An electronic notification sound resonated under the flickering lights as the metallic gate slowly opened. Emerging from it was the Federal 16th-generation Standard-type Mecha. It was obvious the mech had just been through a fierce battle, with numerous dents on it. Some parts were even breached.
Instead of heading straight to the mecha repair area, it stopped once it crossed through the metallic gate and into the interior hangar area. The mech couldn't go on anymore. The last of its energy was used to turn around.
In the sound of clicking, the armor on the back automatically separated, revealing the cockpit to the awaiting crowd.
"Grandpa."
Rong Xinyue sprinted towards Ji Xinghe, who hopped out of the cockpit, her arms wide open for an embrace. She believed her grandfather would lift her up into a hug. However, she noticed him crouching as she was approaching. No matter, it would still be a hug.
