Chapter 50 - The Newly Signed Mid-Laner Is An Omega

"My room is right next to yours so if there is anything just call me."

After a quick tour of the main building, Silence brought him to his bedroom on the second floor, and finally excused himself.

Fu Yue said his thanks and took his time to admire his room for a moment. He then made a call to his family informing them of his safe arrival. Afterward, he unpacked, took a shower, and got into casual clothes before going down to find the coach.

Fu Yue politely knocked on the door of the meeting room. He entered after receiving permission, he then greeted Coach He, "Sorry for the wait, Coach."

Coach He's eyes lit up in the excitement the moment he saw Fu Yue. He didn't show extreme reactions like others since he was after all someone who had been staring at Wei Chen's face every day at a close distance.

In addition, he was a Beta so his perception toward Alphas and Omegas was not greatly affected.

On the surface, Coach He put on a gentle smile as he gestured for the other party to sit down. In reality, he was internally shouting while running around in circles.

Haha, they've hit another jackpot lol!!!!

The situation of e-sports nowadays is not all about gaming. Pro players received a lot of exposure on social media and frequently appeared in entertainment programs collaborating with other celebrities.

Due to this reason, Silence and other Great Gods gained a huge fan base due to their gaming skills and handsome faces.

Attracting high traffic meant more sponsors, endorsements, and commercials beckoning to them.

Their club was one of the prime examples. Without even mentioning Silence, other players were all outstanding in terms of appearance and abilities.

Most people even speculated that TM recruited those who were not only good at playing games but also good-looking.

Coach He used to scoff at this remark. But at some point, when he looked at his players, he suddenly doubted whether the higher-ups had this thought ever since the beginning.

Even Xieyu was considered a flower boy in their industry and had a decent fan base. The only fly in the ointment was that he was too conscious of others and tended to overthink.

Despite playing together for several years, he couldn't get along with other teammates, especially Silence.

During Xieyu's first two years with TM, things were fine. Since at that time he got along rather well with their previous Bot Lane.

However, things started to go wayward with the addition of Alphabet and BlackLotus. At that time, these two rookies were the talk of the town, TM expended a lot of resources to grab them after they graduated from the youth training camp.

Subsequently, they parted ways with their previous Bot Laners. Perhaps due to this incident, Xieyu didn't have a favorable impression of their new Bot Laners, and possibly, he believed that the club also had thought of replacing him.

Coach He indeed had mentioned the matter of replacing Xieyu earlier this year to Wei Chen but the latter refused.

Xieyu debuted in the same year as Silence but he hasn't achieved any success in his career yet. If he were to leave TM at this time, his value as a player would only continue to drop.

There were no doubts about Xieyu's abilities. He may not stand out but his performance was consistent throughout the year with occasional mistakes. But who wouldn't make mistakes throughout their career? He just needed time to get used to their Bot Lane's rhythm and things would look up for TM.

Silence didn't elaborate but he asked for the coach to let Xieyu play for one more season. As a Captain, he promised to bring a better result and fix their problems.

Accordingly, the talk about replacing Xieyu was dropped and no one mentioned this topic anymore. Yet, around the Fall tournament, they got a leak from someone that Xieyu was contacting another team.

Confirming that the news was not false, Wei Chen said nothing to Xieyu and simply focused on their upcoming matches.

Coach He temporarily pushed these thoughts aside and focused on the present, "No. I woke up not long ago. It must have been taxing for you to be dragged around by Silence all over the place after you've just landed."

Fu Yue hurriedly defended Silence with a smile, "No. I am used to waking up early and I don't like procrastinating so Captain's arrangement is to my liking"

Knowing that he could go along with Wei Chen's whims without being uncomfortable, Coach He's eyes were full of appreciation.

Even though Wei Chen had friends like Zizi, XiaoXi, Empty, and Shen, they were all from other teams. It was not like they were free to hang out with him every time.

Therefore, Coach He was grateful to see a teammate the same age as him treated him casually without being too distant or respectful.

"Here is the application form. Fill in your personal information and sign it after you've done going through them."

Not knowing Coach He's high evaluation of him, Fu Yue quickly went through the contract once more time. Seeing no traps, he began to fill in his personal information and signed his name on the paper before giving it to the coach.

Coach He happily skimmed through the form. Later, seeing his official ID name, he gave a small chuckle "404? You are quite confident in yourself."

Coach He was about to take his eyes away when he suddenly spotted a mistake.

"Why do you write 'M' as your gender?"

Fu Yue was a bit confused when he first heard this question.

What else? Because he is a ma-

"Ah, I made a mistake." Fu Yue speechlessly smacked his forehead as he just recalled something. He quickly corrected his mistake and turned in the paper.

Coach He was not curious about his gender. Judging by his demeanor and appearance, he was more or less an Alpha, he simply wanted to point out his mistake that's it.

"Okay, I will make a quick copy-"

Subconsciously, his gaze darted to view the corrected information. However, the moment his eyes landed on the Omega symbol, his brain abruptly crashed, and the rest of the sentence was firmly stuck in his throat.

