'Dad? W-what..?'

There he was, laying on the ground with blood all over his body.

'Dad! Please wake up.. don't leave me and mom.. please.'

I woke up letting out a scream come out of my mouth. It's been a while ever since I had these kinds of nightmares.

I wish they never came back.

I went downstairs to get milk from the kitchen so that I can finally sleep but to my surprise, we ran out of milk. I swear I just bought 10 boxes of milk last week.

I didn't know what to do and so, I went upstairs and wow. I gazed at the blue moon that was shining so beautifully. It reminded me of my father's beautiful bright ocean eyes. It was so mesmerising that I didn't even notice that I was staring at it for almost half an hour.

I never thought a blue moon would be this beautiful.

After a few hours of gazing at the sky, I fell asleep at the sight of a beautiful blue moon that people can rarely even witness or see.

Maybe it would be wonderful if I ask Hailey to watch the moon with me.

I'm sure she'll like it.

I woke up quite late since I stayed up all night staring at the moon.

Good thing I'm on my Christmas vacation right now and I don't have school.

As I went downstairs, I noticed my mom decorating the Christmas tree, and cooking TONS of food.

I thought some guests were coming but then I looked at my phone and saw that...

It was already Christmas!?

Time flies so fast when I'm having fun that I didn't even notice it was already Christmas. My mom noticed that I was finally awake and turned her face against mine and greeted me with a smile.

"Good morning, Karli. Could you please buy some ham, cheese, plastic cups..." and so, she began to tell me to buy some stuff and more random things that we probably don't even need.

"And before you go, take a bath first. I don't want you to go to the supermarket looking like a homeless kid."

Now that was kinda too far but yeah, I went to the bathroom and took a bath because I actually smelled like a homeless kid.

After a few minutes, I went to buy all the things my mom wanted me to buy that we can probably use in the next 3 Christmas that will arrive.

I took a shopping cart and began to find all the random things my mother told me to buy.

While I was trying to find the milk, I bumped into someone who looked.. quite familiar?

Long dark hair, brown eyes, bright and beautiful smile. Yeah, it really was her.

"Karli? So you're shopping here too. Where are your parents?"

"Oh, hey Hailey! And well, I usually go shopping alone since my mom and grandma are cooking at home."

"Well, I see.."

We started talking about our plans during Christmas until a tall woman who seemed to be her mother walked towards the both of us.

"Is this your friend, hun? Merry Christmas darling. I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation but we have to go home now. I'm sure you both can see each other after a few weeks." said her mother who seemed to be kind.

And so, I began looking for the milk and after almost about half an hour, I finally saw the greatest and most beautiful thing in the world.

Milk.

After 3 hours, finally finished shopping and began to walk to the counter.

I swear I bought too many things we didn't need that the guy who was putting all the things people bought in a paper bag needed to use a box. And so, I walked to our house while carrying a literal box with me. I wasn't even halfway close to our house but I was already tired.

After a while, I finally gave up and rested on a small bench that looked like it was about to collapse. After a few minutes, I picked up the box and started walking...again.

After like, 20 minutes or so, I finally managed to come back inside our house without getting robbed or even worse than that.

"Mom I'm home!"

"Welcome back honey. What took you so long?" said my mother, looking worried

"Oh I don't know, maybe because I carried a literal box all the way here?" I mumbled.

"*sigh* I should've had took someone to come with you.. anyways, can you..."

And after that, she began to tell me to do some stuff and all and yeah that's about it.

We began to decorate the house with Christmas lights and more shiny stuff that I don't even know. After a while, we finally finished decorating the whole house. We had fun that we didn't notice that it was already time to eat.

"Uh, mom? Why did you cook so much food if there are only 3 of us who will celebrate Christmas together."

"And who said it will only be the 3 of us again? Come inside everyone!"

And so, the door opened and there were my friends and some people who were probably my mother's friends or colleagues. She also invited some of our neighbors.

"I invited some people over to celebrate Christmas with us. I also invited your friends so that you could finally have people who are like your second family to spend time with you during a special occasion."

I was so happy that my mom did all of this just for me. I hugged her so tight that she probably couldn't breathe. And so, we began to eat, and wow. The food was so amazing! No matter how many 5-star chefs are in the world, my mother would always be the best chef to me. After a while, my mother and the other adults started drinking while me and my friends started talking about random events that happened lately and which, we laughed at.

"This was the best Christmas I ever had.. especially because all of you guys are here to celebrate it with me.. even Ethan is here. I wish Hailey was here too.."

"Who said she wasn't?" said Ethan.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

And so, the door in my room opened and I saw the most beautiful girl in the world. A short female figure entered the room with a blue sparkling dress that reminded me of the blue moon that I saw last night. She then walked up to me and hugged me.

"Merry Christmas, Karli!" she said with a bright and beautiful smile on her face.

"Good thing her parents and I know each other so I managed to convince them to let Hailey come here." said Ethan

"Thanks, Ethan."

"No problem." he smiled at me.

And so, we continued talking about random things while eating. It may be simple, but it was fun for me. My friends being here with me is already enough. I looked at the balcony and noticed the beautiful snow dropping down from the sky. I went to the balcony and saw the beautiful moon that was shining bright. My friends caught up with me and gazed at the beautiful sky.

Among all of them, Hailey is the one who seemed to enjoy it the most. I knew I should've invited her to watch the moon. And so, we stared at the sky for a few minutes and began to play with the snow.

"Maybe we should go outside? It's more fun to play with the snow if there's more space."

And so, everyone agreed and we went downstairs and began playing outside like a bunch of 3 year olds even if we are almost adults. As we went outside, we saw a giant pile of snow. But because of Allan's stupidity, he jumped in the large pile of snow and his head got stuck. And because we are wonderful friends, we began laughing at him instead of helping him get out.

"Mwrmumrmr" said Allan. He wasn't able to speak clearly due to the snow in his whole head but he seemed to be asking for help so, we did help him to get out.

"Guys, thank you for celebrating Christmas with me. I hope I didn't trouble you guys." I said.

"It's no problem, we came here so that you can have more people to celebrate Christmas with. Besides, best friends always got each other's back right?" said Aerielle

And so, we then started to play with the snow and told ourselves to never jump on a giant pile of snow.
