Chereads / Julie: THE BLACK PEARL / Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

"Hey son. Good evening. Been eargerly waiting for your call. " Stephanie greeted Sebastian cheerfully as she tried to tilt the laptop so that her husband Stephen could also get a clear view of him through the video call. Sebastian had woken up and decided to video call his parents after his mom had asked him to.

" Hello mom and dad. And by the way, it's already morning over here. You forgot when am in Africa I get to see a brand new day before you guys." Sebastian answered as he smiled warmly at his parents, letting the sun rays hit his face as he stood beside the swimming pool.

"Whatever. Am just glad you finally called. I was getting impatient and couldn't wait to hear the gist about your black pearl." Stephanie answered excitedly. Sebastian had texted her the day before and told her that he had met the black pearl again.

"Women and gists. I haven't even said hi to my son yet." Stephen chipped in while smirking.

"You would have called him if you wanted to say hi, but now this call was specifically meant for the gist." Stephanie answered rolling her eyes at him.

"As you say darling. Let's get to the point then." Stephen replied leaning forward so he could also get a clear view of Sebastian.

"Better. Now son, tell us. You said you met her yesterday again. How and what happened after you met? " Stephanie inquired eagerly.

" We had taken Audrey to get some dresses in  some clothing store which as I looked around waiting for Audrey and the rest to finish up, I kind of ran into her son, which led to me meeting my black pear again. " Sebastian explained to his parents with a happy smile on his face.

" Wow. You finally met the son too?" Stephen asked in a surprised tone but sounding as if he knew about the son who was being talked about.

" Tell me he is called Brandon just as we heard back then." Stephanie immediately replied anxiously, before Sebastian could answer his dad.

" Yes dad, I finally met the son, and yes mom, he's called Brandon just as we heard seven years ago. I was shocked when he told me his name and I had to try to act normal so he wouldn't notice the shock on my face. It almost felt unbelievable. " Sebastian answered while shaking his head still not imagining how true the situation was. He didn't think that, after seven years long, he'd still meet the black pearl and her son. It had been a long time that if he hadn't known otherwise, then he would have given up long time ago.

"My goodness! So it's actually true. If truly his name is Brandon, then I guess I finally believe this." Stephanie said also being awed at how events were finally going down, after seven year wait.

"What, you want to say all this while you've been doubting it? Come on honey, you were supposed to be the prayerful one here. How come you are now the one with little faith?" Stephen asked his wife, feigning dissapointment on his face.

"I know honey, but seriously, Seven years of wait? That was quite a long time for me not to have some doubts about it. Am sure Sebastian must have also given up. " Stephanie defended herself.

"No, mom. I never doubted it for once, neither did I give up at any point. I still knew that no matter how long it takes, I would meet her finally. Otherwise why would stay single or this while and not get married already?" Sebastian answered smirking but meaning his words. He truly never gave up the search and the wait. Ever since he, his parents and his grandma had seen her and her son years back, he hadn't for a second doubted that he'd meet her again. He knew she was meant for him and he'd wait until he met her again.

"See? You are the only one who was starting to have doubts. Am sure, even Mama never doubted it." Stephen said reffering to Sebastian grandmother, who has also seen the black pearl, then.

"Ha, we'll find out from her. Anyway, Son, I suppose you got her name this time round?" Stephanie asked, recalling that the last time they had met, Sebastian had said to have not gotten her name.

"No, mom. I didn't. Unfortunately, not even her contact." Sebastian smirked at how weird he was.

"Come on. Not even her name? If you weren't my son, I'd say you are weird. Now how are you supposed to meet her again when you didn't even take her contact? " Stephanie asked shaking her head wondering why her son couldn't even get a name.

"Don't worry mom. God is finally making it go down after seven years of wait. So I know the river will follow its course and I'll meet her again." Sebastian said with certainty. He didn't doubt for a second that he would still meet her again. He was sure about that fact.

" The depth of your faith amazes me son. I love that. So tell me about the son. Am kinda curious since he's gonna become Sir Parker IV. How old is he anyway? " Stephen inquired curiously.

"He's six years old and apparently he strikingly resembles me. One would think am his biological dad. Even Seth, Sammy Audrey said so." Sebastian answered as he chuckled but feeling good with that fact.

"Wow, God's plans really never misses the target. Make sure you get his pic the next time you meet that grandson of mine. " Stephanie said with excitement in her voice.

"I'm impressed and I guess I'd also love to get a pic of him. And honey slow down, he's not yet your grandson." Stephen said as he smirked at his wife.

