"Then we call for backup," he smirks.
I take a minute to process what he just said. 'Back up? What kind of- oh no!' I shake my head.
'Dealing with one fallen angel is hard enough as it is but, dealing with hundreds of them is unthinkable. I'm losing patience just thinking about it!' Shock and horror sank into the pit of my stomach. 'Oh heaven no!'
"You want to summon more demons?" I look at him in disbelief, "Do you know how much effort that is? Summoning you took up a solid portion of my strength."
He summons his own summoning book and flips through the pages. A devious grin crawled across his sinful face, and his cat-like eyes settled on me as if assessing a sculpture.
"Well you have me now, and God still has leftover power here," I look at him confused, he continues, "if God had truly taken all his powers and left I wouldn't be searing cloudfluff with every step I take."
I can't believe I didn't notice it earlier, "when the angels fell God said that by their power, who fall would never be welcome back on this cloudfluff again," I look at the soil under Azazel's feet, "if God had left with all their powers, you would be allowed back on heaven's cloud."
"There you go, Princess! Now you're getting it," he laughs.
"So you're saying, that we use whatever God left behind to assist in summoning a couple more fallen angels," I clarify.
"Not just a couple more," Azazel pauses, "we need major help to save Heaven," he gestures to the field.
I know what he's thinking before he even says it, "No way! Even with God's power that will kill me! I don't have that kind of power," I start to pace back and forth, "Are you crazy?"
"Yes, I am crazy!" Azazel grabs me by the shoulders and shakes me lightly, "Meta, you have me here, and with God's parting gift, we have the power to do it."
"Why would you want to do this anyway, isn't it too much effort?" I cross my arms and glare at him.
"All I would do is sit here and feel my power drain out of me," he shrugs, "it's one of two things I do on a daily basis."
I raise my eyebrow and he winks. I still don't know what that's supposed to mean.
I sigh, "Fine if you think this is going to work let's do it," I smile, "let's raise hell."
"Yeah let's do it!" he smirks, flipping through the pages of his summoning book.
His yellow eyes roved down each of the pages, marking each demon in order of priority. Lucifer sitting at the bottom because nobody wants to deal with him unless they absolutely have to. Even the other fallen angels could only handle so much of his attitude. He's always been a genuinely unpleasant guy.
Watching Azazel, you could see him buzzing with excitement. This is the most excitement he's shown since I summoned him. I'm kind of impressed.
His excitement was contagious, and soon enough I couldn't help feeling genuinely excited. I would get to see some of my siblings again!
