Chapter 1 - THE MORNINGSTAR

In clashing thunder and heavy rain, sound of lone heavy footsteps scared the dead out of an man in his 40's. He knows what he has done and he knows there's no way of surviving this.

The footsteps echoed in his head as the person who holds his life on leash got closers. He sweated heavily and hid under his office desk. Suddenly the sound disappeared and he felt a little relief wash over him but that was the relief he was about to he feel when death will welcome him with open arms.

"You know, what's worse than seeing the Morningstar coming?" Cold silencer of gun made the man flinch.

He froze dead on his spot hearing the word, 'Morningstar'. The whole country knows who Morningstar is, but no one has seen Morningstar in person.

Italy branded 'Morningstar' as the 'DEVIL' because of the brutal, inhumane crimes that Morningstar has done. Banned from over 20 countries for killing over 200+ people in past 3 three years, the Sociopath is yet to be identified.

The riches sleep with the fear of not seeing the sunlight again because of 'Morningstar'.

"Not seeing the Morningstar coming." A satisfied smirk curved on her face upon hearing the fear in the man's voice.

A bullet went right through his skull at the moment he turned around. Last thing he saw was a beautiful woman. Her beauty could make one mistake her for an angel if they hadn't seen her grin like maniac covered in blood.

Morningstar took a photo of the corpse and left merrily with addition of 5 billion euros spread equally in her many anonymous accounts.

Hours past and here she laid relaxing on her bed and switched on the big led TV. There she saw the news reported going on and on about the death of a big money shark loner. Uninterested in hearing about the cunt she just killed 6 hours ago, she switched off the T.V.

Her eyes went to her regular smartphone and she 1 message from her brother.

Elijah:

They fought again, Athena. I wished they'd just stop atleast for my sake. I'm so darn tired. Nothing really makes me happy anymore. My life fall apart eversince mom and dad sent you away. I miss you, Athena. I really do. I'm so sick and tired of everyone and everything. I'm going end this all. I am sorry, Athena but for this once I'm going to be selfish. I am lucky to have a twin like you. I want to be your younger brother in every life if we may ever live again. I love you, my Morningstar.

All the colors from Athena's face paled after reading the message. She felt her heart drop of her stomach, she felt a foreign feeling. Fear. . .The fear of losing her identical other half. She saw that the message was sent 2 hours ago.

She rummaged through her room and grabbed nothing but her passport and her original credit card.

"Get the jet ready, Now!" She ordered to one of her workers and speed her car to the airport.

She broke multiple traffic signal but no police dared to stop her, not after seeing the number plate.

The high superior staff panicked after receiving a urgent call from one and only 'Athena Sin', ordering to get a jet ready.

They made sure everything was well prepared, from her private jet to the pilot assigned to fly it. They all knew better to not get on this Woman's bad side.

"What's going on? Why is everyone so stressed out?" One newly joined employee asked another experienced one.

"The atmosphere gonna stay like this until, Ms. Sin's jet doesn't take off." He replied keeping eyes on surveillance camera.

"Long live, Athena." He mutters as she stepped in the airport at the same time he mentioned her.

"Who's Sin Athena. . .?"

"You're worst nightmare."

"Why what'd she do?" The newbie asked with curiosity.

The beautiful woman looked pretty harmless to him. "You remember Anthony?"

"No. . ?" He frowns.

"Exactly." The older employee with experience dead panned.

All sighed from relief that Ms. Sin's flight took off and no one lost their jobs or fingers this time.

Athena might look deadly calm from outside but guilt, worry and regret of not checking on her brother was eating her alive during the whole flight.

She searched through her call list for a certain person whom she once used to be close with. She wanted to call him and ask about Elijah but she couldn't bring herself to talk to that man ever again.

Instead she called the shitty guardians of her who separated her from her own twin. "Pick up, you old fuck!" She groaned tapping her feet anxiously.

"Hello?" Answered her so called father from the other line.

"Don't hello me. Where's my brother? Where's he, You asshole?!" Athena snapped from anger. She was so fucking anger that tears blurred her vision.

"You bitch! I didn't raise you to talk to father like this."

"You didn't raise me at all. Now before I put you 6ft under the ground, Tell me; Where is Elijah?" Threat rolled off her tongue like vemon and her father knew those weren't just empty threats.

"He's in vegetative state. He made a cut on his own wrist. I swear me or your mom has nothing to do with it." The old man informed, trying to clear himself and his wife.

The tears that she held back, now rolled down her eyes as she closed her eyes, regretting every possible decision she made.

"If anything and I mean ANYTHING happens to my brother. I swear I will burn you and everyone you know alive." Athena warned and hang up.

She threw her phone on the empty seat and ran hands threw her long black hairs. She gripped them hard from frustration ang guilt and let out a yell of pure anger.

The air hostess on the back, shook violently in their boots and didn't dare to approach the ticking time bomb.

The hospital Elijah is admitted in is the first place she went after landing. Athena wondered why they kept her brother in such small local hospital. She send her parents monthly millions of euros just so they'd look after Elijah properly. Now that he's in coma those dumbwits couldn't possibly admit him in a hospital worse than this.

Watching her brother who looked just like her, lie down unconscious on the hospital bed like that, stabbed her heart.

"Athena." Called her mother surprised.

"Get out." She said through gritted teeths.

She'll be damned if she let this ungrateful, selfish people who doesn't deserve to be parents watch her cry.

"Get the fuck out unless you want a bed next to him!" She yelled from anger and pointed a gun on them.

They flinched scared and walked out of the room. Her hand felt limp, as she walked to his bed. All the fear, worry came swimming to the surface with just a look on his face.

Athena remember seeing a big goofy smile plaster on Elijah's face. It made her happy to see him smile because it showed her how she'd look if she ever smile. No one could tell them apart when they were kids. Elijah always said that she'd look like him if she was a boy.

"Elijah. . ." Her voice cracked, she caressed his bruised cheek and let her tears flow.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I wasn't there for you. I promise, I'll fix this. I'll make everyone pay who made you cry, brother. Just get better soon, Elie. You and I will watch the world burn and once we're done, I'll take you far away from this cruel place and people." Athena swore, caressing his head.

Planting a soft kiss on his forehead she made oath. A oath to never forgive or forget those who hurt her twin. "Anyone who made you cry will pay it's price. Anyone who hurt will pay with their life."

She turned around to leave and stopped by the door to give orders to her bodyguard. "Find out who my brother contacted in last 36 hours. I want to know what kind of life he lived in the campus. Every past, present lovers, friends, anyone he was close with. I want their all details."

"Yes, Ma'am!" The guard bowed and went to work.

Her parents alerted when she walked out of Elijah's room. "Who else knows about his condition?" She asks, tucking her gun on the back of her pants.

They hesitanted before answering. "No one, just us. His friends contacted us, we told them that he's sick."

As much as Athena appreciated that no one knew about Elijah's condition, she couldn't help but scoff. "That's some nice parenting you got going on there." She taunts before leaving.

Not every parents that has a kid deserves to be a parent and unfortunately Athena and Elijah are the treasure handed to the parents who do not deserve them.

Every second till she reached the hotel, Athena reminded herself that us 'Sin twins' only got ourselves.

It's us against the them, Elijah.
