They stepped inside the main hall of Carver Hall after they followed the trail over to the doors of the hall. They didn't have a long walk after the bridge with it only being less than five minutes away from that point.
Alice glanced over at Noah knowing that they both snuck out here most days to climb up the ladder that was hidden behind the school while being tucked away. He shook his head at her knowing that she wanted to say something.
She was there last week for the most recent meeting when she was able to leave after her class before the hour break, and that day, Noah was completely gassed out, not bothering to wake up when she arrived to have her lunch.
She was going to wake him up but decided against it since he was sleeping so soundly on the bench rather than on top of the shack as he normally did with one arm tossed over his eyes leisurely.
Alice ended up sitting on the ground while leaning her back on the bench, and she was able to kick back and relax while hearing Noah's soft breaths behind her only adding to the slow atmosphere that she often sought out.
They made it to the main glass doors of the entrance, and Rowan pulled the door open with them all piling inside before the door swung back closed with a soft hissing click behind them.
Alice was all too familiar with the signature of the building which was the fact that the ceilings were hand-painted with vibrant colors and swirls along morals of items and entities that would span from room to room, but she still was stuck by their beauty every single time.
The main entrance hall that many large circular tables spread throughout the area was empty which made sense considering that there weren't many students that came over to this building anyway along with the water feature that was located in the center near the glass elevator.
The trickling sound of water from the waterfall feature that prettily dropped with a soft landing added to her loud thoughts despite the solitude area, but it was also clear that most people were still in classes of course.
In the center of Carver Hall, there is a gaping opening in the ceiling that spanned up the four floors adding dimension to the overall architecture of the place despite already being intricately stunning with the elevator going straight through as a glass pillar.
Alice took her eyes from above after taking in all the colorful artwork and beauty before letting them fall on Rowan when he suddenly started heading over to the stairs with his arms crossed.
There was a sudden stand-off when Claudia paused and said out loud the question that Alice was also thinking which Claudia immediately voiced, "Why are we taking the stairs when the elevators are right there?"
Noah pivoted his body back and shrugged. "Sorry, habit here."
"But, stairs are good for exercise," Rowan added. "It doesn't hurt to the stairs."
Claudia pursed her lips. "No. They definitely do hurt."
Alice hid her laugh behind the back of her hand. "It's not that big of a deal, guys."
Noah shrugged. "I have no preference either."
"If that's the case..." Rowan trailed off.
"What?" Claudia questioned.
Rowan took off into a sprint, so fast which was probably normal for him, but Alice's eyes widened in amazement at such close proximity. Claudia froze as she watched him work his element only for her to get her gears going and chase after him, hissing for him to come back in a low voice to not disturb the calm element that was found in this Hall.
Alice burst laughing and glanced over at Noah. "What are we going to do with them?"
"I swear I don't know why Rowan's acting like that," Noah muttered.
Alice continued laughing at Noah's expression. "Well, it's refreshing. Let's follow them before they make even more of a ruckus."
"Not going to lie though, taking the stairs is definitely a pain," Noah warned.
"This is why the elevator would have been better," Alice sang. "But why do you even bother doing the stairs?"
They started their ascent up the pearly white staircase. The main staircase went through the entire building's floors if one was the peer over the edge seeming to replicate the look of a mall that I would often visit as a child, but less wearily like wonderful.
Noah shrugged. "Like I said earlier, I have no preference for their way of transportation that would take longer than a few minutes. It was just that I liked warming up my body for a little while after sitting all day long."
"For sure, I totally understand now," Noah answered.
