Constance's eyes quivered open.
Feeling a mild headache, her eyes remained hazy for quite sometime before any semblance of clarity returned.
Sensing the mild sun rays falling upon her body, she tried to prop herself up, but for some reason, she couldn't.
As her consciousness crawled back, memories of the last night soon flooded her mind.
"Oh, Goddess!" Her sapphire blue eyes shot wide as she forcefully pushed herself, relying entirely on the agility and strength of her body.
"What did I do?" A look of panicked horror crept up her face as she glanced at the still icy chains, feeling the coldness seeping from them.
She didn't remember much after she was kissed by Kole and that memory made goosebumps crawl all over her skin. After that, everything was like a hazy dream.
Hurriedly using her strength, she broke these chains effortlessly since they had already melted quite a bit.
Her heart skipped a beat as she noticed the nakedness of her body.
Quickly rolling the sheets over, she looked over at her secret garden in a panic.
Fortunately, it was still covered in a thin sheet of fabric with no harm being done except the fact that it was rather damp.
Phew~ She heaved a sigh of relief.
What came over me? What was I doing yesterday?... She felt her heart getting pounded after remembering the kiss that Kole had enforced upon her.

She was shocked and felt violated that someone had just walked into her private space like it wasn't a big deal. Her heart raced as she tried to process what was happening.
But it didn't take her long to notice the man's profane gaze on her body as he wantonly ogled with desire.
"Oh, my Goddess!!!" Grabbing whatever came into her hand, Constance covered herself in a panic.
"Oops. I beg your pardon for my sudden intrusion, my lady! But I'm here to remind you of something important..." Kole coolly smirked.

However, all it did was make Kole chuckle with an amusing light flashing in his eyes.
"To be honest, I did find you pretty…" He said in an appeasing tone.
Constance blushed furiously, with a crimson glow spreading on her cheeks.
How can someone be so shameless?
"But I hate your attitude…" He continued as his tone changed to a neutral one.
"Nobody talks to me like that… and the only one who actually dared to last time is someone whom the likes of you can't compare with!" His voice thickened.
He was talking about Caroline. She was special to him and had been more like a mother, friend, and sister. It was okay if she had been a little rude, but Constance?
"Just who the fuck do you think you are, ignorant brat?" Kole's expression turned callous with extreme apathy as if he was overlooking a subject as he said with intense bluntness.
His eyes turned dark… very dark.
Constance was taken aback to hear such coarse language coming from a gentleman.
Aren't you supposed to be more dignified?
"This isn't your home, Miss Houston!" Kole reminded her in a domineering tone.
"And you have overstayed your presence — a presence that nobody appreciates. If not for the fact that your father is a Duke, I would've thrown you out in all your glory!"
The lady felt devasted that her pride was being stepped upon like this. Not only Kole didn't care about her privacy, but even threatened to humiliate her in public!
Her anger flared up as she heard such rude words coming from someone who should know better.
Constance was about to respond when his successive words stunned her, making her fury vanish in an instant.
Kole sighed, "If you try remembering the events of last night, you should be able to register the fact in that prideful brain of yours that you didn't act like yourself yesterday."
Thinking for a brief second, Kole decided to throw the ball into dead Otto's court, shamelessly.
"Your dress has 'corrupted' gems acting like low-level Artifacts spreading a mental plague. If I were you, I would be thinking who gave me the dress, or where did I buy it from." Saying in a humorless tone with an unsmiling expression, Kole continued, "Now get lost within an hour from here! If you dare to test my patience, I might as well really throw you off in some filthy street of South Grovebourne!"
"Take this." He threw an ordinary dress that he got from Caroline on the bed. Kole locked eyes with Constance, as a show of dominance that he was in charge before turning around and leaving the room.

Kole frowned when he noticed the emblem of a shiny silver sword and shield with a navy-blue background embedded on the front and sides of the steam car.
He felt confused and bewildered as he saw the steam car coming closer.
"Why are the Police here?"
What was going on? He had no idea why they were there.
