I blocked her huge stone hammer, then she blocked my copper ax, then I blocked her hammer, then she blocked me again, and so we continued to exchange strikes uninterruptedly.
"You bitch! I'm gonna crush your skull, and cook your brains!" the girl with pigtails screamed while bashing repeatedly her weapon against mine.
"Try it", I answered, waking up Nopa, and following his instructions to avoid her attacks; as a spirit of war, he was one of the strongest beings when it came to fighting, so there was no way she could surprise him, and consequently I, with none of her moves.
"Too slow!", the girl with a pigtail screamed, conjuring a second larger hammer right above my head.
"Too previsible!" I stepped aside, grabbed the falling hammer by its handle, spun in place and was about to hit the thing on the pigtails girl's face, when she unmade the spell and I only temporarily blinded her with the magic waste of the object.
Then, I didn't only react to her actions, but took the initiative myself: I opened my hand, and conjured a lousy fireball, and hurled it at my enemy.
"Ha! Who is previsible now?", she conjured a curtain of water before her. Which stopped the fire, but not the bolder beneath it.
"Pam!", the rock hit my opponent right on her face, and she stumbled backwards, holding her bleeding head.
"You underestimate a professional, love", I smiled, grabbing the green stone carved with a prea on the pendant beneath my clothes. "I purposefully badly conjured a fire spell to make you use the wrong type of protection, but beneath the fire waste there was a more subtle earth waste."
"Double conjuring… Bitch… Fuck you", she said, still wobbling in place.
"Now, Coyote! Go after him! I'll take care of things here!"
"Are you sure?!", the hesitant coyote-boy stepped ahead.
"Look at him: he's way too fast. There's no way I can catch up with him. But you, with your explosion magic, can."
"Alright!", He finally took the opportunity that I created, and bypassed the pigtails girl, quickly following the last member of the invaders who was running away with our stolen treasures.
"You… do you really think that boy can do anything against our leader?"
"You'd be surprised of what he's capable of when he gets serious, love. Now, enough talking, I need to get you nice and unconscious."
"Only in your dreams!", the pigtails girl shouted, and conjured a dozen stone hammers, which sent flying towards me.
I had no choice, but to conjure extra muscle mass on my calves and thighs so I'd be able to move as fast as I needed, and dashed away from the barrage of incoming hammers, but unfortunately, right to where the pigtail girl wanted me to be.
"Strikes incoming from up and the left", Nopa told me… but even if I knew what she was about to do, it didn't mean I was capable of react in time.
I dodged the hammer that would've crushed my skull, but the one from my side hit me straight on my ribs, almost bending me in half.
I gritted my teeth bearing the pain, and tried to push the enemy away with a slash from my ax and recompose myself, but the pigtail girl saw straight through me, avoided that hit, and raised her hammer right above my head in another mortal blow.
"You're wounded and can't dodge this; block it with your axes", Nopa instructed me, and he didn't need to repeat himself, for I did exactly as he said.
Our weapons clashed, and I kept my head thankfully intact. Only for the enemy's weapon vanish in magical waste, and then be recreated right bellow my axes, hitting me in the face.
"HAHA! You're not the only one with tricks upon your sleeve, girl!"
"…Oh, love. Now you did it", I said, whipping my bloody nose with the back of my hand.
Using the remaining magical energy I still had, I conjured extra muscles on my arms and back, and got back to fighting; the enemy conjured hammer after hammer, and trying to lock weapons with her was meaningless, so I had to dodge all her attacks with Nopa's help. Meanwhile, she had to deal with my own barrage of slashes and cuts. We were both locked in combat, and it was clear that, at that point, the first one to commit a mistake would fall.
I slashed at the pigtails girl's left, and se blocked my ax with her hammer; I tried to kick her in the leg, but she kicked back, and our feet connected on each other; I tried to slash at her from the right, but she skillfully dodged my attack.
She tried to bash my head open again, but I stepped back; she tried to throw a hammer at my chest, but I bashed the weapon away with my ax; she tried to headbutt me, and it was finally my chance!
I lowered my on head, and replied to the enemy with the same attack.
"BONK!", our heads butted on one another. But she was the one who fell, eyes spinning, after the attack.
"Humph! To be the leader of those idiots, of course I need a strong head, darling."
I had won that duel. The rest was up to Coyote.