Coach He snapped his head in shock to look at the young man in front of him. Instinctively, he wanted to ask whether he had made a mistake but after giving another look at his overly beautiful face, it felt like he was immediately doused by a bucket of cold water.

Realizing that it might have not been a mistake after all, he stammered, "... Y-You are an Omega?!"

Fu Yue responded with another question, "You are not discriminate against an Omega, are you?"

Coach He hurriedly denied, "No, no! I am not!"

"What's the problem then?"

There are too many to count! But of course, Coach He didn't dare to say this out loud.

Who would believe that the one who was dominating the entire map was actually an Omega?!

Not to mention, they had three Alphas, one of them even being a Dominant Alpha, how could he dare let them live together?!

Simply imagining Silence's lovelorn fans getting wind of the news that an Omega was living under the same roof right next to his bedroom caused Coach He to feel a headache.

Just as Coach He's imagination was running wild, several knocks on the door immediately snapped him back to reality.

Both Coach He and Fu Yue looked over in the direction of the door in unison. Almost immediately, Wei Chen's deep voice was heard from outside.

"May I come in?"

Hearing a savior's voice, Coach He's eyes instantly lit up, and he hurriedly said, "Good timing. Wei Chen, come in!"

Wei Chen unhurriedly walked into the room and discovered that the atmosphere didn't seem to be right.

His blue eyes unknowingly settled on the young man whose expression appeared to be a bit disappointed.

Wei Chen unconsciously softened his voice as he questioned, "What's wrong?"

To his response, Fu Yue suddenly left his seat and walked toward him. Stopping in front of him, he seriously asked, "Captain Wei, what do you think of me as a player?"

Being asked this question out of nowhere, Wei Chen was momentarily stunned. Regardless, he honestly gave his opinion, "A versatile Mid-Laner."

Nodding his head in satisfaction, Fu Yue continued, "Do you think we will do well together?"

This time, Wei Chen didn't hesitate to give his answer, "I am sure you are going to be my best partner."

Hearing Wei Chen's answer, Fu Yue's mood miraculously improved, he proceeded to ask one more question, "Will these change once you know my gender?"

Wei Chen deeply frowned as he decisively shook his head. He further added in an earnest voice, "Your gender won't change anything."

"So Coach... What is your decision?" This time, Fu Yue turned to question the coach who was quietly listening from the sideline.

Coach He was no fool and realized his intention in asking Wei Chen those questions. To be honest, ever since his first question came out, he regretted having doubts about recruiting an Omega player. Wei Chen's answers further made him ashamed of himself.

Willing to admit his mistake, Coach He sincerely apologized, "I am sorry for my rude behavior. Hope you do not resent TM because of me."

To be fair, Fu Yue was not offended by his reactions. He reassured with a light smile, "There is no need to apologize. I understand where you are coming from but don't worry, there is no one here who is close to my ideal."

The first thing that Coach He did after hearing this was to look at Wei Chen with a dumbstruck expression.

Wei Chen who suddenly got a weird look from the coach, "...?"

Wanting to justify his claim, Fu Yue resumed, "I prefer women."

At this point, Coach He didn't even care about the possibility of dating among his players or fans' backlash. The fact that there was an Omega who was openly saying that he was not attracted to Wei Chen in front of the man himself hit him harder.

He incredulously pointed toward Wei Chen, "You are saying that this does not appeal to you?"

Wei Chen who looked at them back and forth as he got lost in their conversation, "...??"

On the other hand, to prove his credulity, Fu Yue stared at Silence with an apologetic look, "Captain, I am sorry but you are not my style."

Wei Chen who suddenly got rejected for no odd reasons, "...???"

Ignoring Wei Chen's increasingly confused eyes, Fu Yue gave a light sigh, "I like someone cute and warm. As for Captain..."

Fu Yue dragged his voice and once again looked at Wei Chen regretfully, he then gave another sigh with a light shake of his head.

He said nothing but the other two got his message loud and clear.

Coach He was finally convinced that Fu Yue indeed felt nothing about Wei Chen. In the end, he couldn't help but give Wei Chen an encouraging pat on his shoulder before stepping out of the room to make a copy.

Wei Chen, "..." Why do I feel like I am supposed to be heartbroken in this situation?

With a little bit of thinking, Wei Chen could deduce that the tension was created due to Coach He's worried about having Fu Yue interested in him romantically.

However, due to his understanding of the coach, he firmly believed that it was not as simple as that.

Having an answer in his mind, Wei Chen posed a question that sounded more like a statement in a low voice, "...You are an Omega?"

Fu Yue replied with a nod. He lightly asked, "Are you disappointed?"

Wei Chen shook his head in return, "... Just a bit unexpected."

Fu Yue blinked his eyes a few times before directly popping his bubble, "But your expression looks a bit troubled?"

After observing Silence's face for quite some time, Fu Yue keenly noticed a slight change in his expression after knowing that he was an Omega.

His eyes unintentionally strayed to the right and his thin lips were slightly pressed together. Obviously, he was not as calm as he made himself to be.

Fu Yue was indeed correct. At the moment, Wei Chen was experiencing a flashback of his 'frivolous' behavior toward an Omega.

Captain Wei is afraid that he has already branded himself as a rogue in his Mid-Laner's mind...
