearing shorts and everyday clothing.

It turned out that this middle-aged man was also dragging a boy by his clothes, and judging by the boy's frustrated expression, it seemed as though he was being forced to come along for the ride.

"How are you, Luffy? After I've been gone for a while, have you gotten stronger?" questioned Garp in a loud voice, and with a broad grin on his face, he gave off the impression that he was enjoying himself today.

Luffy responded curtly and mockingly, "I don't know," and soon regretted his response because Garp continued to hit him hard on the head and asked Luffy to answer seriously.

While he was rubbing his head, Luffy, who didn't want to get hit again, hurriedly said, "I really don't know, but I think I'm very strong in this village. Other kids don't even dare to fight me anymore."

Garp simply nodded his head while listening to Luffy, and when Luffy had finished speaking, Garp smacked him on the head again while asking, "What's so great about fighting with the kids in that village?"

An enraged Luffy yelled, "ugh...why did you hit me? "but he followed up his outburst by saying, "of course that was great, you could say I already rule this village..."

"hahahahaha, rule the village, huh" That made Garp laugh, but then he shook his head and offered Luffy some advice:

"If you can beat the animals in the forest, that's a sign you've grown stronger, understand."

Even though he disagreed with it, he still nodded his head while muttering, "how can I beat those very big animals? What's left is that I will die instead."

"Oh yes, one more thing, because your future will be in the Marines, so understand that you are not trying to take control of this village. Rather, you are protecting it."

"Who wants to be a Marine, you stinky old man."

*smack

"What did you say?"

Luffy, who was beginning to feel lightheaded from all of the punches that his grandpa had thrown, could only nod his head and say, "I understand."

"That's good."

After that, the two of them traveled to a forest not too far from the village, and when they got there, Garp threw Luffy roughly while telling him, "from now on, you will live in this forest."

Luffy, who already knew what was going to happen, began crying and pleading with his grandpa, but Garp responded to his pleading by punching him in the face. As a result, Luffy had no choice but to give in and obey his grandpa.
