Chereads / If These Walls Could Talk 2: Brian / Chapter 152 - 152 Parking lot

Chapter 152 - 152 Parking lot

We're at the state medical board building, waiting around outside the room. Lirael, Tori and Dawn were asked to wait until they were called in, so we just sit and chit chat. I get the urge to pee so I let the girls know I'm heading to the bathroom.

I end up having to go downstairs to use the bathroom and sigh once my bladder is relieved. As I'm walking out, I get a phone call from the shop, so I step out of the building to talk to Art.

"Hey Art. Everything alright?" I ask as I answer.

"Hey Sarina. Yes, everything is fine here. I wanted to check how things are going at the medical board hearing?"

I shrug even though I know he can't see it, "It's going. As far as I know."

"Alright, well give us a call and let us know if anything does happen."

"I will Art. Bye." I hang up and turn to head back inside and run right into someone.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry..." My voice trails off when I realize who's standing in front of me. "Marcus." I grit out through my teeth who stands there and smirks at me. I step back with a sneer and I act like I'm taking things off my phone as I turn the recorder on and stick it into my front pocket.

"Sarina. You're looking more radiant than ever." He eyes me from my feet up and I'm suddenly glad I'm not wearing anything tight. I want to run home and shower with how disgusting his look alone feels.

I roll my eyes and move to go around him, but he grabs my arm. "Let go, Marcus." I say firmly.

"Now, now. I heard about your poor husbands bad luck lately. He finds out you've been cheating on him and now he's about to lose his medical license." He says quietly, "If you just wanted to fuck around with someone, I wouldn't have said no." He snickers as I rip my arm from his grasp.

"Go stick it in a fucking cactus you prick." I seethe at him before walking towards the building.

He catches back up to me and puts his hands out to stop me, "Hey now, no need to become aggressive. I just wanted to talk and make an offer that you may appreciate."

"Talk? Offer I would appreciate?" I cross my arms in front of me, "I highly doubt there is anything you could say or do that I could appreciate." I give him a bright false smile, "I mean you're acting like you still actually care about me, when we both know that's far from the truth." I go to walk around him again but he grabs my arm again.

"But that is the truth, Sarina." He confesses and if I didn't know him any better I would have thought he was being sincere.

"No. You don't. You wouldn't have done this to my husband, who's done nothing wrong to lose his fucking medical license because you're jealous. Because YOU were not man enough to treat me like a human being and I found someone who treats me better than you could ever fathom." I sneer at him, "If you touch me again, you will regret it." I go to yank my arm out of his hold again but he's gripped it fiercely.

"Listen here, you fucking little slut. Your pussy husband has had this coming the second he took what was mine. I heard about him finding a new apartment only to be denied because his job security is up in the air. I know he's been talking to a divorce lawyer too, so it's not like he's going to keep your whore ass." He spits out at me.

"Whatever Marcus! Let me go! You don't know anything!" I try to yank out of his hold again but he just grips my other arm and pulls me closer.

"Oh but I do you stupid fucking bitch! I know because I set up all your fucking problems! From your little extramarital indiscretions to this here medical board hearing. I've got Vanderburg and Mitchell in my pocket so I'll be making it to where he never works again! We already know he'll never trust you again either!" He growls.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" I cry out as his hold tightens and I look up for security cameras, "You know they have cameras here and you're being recorded right?"

"You really think I give a fuck? You can't prove anything with those. You'll regret ever leaving me bitch."

He slaps me and spits in my face so quickly I didn't see it coming and I fucking lose it.

My head connects with his nose as my right leg hooks behind his left ankle, making him topple to the ground, but pulling me with him. I hear a male shout from somewhere for a second before a fist connects with my jaw. The blow dazes me for a second before I wrap an arm around his other arm twisting my body into a ball around my stomach and his arm. My feet are against his shoulder and chest when I extend my body and can feel the resistance before I hear a pop and then a scream of agony.

Hands are on me, pulling me away. I go to flip them, but my name being shouted makes me look to see it's Lance.

"SARINA! Are you okay?" He's pulling me away from a screaming Marcus, shouting obscenities at me as he staggers to his feet.

"I'll fucking kill you, you stupid bitch!" He roars and barrels our way, but Lance stands in front of me and swings his fist straight into his chest, sending him back and gasping for air.

"You will not touch her, you fucking piece of shit!" Lance roars back, pacing in front of me like a beast protecting its young.

I've never seen Lance angry and I don't think I would ever want to piss him off. His veins pop out on his neck, his body is tense, ready to spring into action, and you can feel his aura is murderous.

"You'll regret this." Marcus coughs out, before taking off into the building.

Lance turns around and gingerly helps me up off the ground where I've been frozen to this entire time.

"Are you okay?" Lance is still tense, but is soft and tender checking me over, concern evident in his eyes.

I nod, tears starting to roll down my face from my jaw. "He slapped me and spit in my face before he got me in the jaw." I say with out moving my mouth too much. I reach in my pocket and pull out my phone that's still recording. "But I got this too." I stop the recording and hold it out to Lance.

"Good girl." Lance beams, "Come on, let's go fuck up that bastards day some more." He keeps an arm around me, making sure I'm ok as I tenderly move and test my jaw. When we arrive at the room there's security guards outside of the room and we can hear Marcus shouting.

"THIS MAN HAD ME ASSAULTED RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THIS BUILDING! ALL BECAUSE I MADE A COMPLAINT!" Marcus fumes, wiping the blood that still drips from his nose as he glares at Brian.

"I don't know what he's talking about. I didn't even know he was here!" Brian stands up, outraged at the accusations.

One of the board members asks, "Do you know the person who assaulted you?"

Before Marcus can say anything, I shout, "Yes, he does! I have proof of it too!" Fuck that hurt to do.

The board member looks over the rim of her glasses at me, "And you are?"

"Sarina McNeal, I'm Doctor Huller's wife." I try to speak clearly but my jaw is aching badly.

Marcus shouts, "THOSE TWO ARE THE ONES WHO ASSAULTED ME!" He points at us both as Security steps towards us.

Lance asks them to go see if they can go look at the footage for the front parking lot security cameras and the guard looks up to the medical board who nod as he leaves.

"Sarina?" Brian must notice the swelling around my jaw as I approach him. "Baby? What happened?"

He looks at my jaw as I say carefully and quietly to him, "Just wait. Don't do anything rash, okay?" I take his hand and hold it firmly in mine.

"Did he hit you?" His eyes widen and his nostrils flare as every muscle in his body goes tense with rage.

Lance steps in between Marcus and Brian, knowing his best friend better than anyone.  "Brian, brother, listen to your wife. Don't do anything you may regret."

"If he put his hands on my wife, I won't regret it." Brian hisses through his teeth.

"You will if it puts you in jail and you miss the birth of your children." Lance mutters under his breath only for us to hear.

"See them whispering to each other? They're making sure their lies all match!"  Marcus shouts and Lance has to put a hand up to stop Brian who's ready to kill him.

"SIR, SIT DOWN AND BE QUIET OR I WILL HAVE YOU REMOVED!" The female doctor in glasses states loud and firmly, as Marcus sneers at her.
