Chereads / Julie: THE BLACK PEARL / Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"Where to, this time bruh?" Seth inquired knowing that his brother must probably be planning something.

"Kenya this time, I think." Seb answered him briefly.

" Awesome! Audrey and I were actually planning to take a holiday to Kenya this August too. Plus I was also thinking it's a high time I introduced her to our relatives in Kenya since I'm planning to get serious with her. So what do you think about using our company, since Sabrina won't be there to go with you? " Seth told him excitedly. He had told Audrey his girlfriend about him having some black blood running in him and Audrey had suggested that he should take her for a visit to Kenya and he had agreed. So when he Seb talked about wanting to visit Kenya this holiday, he thought it would be nice if they visited together.

"Looks like you are a genius. But you understand that you ain't like Sabrina right? What if you cause me trouble. We all know you are always a trouble maker. " Seb grunted not willing to visit with Seth and his girlfriend.

" Come on bruh. As much as you think so, you know you also need company badly. Besides it'll be awkward for us to visit the same place yet travel differently you know. " He tried to convince him.

" I think Seth is right Seb. You should visit together. It'll be nice. Besides Audrey will be there, that'll help him be less of a trouble maker. " His mother commented too.

" Fine. But to make sure you don't get on my nerves, I'll have to add Sam on this visit list. " Seb said giving in. Sam was a cousin brother who was pretty close to him apart from Sabrina. They were all agemates, Seb and Sabby at 30 and Sam 29. Sam was Samuel's ( Stephen Parker's twin) first son. The three of them were born almost the same time and they had grew up together hence making them close to each other. They were the first grand children of the Parker's family who were well known and always on the spotlight. Sam was Seb's assistant in charge of the family's business. However he was like a best friend to Sebastian even more than being a cousin brother. So, since Sabrina wasn't there, Seb had figured out it'd be wise to take him with him though that meant they had to look for someone who was going to take charge of the Parker's company while they were away since both of them never got away at the same time.

"You can't take Sam with you. He's supposed to watch over the company while you are away. " His dad looked up at him disapprovingly.

" I've thought about that dad. Since Sally has graduated and she was an intern at the company plus I have been training her for quite sometime, I've decided I'm leaving the company on her hands for this one month while I'm away.I trust she isn't going to disappoint me. " Sebastian said waiting to see their reaction. He had been working with Sally and training her since she graduated six months ago and he had seen a potential in her. She was a prowess who was capable of anything. Hardworking ambitious, aggressive, brilliant 24 year old girl who feared nothing and no one. Unlike her identical twin, Sella who studied a teaching course like their mother, Sally was into the business world like her brother and father. Their physical features were identical but personalities were way different. Sella was soft while Sally was tough like the Parkers who were into the business world should be.

" OMG! This is a dream come true. I am gonna be The CEO of the Parker's Inc for a whole month. Isn't that amazing. Thanks bruh. I promise I won't disappoint." Sally ran to his side embracing him felicitously. She couldn't believe her brother could actually trust in her that much.

"Sebastian are you sure about this?" His father questioned him again even though he always trusted his son's decisions.

" Yes I'm sure dad. Besides I'll be working from there also and if anything goes wrong we could come up here immediately." He assured his dad.

" Okay agreed. Sally good for you. You better not disappoint The Parker's." Stephen warned her.

" I promise I won't dad. " Sally assured them still holding on to Sebastian tightly.

"Sally you can now let go of your brother. I bet you are choking him. " Their mother said jokingly.

" Oh, sorry. I'm thankful of him you know. He just made me a CEO at the age of 24. That's an achievement even if it's for month." She said happily letting him go.

" I'm sure that will be on the papers the moment we're gone. It'll be like, 'One of the youngest daughters of Stephen Parker, Sally is made the acting CEO of the Parker's Inc while the two kingpins, Sebastian and Samson are out for a holiday to an unknown destination. " Seth said chuckling.

"Haha. You actually sound like them. If I didn't know you so well, I would say you've worked with them. " Sella commented laughing.

" And that's the main reason why I should be a journalist. I'm sure I'd be having some hot gossip about the Parker's." Seth joked.

