Himura Watanabe is a 24-year-old man who has just graduated from college. He and his friends planned to celebrate their graduation by going on a trip by Ferry.

The night before their departure, they started packing the things they were going to take with them. Starting from clothes to toiletries, they put all of them in their suitcases.

Just before Himura put the toothbrush into his suitcase, the cell phone in his pocket rang. He put the toothbrush on his bed and picked up his cell phone.

'Tanaka? Has he finished packing his things?' Himura Watanabe thought as he received the call from Asahi Tanaka. 'I hope he won't ask something stupid.'

"Oi..., Watanabe..., have you packed your things for tomorrow?" Asahi Tanaka asked as he stuffed a pile of clothes into his suitcase. "I called just in case you already fall asleep."

"I already finished packing my things," Himura Watanabe said as he stuffed the toothbrush into his suitcase. "By the way, have you prepared your engagement ring yet?"

"Yes, I have prepared it," Asahi Tanaka said as he stuffed a small box into his suitcase. "On the third day when the fireworks are set off, I will propose to Ichika."

"I'm relieved to hear that," Himura Watanabe said as he smiled. "I wish she would accept a muscle-brain man like you for who you is."

"Well..., I do have some doubts about that," Asahi Tanaka said as he felt insecure. "But even though I was rejected by her, at least I've tried to confess my feelings."

"You got a good point there," Himura Watanabe said as he closed his suitcase. "If you ever cry, come to me so I can beat the shit out of you."

Asahi Tanaka laughed. "Alright, then see you tomorrow morning at the harbor," Asahi Tanaka said as he stuffed a gun into his suitcase. "Have a good sleep."

"Yeah, you too," Himura Watanabe said as he hung up the phone. 'It's rare for him to call me, so I thought he would do something stupid.'

The next day, Himura Watanabe arrived at the harbor. There he was greeted by friendly smiles from Asahi Tanaka and Ichika Yamamoto.

"I've guessed you guys have come first since both of you are the most diligent among us," Himura Watanabe said. "Sato and Suzuki should be here soon."

"Yeah, they've said that they have just arrived," Ichika Yamamoto said as she showed the message she received.

"Oi...!!!" Kazumi Sato shouted from afar, followed by Hayate Suzuki. They ran towards their friends who were waiting for their arrival. Short of breath after running, they drank a bottle of water given by Ichika Yamamoto.

"Are you two alright?" Ichika Yamamoto asked as she gave another bottle of water to Kazumi Sato. "Both of you better not be too tired so we can enjoy this trip together."

"Relax Yamamoto..., Kazumi and I have fit bodies," Hayate Suzuki said. "You already know that both of us often participate in running competitions."

"Yeah, we ran here from my house," Kazumi Sato said as she wiped her sweat and drank the bottle of water. "That was so much fun."

The three friends of the two of them who heard that were rendered speechless. They did not expect their two friends to do something beyond human reason.

"Well, now let's get on this Ferry," Himura Watanabe said as he pointed at a large Ferry behind him. "I want to quickly put my things and explore the Ferry."

Ichika Yamamoto chuckled. "You still like to explore things, huh?" Ichika Yamamoto said as she walked toward the Ferry, followed by Asahi Tanaka and the others. "Then let's hurry up."

Boarding the Ferry, they immediately went to find their rooms. They put their things down and gathered in the lobby.

"Alright..., let's explore this Ferry!" Himura Watanabe said excitedly followed by the others.

He and his friends walked around the Ferry. Try out the various facilities they find and sometimes take photos of themselves.

On that day, they were filled with joy and happiness. Without knowing what will happen to them in the night.

When night came, a storm hit the Ferry. The captain and other crew members warned the passengers not to come out onto the Ferry deck because there is a possibility that they would be swept away by the crashing waves.

Himura Watanabe and his friends gathered in Asahi Tanaka's room. The five of them played card games to spend their night. However, the shock of the waves that hit the Ferry made them unable to focus on playing the card game.

"I wonder how long this will continue," Hayate Suzuki said as he threw away his cards. "I've been waiting for the moment when I can look up at the stars in the sky while in the middle of the ocean."

"Cheers up, Hayate!" Kazumi Sato said as she patted Hayate Suzuki's back. "We can still do it the next night."

"Yes, that's true," Himura Watanabe said as he threw away his cards. "We just have to hope that tomorrow night the weather will be clear."

In the middle of the conversation, Asahi Tanaka started to feel nauseous from seasickness. He could not stand the shaking of the waves that were too strong.

"What's wrong with you, Asahi?" Ichika Yamamoto said as she looked at Asahi Tanaka's face. "Are you seasick?"

Asahi Tanaka nodded and fell to the floor. He tried to hold back from throwing up in front of his friends because that would be embarrassing.

"You guys go back to your rooms," Himura Watanabe said. "I will stay here and look after Tanaka."

Himura Watanabe's friends nodded and left Asahi Tanaka's room even though they were worried about him. As soon as they left, Asahi Tanaka went straight to the toilet and vomited.

