Chapter 35 - Gehenna Butterflies

"Azazel Dawnbringer ..."

A deep voice echoed over the sky of Blackrock City. A figure covered in a black robe and wearing a mask floated in the sky. Countless locust demons were like clouds in the background.

Hearing his name being called, the corner of Azell's lips twitched. He didn't expect that the person who controlled this plague actually knew him. Feeling famous, the young man was confused whether to cry or laugh.

I don't know you, Ok? Why did you appear out of nowhere and try to bury me with millions of insects?

Is it an insecticide problem? Why did you almost destroy the entire city because of insecticide?

"You must not know me. People who stand at the top like you... don't care about us who are below at all!"

Azel immediately stopped the 'Great Flame Wall' magic. The young man observed the enemy's figure while replenishing his mana. After using a powerful magic like 'Shadowflame Imoogi', he was completely exhausted.

After observing clearly, Azel looked shocked. The reason was... the figure flying in the sky was a level 4 (peak) demon. It wasn't that such a demon was weak. It was just that it was impossible to control tens of millions of locusts or even more just by relying on that person's strength and mana.

Azel immediately focused his magic into his golden eyes. The skill 'Eye of The Lord' immediately scanned the entire large cloud above Blackrock City. The young man immediately covered his eyes with his left hand and felt a headache. The amount of information entering his brain made his mind shake.

Tch! These cunning people! Pretending to be Gods when they are just idiots!

The young man cursed in his heart. After scanning the entire cloud, besides the cloaked figure, there were six figures hiding among the swarm of locusts. All six of them had the same innate talent, which was… Entomancer.

As the name suggests, Entomancer is an innate talent that allows its owner to become a Mage who controls insects. After examining it carefully, it turns out that the innate talent is not a real talent. It can be said that the seven people have another different innate talent.

Does that mean... the innate talent of 'Entomancer' is artificial?

Just thinking about it made Azel shiver. The young man cursed the insane person who did crazy experiments on the demon to get the innate talent. Another thing that made Azel sure that the innate talent was artificial was the word 'corrupt' behind the innate talent.

When Azel looked at the seven people, other than the person who was talking to Azel, the other six people had an innate talent that said... 'Entomancer' (broke). So the young man concluded, the person who acted like a leader was the only person who could pass the trial to the end and obtain the innate skill perfectly.

"I don't know you guys. Why did you interfere and create chaos in my territory?" Azel said with a cold expression.

"HAHAHA!"

Instead of answering immediately, the masked figure laughed maniacally. The person pointed at Azel and said, "When I saw you trying to save people, I really felt annoyed. A demon like you shouldn't have to act hypocritically! You're just a murderer! A MURDERER!"

Damn! Why does this crazy person seem to hate me so much?

Azel felt like he was being toyed with. The young man could only sigh as he looked at the attitude of the madman floating in the sky. He then began to speak in an indifferent tone.

"What's so hypocritical? I may be a murderer, but I'm not a hypocrite. Also, I'm not someone who kills without reason. I only kill people who are hostile to me. If I don't kill, can I live in peace? Can I breathe freely? Can I really be safe?

Stop spouting nonsense. Get down here and fight me... idiot."

Hearing Azel's sarcasm-filled words, the cloaked figure immediately fell silent. The figure then snapped his fingers. After that, from the swarm of Locust, six cloaked figures floated behind him.

The figure then immediately pointed at Azel while chanting magic.

"Insect magic ... Poisonous Insect Spear."

Tens of thousands of locusts suddenly bit each other. When they merged and melted, a seven-meter-long black spear was formed. The spear had a greenish sheen that looked extremely corrosive. Its power could probably instantly kill a level 3 peak or severely poison a level 4 demon.

Azel actually looked down on the magic a bit. If only there was only one magic. But not only the leader of the group, all six people used the same magic. That made the corner of the young man's lips twitch.

Aren't I being ganged up on? This isn't fair! Damn it! If you dare, let's go one by one!

As he cursed in his heart, seven spears filled with poison shot towards him. Azel, who was not satisfied, still immediately chanted a magic spell.

"Hellfire magic ... Shadowflame Spear."

Four spears made of black flames instantly appeared. With Azel's command, the four spears immediately shot out and collided with the poisoned spear.

A huge explosion was created in the air, a cloud of poisonous smoke immediately spread out because of it.

Before he could speak, the remaining three spears headed straight for him. Flapping his wings, Azel slid left and right to avoid the spears. The three spears that missed him immediately stabbed into the ground, turning the surrounding ground black from the poison effects.

Seeing that, Azel muttered, "Poison on the ground. Poison in the air. These guys are really trying to poison me to death. Damn, this is cheating."

When he saw the large number of insects (grasshoppers), Azel felt gloomy. One thing that makes 'Entomancer' magic somewhat complicated is the process of using the magic. Usually they are like tamers that use insects to attack. However, they can also create powerful magic by sacrificing the insects they control.

The problem is... there are too many insects!

As he stared at the countless insects that formed a huge and vast cloud, Azel became even more furious.

This is clearly cheating! This is cheating! Not only are they ganging up on me, they are also using infinity ammo!

When he saw the black cloud, Azel suddenly thought of one of the 5th-tier magic that was almost impossible to master. It was a very wide and powerful area magic. The problem was, it consumed too much mana. Normally it could only be used by several 5th-tier demons at the same time. However, since he was already 6th-tier and had the innate talent 'Arcana Lord', he had a lot of mana.

It wasn't just a matter of mana, but the worst was the mental exhaustion after casting the spell. Seeing seven other spears shooting towards him, Azel gritted his teeth. He released a black flame spear while dodging.

"Damn! You forced me!" Azel shouted.

The young man suddenly pulled out the sword he had been using as a display and slashed his own palm. Red liquid immediately flowed to the ground. The young man immediately struck the sword right into the pool of blood.

While enduring the pain, Azel took a deep breath. When his expression calmed down, he then muttered, "Burn everything in this world to ashes... Gehenna Butterflies."

After casting the spell, a giant magic circle that was almost as big as Blackrock City appeared. Azel felt that the mana in his body was decreasing rapidly. His head felt heavy as if it was about to explode. But once finished, an extraordinary sight revealed itself.

From the giant magic circle, countless blue colored butterflies emerged and began to fly into the sky. The butterflies were made of mysterious blue flames. The beautiful sight of the blue butterflies flying and dancing while lighting up the night sky appeared above Blackrock City.

Even though he looked pale and could barely stand, Azel still managed to smile.

"Now it's up to you guys."
