Chapter 7 - 7 Workout

"Thank you for breakfast, it was delicious." Sarina and I stood out in the parking lot, and I really didn't want to say our goodbyes yet.

"Thank you for joining me, I enjoyed our time together."

The blush that spread across her face had my heart beating faster again. My arms ached to pull her in close for a kiss.

"Well, I guess I should get going...." She trails off, motioning to her car and I reluctantly nod.

"I should too. May I call you sometime?" I ask her.

Her blush deepens, "Yeah, what is your number?" She pulls her phone out and I give her my number. I get a text from her and quickly save the contact.

"Thank you, Sarina."

"You're welcome. Well, bye." She get's in her car and leaves, leaving me smiling and waving bye to her before I take off to Lirael's and Lance's place.

I grab my workout bag from the trunk before I knock and Lance, already in his sweatpants and a tank, lets me inside.

"Sup, your...." Lance looks me up and down, his eyes like saucers as he looks me over, "happy today. Go change and you can tell me while we work out."

I go change and go to the workout shed in the back, my towel over my shoulder and a bottle of water from the fridge.

The sound of Rammstein playing from the shed has me grinning. He's stretching when I walk in and I'm quick to join him.

"So what has you smiling like a teen who just saw titties for the first time?" Lance asks as we continue stretching.

"I had a great night, what can I say?" I admit, recalling the sounds Sarina made all night.

"I'm guessing, Sarina?" Lance waggles his eyes at me, and I scoff.

"No, you know your mom's the only woman for me."

Lance scoffs this time, "HA! Now that's some funny shit."

I retort, "Yeah, it'll be real funny when you have to call me daddy one day." I can barely keep a straight face as he looks at me like I have lost my damn mind.

"She would slap you three ways from Sunday if she heard you say something like that." Lance hits my arm.

Laughing, I agree, "Yeah, she would."

"So, I'm right then. You two snuck out last night and ..." Lance gave me a devilish grin and flicked his eyebrows at me.

He looked like an excited teenager making me bust out laughing.

"Yes! I'm right! I knew it! Right on, man." He grins tapping my shoulder with a fist as we grab the jump ropes to start our cardio.

An hour later, we're lifting the weights, building the strength in cores and backs today. Lance finishes his reps so we move on to the crunches. We're both keeping up with each other, touching elbow to opposite knee, when on our third rep of ten, Lance sighs and sits up.

"Hey, Brian?" He turns to me, making me stop and catch my breath before sitting up myself.

"What's up, man?" I asks panting, reaching for my towel to wipe off my face.

"So, I'm going to need your help with something, if you don't mind. If you're up for it." He beats around the bush, not wanting to look me in the eye.

Cocking a brow at him, I scoff, "Sure man, what's up? You're acting like you are going to ask me out or something." I chuckle.

Lance scowls at me, "You fucking wish, asshole."

We share a chuckle as Lance becomes serious again. "Will you be my best man for the wedding?"

I pause, shaking my head, "Really? You want me to be your best man for the wedding?" I ask, keeping my face in a shocked expression. I watch and notice the look of confusion on Lance's face and spit out, "I'm hurt, I thought I was your best man, all the time."

"Shut up, ass." Lance shakes his head at me and stands up, offering his hand to me, "So that's a yes?"

I take his hand, "Yes, but I thought you were going to ask me if I'd give you away honestly." I chuckle.

Halfway up, Lance releases my hand and I fall back on my ass, while he snickers at me. Laughing myself, I hop up, "Dick." I mutter before adding, "Yes, I'll be your best man."

Lance gives me a shit eating grin, "Thanks man." He throws an arm around my shoulder and hugs me to him, patting my back before pushing each other away.

"Come on, lets go shower, you stink like a used jock strap." We walk laughing, into the house, taking our shirts off to wipe the sweat off our faces.

"I think you're smelling yourself there Lance. All I can smell is the sweet scent of ..."

Lirael's voice cuts in, "Damn, if I had known we would have been given a scrumptious treat, I would have had more water ready. You're making us thirsty over here." Lirael fans herself with a stack of papers on the couch, sitting right next to Sarina who's blushing herself, biting on her bottom lip.

Lance not missing a beat, winks in their direction, "I got something to quench your thirst, darling." Lirael blows him a kiss and flips him off at the same time, making him chuckle as he heads upstairs.

I merely nod and greet them with, "Ladies." I go to the downstairs bathroom to shower and am quickly done. I get dressed in my spare set of clothes from my gym bag, then clean up my mess in the bathroom. I go to exit the bathroom but hear Lirael's squeal of delight that's quickly muffled.

I crack open the door and try to hear anything, but they are talking to low for me to make out anything. Shaking my head, I ask myself what the hell am I doing?

I take the towels I used to the laundry room and stop in the kitchen to grab some more water. Lirael comes walking in with the tell tale smirk on her face that tells me she knows what happened last night.

"What has you grinning like the Cheshire Cat?" I ask innocently, playing dumb.

"Do you have any plans today, Brian?" She asks leaning forward on her island. Not even a week ago this site would have had me groaning, trying to reign in an erection. While still provocative, it wasn't hard for me to look away this time.

"I didn't have anything pressing to take care of today. Why? What diabolical plot have you come up with today?" I tease her, making her stick her tongue out at me.

"I was thinking dinner and a movie tonight here? " She quirks a brow and gestures with her head towards the living room and winks.

"Are you okay, Lirael? Did you get something in your eye?" I tease her some more, for her to purse her lips at me and flip me off.

