Chapter 1 - System?

It was currently midnight. Usually at this time, people close their lights. However, a light is still open in an apartment.

My apartment.

*Sigh*

As for why my lights are still on, it's because I'm still contemplating whether I'm on a dream or not.

Because I doubt anyone will believe it if you suddenly became a host of a system.

l looked towards the screen in front of me and reread its contents.

"User Hunting System"

"Do you want to become my host?"

"Option 1: Yes"

"Option 2: Yes"

...

Do I even have a choice? It sounds troublesome and I don't want to do it so can I refuse? If I just ignore it, will it kill me or will it run away? I read some novels before and I have seen systems that force their hosts to work and threaten to kill them and I don't want to end up becoming a slave. Also tasks might overlap with my job and I don't want to work overtime either. No... in the first place, how can I beat a user?

As I tried to analyse my current situation and pondered about my next move, I heard a warning coming from... where is it coming from?

"If the host doesn't make decision in 30 seconds, the host will die as to silence him about the system's existence!"

"Oh you fuc-". I exclaimed before being cut off when I saw a timer.

*sigh*

"I accept." I said to the system. I looked at the screen in front of me to see and saw that the contents where changing and the timer has disappeared.

"Then starting from now, I, the User Hunting System and host, Zero, will merge with each other."

I heard the system's voice for once. It was a monotone voice, it sounded like a robot. Well, that's really within my expectations.

I feel like I just had a contract with the devil.
