Chereads / The Mid Laner Belongs To The Jungler / Chapter 55 - End of Season 10

Chapter 55 - End of Season 10

Both teams shook hands and Sun bowed to the crowd before exiting the stage. Even at this moment, there were still no up-and-down emotions on Shen's apathetic face.

In the meantime, SZ remained on the stage for an interview with a beautiful female host.

When asked which team they wanted to face in the final round, Zizi didn't hesitate to say AB.

The host expressed her interest, "Why?"

Zizi said without changing his expression, his voice was full of sarcasm, "I want to see how strong their ADC is."

Listening to Zizi's daring interview, Fu Yue couldn't help but praise him, "Zizi doesn't hold back his words huh?"

Wei Chen did not comment but there was a light smile in his eyes seeing Zizi's smug face.

Being marked by Zizi, Xyz is going to be miserable in the Final.

Unsurprisingly, AB won the following day. Zizi's wish was fulfilled and the Final would be held one week later.

A few days later, a teaser for the final was released. Two things were highlighted in the video.

Xyz will become a rookie monster to win the trophy upon his debut and win the title of the best ADC or Zizi, the uncrowned king finally get to sit on the throne after 5 years?

Raising everyone's expectations, the Final stage was grand and the livestream was viewed by millions of people all around the world.

In one of the biggest arenas, the place was crammed with audiences, and the scene looked amazing. Fu Yue once again marveled at how developed the esports industry in this world was.

IF spared no effort in preparing the opening ceremony for the World Final Stage. All lights were turned off and a few moments later, the light on the stage turned back on.

The initially empty stage was suddenly filled with a group of 5 people wearing black costumes as eerie white smoke slowly filled up the stage making the floor no longer visible.

The opening song was one of the anthems from the World Season 6 sung by a popular rock band. The song title was called 'A Monster.'

Just as the performers started to move, the giant screen behind them lit up and displayed the scene from the music video.

The story retold the tale of a young boy living in a slum. He lived next to the garbage dump and rummaged through trash every day to survive. His eyes were dull and lackluster looking as if he was a walking dead.

The first singer sang in a low almost whisper voice.

[Born abandoned, in this murky world,

Am I living or dying?

Should I continue or stop walking?]

One day as usual the boy was looking for sturdy materials to strengthen his 'home' when he stumbled upon a dying man buried among the garbage.

Yet, his gaze remained calm as if what he was seeing was mere rubbish. Just as he was about to search his body for any valuable items, his scrawny arm got grabbed by the said corpse.

The boy's dull eyes finally revealed a hint of life as he stared in horror at the man's creepy black eyes intently looking at him. No matter how much he tried to yank his hand he couldn't get out of his grasp.

He could only watch with a pale face as the man's body slowly melted into a pool of black liquid and madly rushed to surround his body as if wanting to swallow him as a whole.

The second singer sang in a higher-pitched voice full of sarcasm.

[People are like resentful ghosts,

They stare and hunt you as if you are a prey,

Won't let you go even if you were to struggle or obey.

As if talking to an object,

No one reacted nor heard your pleas,

When all you ask for is a mere mercy.]

The scene then changed into a bustling pub full of drunken adventurers laughing and talking loudly. One big man seemed to be knocked out and laid on the table face down. One of his companions accidentally touched him and he was knocked down to fall on the floor.

His face was devoid of blood with wide eyes open as if he had seen something terrible before his death.

The scene soon became chaotic and one after another hopelessly fell to the ground with no life vitality left.

The remaining people instantly became sobered and looked around vigilantly. Only then did they notice that in a corner where the light couldn't reach sat a young man with a black cloak fully covered up from head to toe.

He was sitting composedly as if unaware of what happening around him. His whole person seemed to release a gloomy air and the aura of death.

Due to his abnormality, the rest of the men secretly signaled each other and at the same time, they all launched their attacks on that young man.

The young man noticed this and nimbly dodged. He quickly retreated to another spot. Almost immediately, he bent his body at an unimaginable angle to dodge the big axe coming from behind. He then grabbed the hand that was holding the axe and threw a man who was several times bigger than him to the ground.

The fight prolonged for quite a while with neither side winning.

Anyone with keen eyes would notice that the young man only defended and not attacked so far.

However, no one was in the right mind to investigate whether he was indeed the culprit or not.

During this fighting scene on the screen, the light on the stage kept blinking as the music became faster and faster while the performers displayed powerful and intense dance moves as if depicting a conflict.

Then all of a sudden, on the screen only a pair of black obsidian eyes with black blood oozing down was seen.

In the next second, four performers suddenly fell to lay on the floor with only one standing in the middle as the entire stage dyed red due to the light.

The standing person covered his face with shaky hands singing in a somewhat hoarse voice as if a beast was crying.

[No one cares to find the truth,

I only did what I should,

I would live like a dead if I could,

It was all forced upon me... It was all forced!!!]

This person's pitch was raised higher and higher as he helplessly knelt on both knees. In the meantime, the other four sluggishly rose into a half-sitting position as if they were living corpses.

Four different voices sang in harmony.

[Born a monster, living in this beautiful world,

I am alive while dying inside,

Madness rushes to me like a tide.

I will keep moving even if I have to crawl,

And make all of them bawl.]

The performance ended with all four laying their hands all over the kneeling person's body before slowly dragging him down to entirely submerge in the smoke.

Everyone was still immersed in the performance but the second song started to play right away. There were three more performances with Season 10's anthem being the last.

