Raymond and Jasmine quickly arrived at their new home.
After unlocking the door they made their way into the house, it was a very spacious house with a master bedroom, a kitchen and a hall. There was even a separate room for a servant to sleep in. Of course Jasmine wasn't going to use it, when she had her master to cuddle with while sleeping.
The house was located to the east side a little isolated, so during sunrise, warm sun rays would enter the house invigorating anyone who lived in it. This house was given to him by his father, in order to give him a quiet place to stay in and allow him to cultivate in peace.
"Let's unpack our things and sleep, it's already late." Raymond said, making his way into the bedroom.
Jasmine hurriedly followed after him.
"Ah, master, you shouldn't do this work, give me your bag I will unpack it" she snatched his bag and quickly started unpacking it.
Raymond shook his head at her dutiful behaviour. After unpacking everything and putting it in proper shelves, they quickly climbed onto the bed and Jasmine snuggled into his arms to sleep.
Raymond somehow managed to catch a sleep while having Jasmine pressed to his side.
The next morning Raymond woke up to find Jasmine sitting cross legged on the bed with her eyes closed seemingly deep in thought.
Feeling the bed shifting she opened her eyes and kissed Raymond.
"Good Morning, master"
"Good Morning, what were you doing there?" he asked.
"Ah, that, I was trying to find out my elemental affinity"
"Hmm" Raymond nodded and scratched his chin in thought.
He recalled that once someone becomes a Martial Master they can unlock their elemental affinity. There were all kinds of elements one could have an affinity with.
There were plenty of Masters with affinity to basic elements like earth, water, fire, wind, light, darkness. These elements were called basic not because they were weak, there was no such thing as a weak element, only weak users.
They were called Basic because they were abundant in nature.
There were also some people who were blessed with rarer elemental affinities such as lightning, ice, wood, metal, etc.
Even though some of these were abundant in nature they were called rare elements due being derivatives of the Basic elements.
There were also some people with unique elemental affinity such as space, blood, lava, sound, etc.
But those were one in a million people.
"What is your elemental affinity, Jasmine?" He asked curiously.
"I can't say it clearly master, take a look" she circulated her mana to produce a golden brown coloured energy on her hand.
She grabbed the nearby pillow and manipulated that energy to wrap around it and the pillow started to float up into the air.
Raymond had a vague idea what her elemental affinity was, but he wanted to be sure.
"Hmm, did you feel anything when you enveloped that pillow in your energy?"
"Yes, master. I felt some chains holding down that pillow, I used my energy to break those chains and the pillow started to float." she quickly answered.
"Is that so? Retract your energy and tell me what you feel"
She quickly retracted her energy and it fell back on the bed.
"As soon as I retracted my energy, I felt those chains appearing out of nowhere and dragged it down."
'It's definitely related to gravity alright.' He thought inwardly.
"Can you use your energy to strengthen those chains? " he asked, feeling hopeful.
If she can really manipulate gravity, that's freaking op.
"Ah, I haven't tried it yet, let me see" she wrapped her energy around the pillow and felt those chains, instead of breaking it, she manipulated her energy to wrap around those chains and her energy was quickly absorbed by the chains.
After that the portion of the mattress where the pillow was placed sank down a little.
Raymond was now 100 percent sure that it was gravity manipulation and those chains must be gravitational force.
Meanwhile Jasmine was really excited about her newfound powers; she never thought that she would be able to become a Master so quickly given her poor talent. But everything changed when she did it with her master.
'Looks like I need to do it with my master everyday to increase my cultivation, and doing it with him felt so good last time' she was lost in her own thoughts.
Raymond was a tiny bit jealous of Jasmine, only a tiny bit okay, not much, definitely not much.
As a fan of anime he really wanted to have the power to shoot fire out of his hands.
Even though he had world breaking strength he wanted to at least to be able to do some parlour tricks with mana.
'I must find a way to fix my stupid broken core as quickly as possible' Raymond vowed in his heart.
*knock**knock*
Both of them were interrupted from their thoughts by the sudden knocking sound from the door.
Jasmine stood up to open the door but Raymond held her back and told her to practise controlling her power.
He already knew who was at the door and quickly opened the door.
Sure enough it was the maid from yesterday.
"So you remembered to get my signature on the annulment notice?" Raymond chuckled.
"Yes, s-sir" she meekly said feeling embarrassed.
'Hmm, not bad, she is at least giving some respect' he mused.
"Alright, give me the notice."
The maid hurriedly took out the notice and gave it to him along with a quill.
Raymond took the notice and quickly signed it and handed it back to her.
"Here, you can leave now."
The maid didn't leave but started fidgeting on the spot.
"Uhm, that,uh-" she stuttered.
"What else do you want? I already signed it." He said, knowing clearly what she wanted.
"Please Sir, can you give me back that necklace, I will write an IOU for you if you could please give it back. It belongs to my family, I really can't lose it." The maid bowed her head and didn't look up.
Feeling that she had learned her lesson, he took out the necklace.
"Here, take it, no need to write an IOU,but next time you see someone, no matter their background, be polite and show some respect" Raymond reminded her.
The maid quickly nodded like chicken pecking at rice and took the necklace and left.
Raymond shook his head looking at her thinking if she really understood what he was saying.
He closed the door and came back.
"Master, who was that?" Jasmine asked, feeling curious.
"Oh, no one important, let's talk about your elemental affinity" he diverted the topic.
"Ok master, do you know what is my affinity?" She asked hopefully.
"Hmm, it seems to be gravity, can you control things like that pillow from a distance?"
"No master, Martial Masters cannot project energy out of their body for a long time, they can only apply it on something they touch." she informed him.
"By the way master, I haven't heard of anyone with an affinity towards gravity before, so you know what category it belongs to?" she asked, scratching her head.
"I don't know, if we go according to the definition of elements, gravity is everywhere in this world, as long as there is mass there is gravity, it wouldn't be a lie to call it a basic element." he quickly deduced.
"That makes sense, I will quickly master this power and then you don't have to worry about any dangers, I will protect you" she said, pumping her fist in the air.
"Hahaha, what are you talking about? You can't even use it on someone in the distance. What will you do if someone attacks us from the distance?" he asked, laughing.
"Eh? That's true. Master, I need to become a Grandmaster quickly"
"Oh, do you need any help with that?" he asked, rubbing his hands.
"Hehe, Master, I was just thinking about rewarding you for helping me identify my affinity."