"But he will be, very soon. Didn't you yourself refer him right now as Sir Parker the IV?" Stephanie answered as she rolled her eyes at him.

"Ha, fine then. Son, the next time you meet our grandson, please get a pic of him and send it to us." Stephen said while grinning happily looking at his wife who was had a grin on her face too.

"Sure dad. I will. And by the way I gave him the family watch and the Parker diary when I met him." Sebastian informed his parents.

"You did? And he accepted it?" Stephanie asked with surprise laced in her voice.

"Yes. I had to use some buddy theories to make him accept it. That's after I explained to him what the watch was meant for." Sebastian explained to them.

"Which means he now knows he's gonna be the IV. " Stephen stated as a matter of fact.

"Yes he does. But now, the problem is that, Seth and Sammy didn't really like the fact that I gave him the watch, which is understandable coz they have no clue of his and his mom's identity. So they are  saying  I carelessly gave it out yet its supposed to be a family treasured thing." Sebastian said while smirking at the thought.

"And they haven't killed you yet?" Stephen asked while laughing lightly knowing how they two boys must have been angry at Sebastian. Family treasures for them meant a lot of things.

"They haven't, because they have this idea that I kinda like the mom's boy and that's what keeping them excited. But am sure they'll come and report it to you. Which means, you both will have to come and play pretence of being angry at me since, we can't let anyone apart from the four of us know the truth about the black pearl and her son. " Sebastian requested his parents not wanting anyone else apart from him, his parents and grandma know about what had transpired seven years ago. It was better kept a secret until when everything had gone down as it is supposed to.

" Don't worry son. Am sure, my few acting skills won't betray me. Unless your mom here decides to sell us out." Stephen answered trying to  tease his wife.

"Ooh? And you are supposed to be the better actor? Such a pity. Everyone knows who's the better actor between you and I." Stephanie answered as he rolled her eyes while Sebastian just laughed at his parent's banter. He loved watching them do that everyday. It's been years of being married but they still were so inlove as of they just married the other day.

" Okay guys. I know you both won't let me down and I guess I gotta go." Sebastian said chuckling at them. His cousin was also coming towards him, so he didn't want him hearing any of their secrets hence the reason why he said he had to go.

"Alright sweerie. Thanks for calling us. And please say hi to your grandma and grandpa and the other relatives over there. Tell them we'll also find time and visit them soon." Stephanie answered happily. It had been long since they also visited their relatives in Kenya and they had to look for time so they could visit.

" You sure should visit soon. Been quite some time. " Sebastian's cousin chipped in  as he appeared from Sebastian's back while trying to get a view of Sebastian's parents. He had heard their voices so he knew who Sebastian was talking to. Good thing, he hadn't heard any of their conversation apart from that last statement.

"Oh, hey hi Keith. Is that you?" Stephanie greeted happily recognizing Sebastian's cousin from the Kenyan side.

"Hi aunty, uncle. Yeah it's me. I suppose I look more  handsome than you last saw me?" Keith asked jokingly as he laughed.

" Still cocky  as always I see." Stephen chuckled at Keith's statement.

"Why, thanks for the compliment, uncle Steve. But am sure I ain't as cocky as your son here. He's the king of the cocks." Keith answered chuckling too and when he heard Sebastian smirk deeply and Seb's parents having this horrified expression in their faces, he  laughed so seriously, realizing  how nasty his statement had been.

" Sorry about that guys. Bye. " Keith told them while still laughing then hastily took the phone from Sebastian's hands and hung up.

" King of the cocks. Really? Just when I thought I had a cool cousin brother." Sebastian chuckled at him, while shaking his head, as he tried not to laugh.

"Haha. Come on. That came out in a weird way but you know that's true. You are the King of cocks." Keith stated not helping the laughter that was still killing him.

"I'd choose to take that as a compliment." Sebastian smirked still shaking his head at how his cousin was being unbelievable.

"It's upto you. What were you doing beside the swimming pool, while fully clothed anyway? Grandpa wouldn't let us take our breakfast without you present on the table, so I've been looking for you." Keith told him as he sighed. Their grandpa Amos, who happened to be the elder brother to Sebastian's grandma (Christina), , never took any meal without any of his family members present in the house being on the table. Especially not his grandchildren from his sister's side. He and his wife always loved it when they visited because it made them know them feel the presence of their sister who had long been married by a white man, which had changed their lives since they now had relatives from the far end of the world. It was something worth to be proud of.

"I don't know. I just kinda found myself here. Anyway, sorry for the wait. Let's go." Sebastian answered as he patted Keith's shoulders lightly and they both left for their breakfast.