" Goodness. Thank God you found yourself being a Lawyer." Sella commented pitifully.

" You might want to say the youngest lawyer who managed to be famous and the best in the US at the age of 26?" Sally said praising her brother. He was always proud of her brothers. They had made the Parker's proud always. Seth had surely managed to be ranked the best Lawyer a year ago.

"Mmh, say that again! Tell them sister. Tell them." Seth laughed happily hi-fiving her.

" You are making us feel like some of us haven't achieved anything in life." Sella said rolling her eyes.

" Sella, kindly remind them that you were the brightest kid in your class even brighter than Sally but you chose to be a teacher because you were called to like your mother." Stephen praised Sella. She always reminded her of his wife Stephanie since they shared almost the same personality. Soft, polite and kind natured women they were. They were his favourite women.

"You are right dad. Teaching is call and I and mom were called. And that's our greatest achievement. Infact us not being on the limelight all the time like you all in here, is the greatest achievement. We do our own things silently and it never gets to appear on papers. Isn't that a rare found peace among the Parker's?" Sella bragged too.

" See? That's how special we are. Add some volume my dear. The back bencher's haven't heard that well." Her mother supported her referring to the other family members as back bencher's.

"Looks like everyone got pride in this family." Sebastian smirked at them.

" I'm glad that doesn't count you out big brother." Sally answered him back.

" Infact he's the most proud than any one in the whole Parker's generation. His pride supersedes grandpa's pride." Seth teased Sebastian.

" I refuse that. Sabrina's pride can buy all the pride existing in Parker's generation. Even Sam's too. " Sella commented. Everyone knew nothing could bring Sabrina down. Her self esteem and pride was just on another level. Even though she was compassionate just like any other Parker, nothing could bring her down.

"What do you expect. The three of them Seb, Sabby and Sam were brought up by the Pride of the Parker himself. It's understandable. " Sally said referring to their grandfather.

"Haha. There is some sense in that, I think."Stephanie said laughing.

" So, Seb when are you leaving. You haven't told us." His father inquired about the trip.

" Tomorrow, since we have to be there by Wednesday." Sebastian answered.

" Okay that's sounds good." His father agreed.

" Yeah. Seth you better let Audrey know that. We don't want inconveniences." Seb warned him.

" It's okay bro. Be sure as hell there won't be no inconveniences. Unless on Sam's side since Aunty Rael is a nuisance." Seth disgustingly said. They all never liked Sam's mother since she seemed mean to everyone in the family especially to Stephen's family. Even Sam himself didn't like his mother that much compared to how fond he was of Stephanie, Sebastian's mother.

"She doesn't make decisions for him. He's a grown man for goodness sake." Sally ranted.

" We all know, she could be a bitch sometime." Seth said letting the word bitch slip out of his tongue unknowing.

"Seth, that's not how you talk about your Aunt. Watch your mouth." His mother strictly warned him.

" Sorry mom. But that's the truth anyway." He said not giving in.

" She is our Aunt at the end. So no need of ranting. We should learn to appreciate and love her the way she is. That's what God does with us after all." Sebastian added. Apart from being a heir of the Parker, you would also say after his grandfather, he was a strong believer and so firm in his faith. He was a devoted Christian and Adventist who never allowed nothing to compromise his faith. He was well known for speaking according to his biblical principles.

"For once I think someone just spoke sense in this house. You are right son. That's why you are the heir of the Parker's. We should all know that we are living by God's grace and Mercies. No one is perfect." His dad seconded him.

" Amen Amen dad." Sella chipped in too."

" You all never stop talking. I think I'm sleepy. Let's have a devotion so we could go to sleep. " Stephanie said yawning.

" Sure mom. I'm tired and sleepy too." Sebastian added.

They did their devotion and they all went to sleep as Sebastian called Sam to update him about their plans and he agreed. So the deal to Africa, Kenya was on. He just hoped he would get to enjoy himself and fulfill his plans. If only God would favour him to meet the girl he had been looking for, for a long time. Well, time would tell.
