Alice patted her locker for a moment idly since she was contemplating what their next move should be. Tilting her head over at Noah, she wondered if he had any ideas since all that she could think of at the moment was to walk idly to find random students that they would come across.
Noah crossed his arms. "It would be best to go outside first to not disturb any ongoing classes at the moment."
Rowan nodded. "Yeah. It would also be boring to stand outside underclassmen classrooms only to pounce on them later."
"That's true," Alice agreed. "We shouldn't be a distraction or disturbance."
Claudia shrugged. "I mean, we could just sit outside and soak up the sun while we think of something else too."
"Yes," Alice smiled. "Let's do that."
They took their time walking down the grand staircase in the main building of the academy before curving around the corner to find the massive glass doors that would lead out to the courtyard.
Noah was still holding onto the camera that she handed over to him, but she left him with it since she was holding onto the microphone for the interviews. Claudia had the clipboard with the criteria and specifications on hand with Rowan carrying the audio equipment that they would need for the interviews.
In turn, the jobs were split neatly, and Alice was honestly excited to get started since she liked to do work that pertained to improving a skill that she would have to do in the future which also dealt with being in front of a camera.
Rowan pushed the glass doors open, and as they all stepped outside, the blinding sunshine was what greeted them. Alice blinked rapidly to get her eyes adjusted to the change in lighting and took in the greenery.
Out in the courtyard was as busy as she had expected with the upperclassmen taking their time outside gathered in their groups with little blankets in the grass as they were discussing matters that she was sure were about the project.
The scene would occur often with many students at the academy taking advantage of the nicely kept area since it was quite the nice study spot for a change of pace with the fresh air for a stark sense of something new.
It felt like a quaint movie scene, and Alice looked around trying to figure out what they should do. The underclassmen students were still in class, so they either had to wait until the end of the school day to find people to interview or catch them as they were walking to their classes.
It would seem that catching students walking to their class would be the better option, knowing that it would be quite the tight squeeze in schedule for those that needed to rush to their next class making Alice hope that they were able to catch flexible people.
The main building consisted of classes that were primarily projected toward the upperclassmen, so the chances of finding someone younger weren't likely to happen unless they exited to go look elsewhere.
They would have to go to one of the other three buildings that surrounded the quad in the center of the academy which was no hardship at all, but Alice snickered to herself when half of her group mates were lost in their own world.
Noah and Rowan were up ahead talking about something with their heads inclined toward one another as if they were sharing a secret, and Alice turned to Claudia to get her opinion on what they should do next with the amusement present on her face.
The few students who ran off home after getting the assignment thinking that it was free time to do whatever they wanted were likely going to be hit with letters from the higher-ups since the academy was quite strict with their protocols despite students being rebellious about them anyway. Now that they were all getting older, it made sense that the students wanted to get out.
Alice didn't blame them since she felt the same way but knew that if she ever skipped a day, her head would get chewed off by her parents along with a meeting with the dean considering he had entrusted a lot of hope for her, so there was no way she was going to be poking that trauma in any way.
At least she hoped not, because as her last school year was coming to a close, she didn't want to deal with any more headaches as it was after stressing over her exams that would make or break her university applications that all third years were working so hard on.
There were a lot of items still needing to be crossed off her agenda, but it was best to move at a pace she knew she was able to accomplish rather than rushing herself to not give the best version of herself.
