The warm breeze swept through, filling the courtyard with white blossoms that diffused an enticing fragrance. The night before had brought a light rain, and now, as the dawn was just breaking, the brilliant sunlight was transformed into strands of silk that filtered through the gaps of the immense Emerald Tree overhead, scattering away the morning chill.
Under the tree in the courtyard, a petite girl with pale golden hair and fox ears, wearing a gorgeous dress with layers of white lace and pale green as the main color, was sobbing in the embrace of a beautiful woman.
The woman also had flowing pale golden hair and pointed ears that peeked through her exquisite locks, similar to that of ordinary humans but far more delicate, exuding grace. Both were blessed with the serene green eyes of an emerald.
The fox-eared girl whimpered, "Mom, can I not go?"
