Chapter 1 - Maid Revenge

Caroline, Caroline!

Open your door right now my parents shouted knocking at my door with urgency

Ah, what could they possibly want at this hour it's highly unlike for them to knock at my door at this time of the night, I said annoyed.

Your parents are so dramatic, I know right friend Emma, my best friend said on the phone.

I'll see what they want before they break down my door, see you at school tomorrow.

Alright, babe, Emma said and hung up the phone.

Caroline!

Yes I'm coming

My parents barge through my door

Mom, Dad what's wrong why do you two look so scared as if you have seen a ghost or as if the house is on fire?

Come with us this instant, we need to hide you my parents said hastily.

Mom, you guys are scaring me, they grabbed onto my arm, and we started rushing down the hall in the direction of my father's office.

He rushes over to his bookshelf pulls out an old book than a screen pop up

Woah, when did he get this installed, he started punching in some codes

Access denied a computer voice said.

This is all so confusing what is going on.

Richard hurry up they will be here any minute now my mother implores dad rubbing her palm and looking at the door as if she's waiting for someone to burst through.

I'm trying woman frustratedly my father replied to my mother.

Search everywhere if you find them kill them a raspy voice command downstairs

Yes, sir, a group of males replied

Mom, dad what's going on? who are these people? why are they here to kill us? I asked my voice trembling.

My parent didn't answer me, but I could see the fear in their eyes.

Suddenly there is a banging on the door

Sir the door is locked

Well then don't just stand there, break it down

The banging got louder and more persistent.

I was shaking now, I began to cry even harder.

Access Granted, the computer voice said relief washed over my father's face but only for a brief moment.

Caroline come my father said rushing with my mother trailing behind, he lead us into a room that appears to be a safe room.

Caroline listen carefully. Your mother and I don't have much time to explain everything to you.

Your mother and I got involved with some dangerous people which we regret but we can't undo the past and it seems like we are about to pay for our mistakes

We want you to stay in this room and don't come out no matter what you hear

Promise me

Dad, I cried

Promise me caroline, I promise

We can't let you pay for our sins.

You can't leave me here I said holding on to them crying even harder than before.

Caroline look at us and take this paper it has the address of an old friend of mine, tell them Richard Smith send you but don't tell anyone else that your my daughter.

I want you to go to that address if anything happens to me and your mother

I watch my parents hug me one last time before they let go and head through the door of the safe room. I couldn't stop the tears from streaming down my face as I cried out, " Mom, Dad, don't do this!" I knew deep down that I would never see them again. At this moment I knew this was goodbye.

Remember caroline, we love you always and forever, no matter what happens or where you go in this world be strong and brave my sweet my mother said wiping my tear while crying herself.

They stepped through the door and I watched in agony as the door closed behind them. I knew that I would never see them again, never in my life have I felt such sadness and loss.

No, no

I ran up to the door banging hoping they would open it and say it was all a prank.

Well Mr. and Mrs. Smith we meet again.

I heard the same husky voice from earlier speak behind the door.

Indeed Mr. Grey my father replied.

I peeked through the book-like shelf door to see what was going on

Let's get down to business the voice said

I found out that you have been stealing money and goods from me since we started doing business and I must tell you I don't like people who steal.

My heart was pounding in my chest as I listen to the conversation.

I could hear the rage in his voice as he spoke and I know he was not taking it lightly that my parents stole from him.

I want to do something to help my parents but I promise them that I would stay in this room and I left my phone in my bedroom and I don't think I would be much of a help anyway. I'm powerless to do anything but sit and listen. I just hope they find a way out of this situation.

I'm sorry Mr. Grey it won't happen again my father beg

Shut up I don't want your pathetic apology.

The next thing I heard is the sound of a gun being cocked. I could feel my heart beating fast

I don't have time for this, kill them

At that moment my heart drop.

Gunshots began to light up the room, I watched as my parents fell to the ground laying in their pool of blood. Silent tears began to run down my face.

The men in the room began to laugh.

You should have seen their face when they beg for forgiveness one of the men said the rest started laughing at the man's foolish joke.

I started to feel anger beginning to build up inside of me waiting to explode.

They think it's funny to murder people they will all pay for what they have done I whispered to myself. I looked around to see the faces of the men but to my disappointment, all of their faces are covered up with a mask.

Clean this up and don't leave any evidence for the cop to trace back to us the man who order for my parents to die, I'm assuming he's the leader.

Yes, sir, the group of men replied.

I watch as they took my parent's bodies away and clean up everything.

After I was sure they were gone I came out of the room.

I went over to the spot my parents were laying, I kneel and began to cry all over again at the thought of how they died and that I will never see them again.

At that moment I felt crushed but most of all angry and bitter.

I don't care how long it takes or what I have to do I will find out who those men were and destroy them one by one

Even if it's the last thing I do.

I will get revenge.