"Yes, I did. Now, can you go grab Lance from upstairs and ask him if there's a movie he can think of to watch." She quietly stomps her foot and steps closer, quietly whispering, "Sarina and I, we need to go over all of her paperwork for her brother. Take Lance and go pick out stuff for dinner and pick out some movies to watch. I'll keep her here." She winks at me and practically drags me out to the stairs and goes to send me up.

I stop her, "Where's the super soaker?"

"Wait right here!" Her eyes go wide and she runs back to the kitchen and I hear her pushing ice into it and cold water from the fridge. She comes back out with giant super soaker, loaded with ice cold water.

Sarina is looking at us like were crazy, but amused none the less as Lirael holds a hand up, "I owe him for last week. He's mine for this one. Sit down. I'll be back." Lirael points for me to go sit and creeps up the stairs listening to the shower still running.

"Do you guys do this often?" Sarina asks, covering her mouth as she giggles.

"Every now and then, Lirael has become more fun loving since she doesn't have to worry about something anymore. She's been happier, which is all I care about. For the both of them."

At the next moment we hear a shrill cry coming upstairs from Lance, that's an octave or two higher than it should be. Lirael's cackling is followed by her sliding down the banister, and hiding to take position for another attack.

Lance comes running down the stairs, his shorts on and shoots a look at me, asking where did she go.

I hold my hands up, trying to keep the smile off my face, "I don't know, man. You're on your own for this one."

Lirael pops out from the kitchen getting Lance right in the face.

"HA!" She laughs, before she squeals, "AIEEEE!" As Lance charges after her.

I shake my head, laughing, and turn to Sarina, "You sure you want to be friends with those two crazies?"

Her eyes get a longing in them, "Yes." She states, but I don't think she's longing for their friendship. She snaps out of her trance and smiles at me, "I also want what they have. I thought I did have it, but when life got harder than he wanted.... " She trails off, shrugging, "Anyways, so I actually meant earlier when I asked, do you do this often, was do you work out with Lance regularly here?"

"Yes, I do actually. What are you and Lirael doing? Anything I could help with?" I offer to her, taking in her still glowing face that gazed upon me with a soft, knowing smile.

"We're going through my brothers medical papers, trying to find some of the bills that we could have covered by his crappy health insurance that was originally turned down for coverage for whatever reason. It makes it difficult because he was originally treated in Houston, where he crashed, and his insurance is from Louisiana. She believes that the hospital submitted them incorrectly numbered and that is why they were denied. So we're going through the bills, finding which ones were not paid and finding the submission numbers on this paperwork,"

She starts explaining what they are doing when Lirael's screech is heard coming back in the house from outside.

"Brian! HELP ME!" Lirael dives behind where I'm sitting, using me like a human shield. She's trembling and shaking, but laughing as Lance comes in with the super soaker.

Sarina quickly stands in the way, "Please do not get the paperwork wet, Lance."

Lance is crestfallen at the loss of his prey, with Lirael giggling behind me, sticking her tongue out at Lance like she's ten again.

"Hand her over, please." Lance playfully threatens with the super soaker.

"I need her to be helping me, Lance." Sarina crosses her arms, attempting to look like she's scolding him.

"Yeah, I know." Lance says before pulling the trigger and hitting Sarina, right in the chest, with ice cold water.

The sharp gasp of breath that escapes from Sarina has Lirael and I both drop our jaws in shock and look at each other.

"Did he just..?" We ask in unison, before Sarina growls.

"LANCE! I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!" She cries out through gritted teeth.

He immediately says, "Oh shit." and takes off running back out side as Sarina takes off after him.

Lirael and I exchange a worried look and take off out the back doors to watch Sarina chasing Lance like a cheetah chasing a gazelle. Lance hops over potted plants, whooping and Sarina is hot on his heels.

"Sarina! Can we talk about this?" Lance cries out over his shoulder, "I'm out of ammo!"

"Tough shit!" She growls, pouncing on him, tackling him like a football player, taking them both down to the grass with the super soaker flying from his grasp. Lirael and I, we are in stitches, laughing up on the porch at these two.

Now, they're wrestling each other and I have to admit, Sarina is pretty damn good. Even as he tries to get out of her grasp, she's able to slip back around him until he's caught in a hold.

It was kind of fucking sexy.

"Brian, calm down." Lirael whispered to me, "You're um..." She clears her throat as I cock my head at her in question, pointing down.

"Shit." I'm pitching a tent in my slacks.

"Thanks." I stroll back in side to the bathroom and try to calm it down. I hear them come back in, laughing, so I flush the toilet and turn the water on to wash my hands.

I step out to catch part of Lirael and Sarina's conversation, "I don't have anything to change into. I'll have to go home and change."

"Nonsense! Come on, I know I have something that will fit you."

I watch as Lirael pulls Sarina upstairs, and turn to find Lance looking frazzled.

"Never would have thought she could wrestle like that." Lance whistles, before calling up the stairs, "Honey! Can you throw me the rest of my clothes so we can go pick up those things from the store!"

Moments later, Lance and I both, are ducking and weaving as Lirael shouts, "Catch!"

Shoes, pants and shirt comes over the railing.

"Thanks honey!" Lance chuckles, picking his stuff up and going to the bathroom to change. He's out a few seconds later, grabbing the keys to his SUV.

"Let's go get some things from the store and go rent some movies." Lance motions for me to follow him to the garage. I maneuver my car out of the way so Lance can get his out of the garage.

Once in the car and on the road, Lance asks, "So.... are you going to tell me about last night or what?" Lance grins, face splitting ear to ear.