Himura Watanabe stood up and looked for hangover medicine in Asahi Tanaka's suitcase which was already opened. However, he was shocked when he found a gun in Asahi Tanaka's suitcase.

'What exactly are you planning, Tanaka?' Himura Watanabe thought as he felt worried. 'I better keep my eyes on him just in case he does something stupid.'

Himura Watanabe took the hangover medicine he was looking for and a bottle of water. He led the two of them to the toilet door while waiting for Asahi Tanaka to come out.

On the other hand, there was panic in the Ferry wheelhouse. The captain and other crew members panicked because they saw something the size of Mount Fuji approaching them from under the ocean.

"Captain, what exactly is going on? There is a huge shadow under the ocean that is heading towards us," one of the crew members asked frantically. "Please tell me it's not a monster or something dangerous."

"I'm sorry, I didn't know," the captain answered as he was frightened. "This is the first time in my life witnessing something like that."

Suddenly the water around the Ferry receded and sucked down. The Ferry shook even harder and scared the crew and passengers.

A gigantic, wide-open snout with millions of sharp teeth emerged from under the water. It closed and devoured the Ferry along with its crew and passengers. All of them died instantly while accompanied by screams.

"The gate between the two different worlds that are separated by the star constellation has opened and this shouldn't have happened," a mysterious female voice said. "The Gods and Goddesses of both worlds don't want to meddle in this matter, should an outsider like me step in? Maybe yes and not at the same time."

Himura Watanabe and the other passengers of the Ferry woke up in a field full of flowers. They think that they were in the afterlife after they died.

"Is this afterlife?" Himura Watanabe asked himself as he looked around. He was able to find that around him were the same people as the people he and his friends had boarding on the Ferry with.

Himura Watanabe stood up and looked for the whereabouts of his friends. He shouted their names one by one. "Asahi Tanaka! Ichika Yamamoto! Kazumi Sato! Hayate Suzuki!"

Himura Watanabe's friends who heard his voice immediately stood up and headed towards him. The five of them regrouped as they held hands with each other. They didn't know what had happened to them, but knowing the fact that they were able to regroup made them feel relieved.

"What happened to us?" Ichika Yamamoto asked. "As I recall, I was squeezed between the walls of my room and died."

"Me too," Himura Watanabe said simultaneously with his friends. They looked at each other and tried to understand what was happening to them.

"Maybe..., it's like a cliché story in some light novels about reincarnation that I've read," Asahi Tanaka said. "We die and meet a God or Goddess, then we will be reincarnated into another world."

"Don't be ridiculous Tanaka, something like that can't happen," Hayate Suzuki said. "Most likely, we're stranded somewhere on a remote uninhabited island."

Suddenly the clouds above them opened and emitted a light that formed a stairway toward them. A woman dressed all in white came down the stairs and headed towards them. She stepped on the ground and looked around.

"It seems there are more of you than I expected," the woman said. "This sounds rude, but I have a request for all of you."

Hearing what the woman said, the people who were there immediately got up and surrounded her. They pushed Himura Watanabe's group away and attacked the woman with endless questions.

"Where are we? Why are we here?"

"Can you quickly return me to where I belong? I don't want to be in this weird place!"

"I'm currently pregnant, what if I have to give birth here?"

The woman sighed. "I don't have a lot of time for the explanation," the woman said as she raised her hand. "You can call me a Goddess, I am here to reincarnate all of you into another world."

Himura Watanabe and his friends who heard this were surprised that what Asahi Tanaka said was true.

"You guys hear that? It's really like those cliché light novels about reincarnation," Asahi Tanaka said. "I think we will be asked for help to save another world that the Goddess had just said."

"Then..., I guess we should help," Ichika Yamamoto said. "I want to help those who need help."

Himura Watanabe and his friends who already know Ichika Yamamoto for her righteous acts can only sigh. "Alright, let's give her a hand," Himura Watanabe said simultaneously with his friends.

"The Devouring Whale shouldn't have appeared in your world," the Goddess said. "You have to find a way to fix this in the world where it came from."

The Goddess snapped her fingers and the bodies of the people around her slowly turned into light particles. "You will be reincarnated according to your deeds while living in your previous world, so I'm sorry if you don't get what you want."

The bodies of those people including Himura Watanabe and his friends disappeared from that flowery field. The Goddess who was still there could only look up at the sky and hope that the people she reincarnated would be able to close the gate between the two worlds.

"I leave it to you..., the people of this world," the Goddess said. "This way..., I'm only indirectly involved with this matter."

The light particles from those people including Himura Watanabe and his friends went to another world. Those light particles are scattered all over the continents of another world.

Some of them turned into the human race, elf race, dwarf race, beastkin race, and other races. Meanwhile, some of them have turned into monsters in various forms. Whereas, Himura Watanabe turned into a half-demon and half-angel race in the middle of a forest.

Because he had the blood of two opposing races, there two contradictory turbulent forces surge continuously within his body and become a curse for him.
