I looked the large window in my office. Orange light shined through the window painting the beige walls a bright orange colour. I looked at the clock that was hung on the wall. It's currently 6:00 pm. The sun was setting and emitting its last rays of sunshine for the day which was an amazing scenery to see. Jessica has already left because her working hours are already over at 5 pm and she left around 5:30pm after making sure I had everything I needed because usually I work till late at night.
After taking a short break I got back to work again at 6:30pm. I worked while the sun went down slowly. I was so absorbed by my work I didn't notice the pitch black sky. It was currently 8:45pm. Uncle must be here because in the morning I told him to be here at 8:00 pm. I sighed loudly due to the frustration. I was scared because this is going to be my first show after taking over the company.
We are trying to present all our products in this fashion. From the jewellery, shoes, outfits and bags which are all inspired by the theme grapevine.
I got on the lift after walking through the lonely dark corridor. Everyone must have left. I called uncle to come out of the parking lot and pick me up at the usual spot which is in front of my building.
When I got into the car uncle gave me a boba drink he had bought me and I thanked him with a sweet smile. I heard my phone ringing so I took it out of my bag and saw that it was Jessica calling.
"Hi girl, what's up?", I asked her.
"You will not believe what just happened!", she screamed excitedly. "what?", I asked curiously.
"Someone's gonna be a maid of honour", she said excitedly.
"A maid of honour? what does that mean? Are you gonna be a maid of honour?", I questioned confused about what she is taking about.
"No silly, I am the bride"
"What do you mean the bride?"
Ahhhh then it hit me in my brain. "Ahhhhhhhhh!", I shouted at the top of my lungs. Which made uncle hit the breaks suddenly thinking something happened to me. I gave him an apologetic look and soon asked her, "Girl!!! did Ashton propose?".
"Yes he did! the love of my life just proposed me and I am on cloud 9 right now!".
"Congratulations babe, all the best on your new chapter and I am gonna be the best maid of honour, you just wait and watch".
"Babe I have something serious to talk with you" she said in a serious tone. I took a second and calmly answered with a sorrow filled heart.
"Let me guess, you wanna leave the company?".
"Yes" she squeaked.
I knew this was gonna come up one day. She always said since she was a teen, that when she gets married she wants to focus on her family and have children. She wants to give them their full attention and start a business of her own with her husband. I honestly do understand and want the best for her.
I replied in a soft voice, "Thank you for being with all through all these years specially when I took over the company and when my mother passed away, I know it's time for you to focus on your life and I know this is what you have always wanted and I am very happy for you. I wish you the best and nothing less. It's just that I want to see you everyday and I am sad because of that but you'll still be my best friend as you have been throughout my whole life". I sniffled quietly. Tears pooled my eyes slowly, half happy and half sad. I heard her slowly crying too.
"I am gonna be the cooled aunt that your kids will ever have Jessica. Be ready I am going to spoil and baby them so bad that they are going to love me more than you both".
"About that I have to tell you something. I am pregnant".
"What!" I yelled. "When did you find out?" "How did you find out". Before choke myself by not breathing by asking continuous questions she replied. "Calm down tiger. I found just yesterday. I just took a test because I felt more tired than before and felt a little nauseous with no appetite. So I just took a test without thinking much thinking that its going to be negative but to my suprise it turned positive. I just wanted to tell Ashton first. I was not able to tell him yesterday because I fell asleep before he came home and woke up after he left for work. So when I came home today Ashton had decorated the whole house romantically with red and purple flowers, balloons, cake and other amazing things and got down on one knee and proposed and I screamed yes", she said excitedly.
"Wow, now that news shocked me to the core girl. A lot has happened isn't it". I said happily. "Tomorrow you can come and start the process of hiring someone to fill your position when you leave. Tomorrow is ok with you right?".
"Yeah Adri, I am pregnant ma'am not gotten into an accident", she chuckled and I am smiled. I laughed at that.
I had reached home by time I had finished chatting with her. I got out of the car and said good night to uncle and when inside the house where I saw Hema cleaning up the kitchen so I greeted her and went up to my room to freshen up and sleep because I have no energy to eat dinner and at office I already ate some cinnamon buns so I am kind of full now. I closed my eyes and peacefully went to sleep not knowing what tomorrow holds for me.