Unlike the gloomy opening song, this year's anthem was a song full of encouragement and positivity which was called 'Grow Lights'.

Surprisingly, it fits with SZ's situation incredibly well proving that as long as you won't give up and continue to work hard things will look up for you.

Once the opening ceremony came to an end, a popular host walked to the middle of the stage. He enthusiastically introduced each player and invited both teams to the stage evoking a loud cheer from the audience.

The next exciting segment was the trash-talking corner.

The host first asked AB. Everyone said their piece until AB's Mid Laner confidently said, "I will show you what a World-class Mid Laner is."

Zizi merely smiled at this provocation.

Everyone knew that Zizi was called the Best Mid-Laner but ironically, he hasn't won the World Champion title yet. AB's words were basically mocking him.

When it was Zizi's turn to speak, he slightly leaned his upper body forward as if wanting to match their shorter height and friendly warned, "Later on, you better run once you see me."

AB internally scoffed and didn't take his words seriously. However, later on, they painfully realized how scary a sobered madman could be especially Xyz who didn't get to play the game at all!

Even Li Haoran who didn't like Xyz couldn't help but start to feel sympathy for him.

The feeling of dying the most and doing the least damage in the entire game as an AD carry was simply the worst!

In game one, Xyz didn't have a single kill! SZ won in 25 minutes!

In game two, SZ interfered with the Jungler and Mid Laner causing Xyz to face SZ's Bot Laners by himself. This time, the disparity between an experienced ADC and a rookie was displayed. Xyz was singled twice by Lune!

In game three, everyone hoped for AB to turn the tide since they didn't want the World Final Stage to end in this boring way. Nevertheless, they were doomed to be disappointed tonight.

With one game away from winning, SZ became even more shameless.

5 men invade stealing away the enemy blue buff and even killing AB's Jungle-Mid Duo during the process. As a result, AB lost the whole bot camps.

After stealing away everything, Ge made a trip to Bot Lane, getting a double kill at the cost of their Support.

In this game, Ge was so ahead of the enemy Jungler that he could go anywhere on the map freely.

YL lost because their other lanes especially mid were not strong but in SZ's case, don't even dream about roaming with Zizi guarding the mid lane.

In addition, SZ had better teamwork than AB.

They first blasted through the Bot Lane in game 1 purposely destroying Xyz's psychological with a miserable KDA.

In game 2, SZ guessed that AB would play around the Bot Lane which saved them a lot of time to make play elsewhere with a piece of mind.

AB managed to get a few kills to Xyz in the early game but he had no presence afterward. What's worse was that he surprisingly got suppressed by Lune in the lane after no longer receiving any support from his team.

After beating XiaoXi, Xyz's ego inflated so he didn't put Lune in his eyes at all. Due to this overconfidence, he engaged in a 1 Vs 1 fight with Lune wanting to get himself a highlight.

Little did he know Lune was brought up relying on himself to survive in Bot Lane since his Support frequently left to buy milk. Playing 1 Vs 2 was normal for him, therefore, there was no need to mention 1 Vs 1 this rookie.

Just like that Xyz threw the lead that his team gathered for him and lost game 2.

In game 3, SZ's strategy was obvious. They simply helped their Jungler get ahead to interfere with the enemy Jungler's development. With Ge shadowing their Jungler, any AB's plays were unsuccessful.

The gold disparity between the two teams seemed to have no hope of shrinking at all.

The atmosphere in the game arena gradually became awkward. Who would have thought that the most hyped Final match turned out to be this disappointing??

Not to mention, after seeing the fierce matches between Sun and SZ, they became even more disappointed in AB.

Game 3 ended in 24 minutes which was the shortest final match with the most embarrassing result of 3-0...

[Sun Vs SZ was the actual final, right?]

[AB'a fans came out! Xyz is a god? Pei! I play even better than him!]

[The gap between SZ and AB is too big! All three games are one-sided! How did AB qualify for the final??? How embarrassing lmao]

[I was prepared to stay up late welp I guess I can turn in early now, thanks AB lol]

"Congratulations! Sunzheng is our Season 10's World Champion! After 5 years, they have done it!!!!"

Confettis ran down and the big screen captured the excited expressions of SZ's players. Ge even jumped on Zizi's back hanging like a Koala while Lune was crying with his Top Laner and Support hugging him.

Coach Gu who rushed from the waiting room was also excited. His face was full of smiles and bright red as he hugged these brats.

Zizi was the calmest among all of them. He quickly ordered them to keep their excitement in check and went to shake hands with AB.

Once passing Xyz, Zizi spoke in a low voice, "Go back and practice more."

Xyz's face darkened, and his eyes glared at the man in front of him but in the end, he couldn't say anything at least not in front of the public just like this.

AB players didn't remain long. They deeply bowed toward the crowd and then marched off stage.

Watching SZ lifted the trophy, Fu Yue was genuinely happy for them. Who would have thought that the first defeated team that he witnessed in person after coming to this world turned out to be the World Champion?

The aftermath of the World Final was hot searches about AB's defeat and questioning ability trending in the top 10 on Weibo but it had nothing to do with Fu Yue.

A few days later, the transfer period was opened, and 404, a rookie Omega player from TM was registered throwing the entire esports industry into chaos.

#TM will be having an Omega player for their roster in Season 11!#

#The first Omega player to be debuted in TM!#

#404, a rookie Omega player was signed with 8 Million which is the highest in history!#

#Silence is playing alongside an Omega will spark flying in TM?!#
