After a couple of minutes, the silence was ended by Kevin. "I think we should probably prepare more before going back out. Like maybe seeing what affinities can do." Finn and Rowan nod their heads. Finn then searches his menu for anything useful and finds the affinities tab.

[Affinity control ]
Finn clicks on affinity control.
"Hello player. I see you're having trouble controlling your affinity? Well, there's several ways to use your affinity. The first way, and the easiest way, is to imagine what you want to do with your affinity. Imagine your affinity gathering in the palm of your hand. The second way is to feel it like a muscle. This will be impossible for new players. As you train on using your affinity, you'll learn to feel it, and you'll be able to control it much easier that way."
Finn reads the lengthy paragraph and believes he mostly understands it. He extends his arm, palm up. He imagines a cluster of electricity surging in his hand. In just a moment, he can feel his palm beginning to tingle. He can feel his very energy being gathered in his palm. He opens his eyes, excited to see the surge of electricity in his hand. he feels very powerful.
However, when he sees his palm, the electricity is very weak, much more like a weak taser than a surge. Finn's smile quickly melts into a frown. "How am i supposed to kill anything with this?" Finn looks at Rowan, Rowan shrugs.
Finn can feel his energy slowly being sapped away, so he deactivated his affinity. Curious of the others' affinities, he peeks over at them.
Kevin has purple liquid dripping from his hand. It underwhelmingly dribbles onto the floor. Kevin wipes his hand off on a tablecloth that was close by, then, a small breeze comes from his hand, and the tablecloth moves, though just barely.
Finn looks towards Rowan, who also has a liquid dripping out of his hand, though this one appears to just be water. Then, a small weed grows from the ground below him.
Finn felt better about his small zap when he compared it to what they were doing.
'It's clear it won't be easy once we leave the room'
"Well, how about i dont go first this time…" Finn says. Kevin and Rowan hesitantly nod. Before they leave the room, Finn remembers he has a katana. He scans his menu and equips it from his inventory. Now fully ready for the dangers ahead, Rowan, Kevin, and Finn cautiously leave the room.
As they enter the hallway, the slime from earlier lunges towards Rowan this time. They were prepared this time, however, and Rowan quickly raised his guard. Finn takes a heavy step forward and slices the slime diagonally. It cut cleanly like a clump of jello. The two halves slap against the floor. After a moment, they begin to melt.
Kevin and Rowan gaze at Finn in all his glory. "Maybe you should go first" blurts out Rowan. Now that they have the chance to take a good look at the hallway, It appears to be made from cobblestone. There are wood supports along the walls.
They proceeded down the hallway. It takes about 30 seconds to reach the next room. The three of them cautiously gaze into the next room. They see a goblin looking creature with light green skin and a tattered garb. It suspiciously stands in the middle of the large open room with a rusted dagger, which is seemingly barely staying together.
The goblin quickly noticed them and dashed forward. The three get ready for combat. They all run towards the goblin. However, Rowen reaches it first. The goblin swings its heavily rusted dagger at Rowan. He takes a hasty step back and just barely dodges it, but it swings again and hits Rowan's leg. The dagger slides off but leaves a small mark. Rowen quickly retaliates with a heavy right hook. The goblin gets pushed to the floor. As the goblin hurriedly tries to stand up, Kevin catches up and performs a running kick into the goblins skull. It shoots backward and slides across the floor.
Finn hears a familiar squelching and looks up. Two slimes are hanging directly above them. As the globs slide off the ceiling and plummet towards Rowan and Kevin, he yells to them as he tries to slice one.
His slice was frantic, and as such, sloppy.
The slice went about halfway through the slime, the momentum of the slice hit them into each other and pushed them both away. Finn looks to where the slimes went and watches as the slime he partially sliced closes its wound.
"We'll hit them away if they get close, so try to find an opening to slice these slimy bastards" Finn quickly nods. The slime on the left lunges towards Finn. Kevin runs forward and slams it to the ground. Finn quickly slices down after Kevin backs away. The slime melts.
Kevin and Finn look towards the other slime, which is currently charging at Rowan
Rowan accidently deflects it towards kevin, Kevin blocks the slime with his arms, and it falls to the ground.
Finn finishes it off. "Is that all of them?" Rowan says after a couple seconds of everyone catching their breath. "Is the goblin dead?" Finn asks while pointing to it.
The goblin lays still on the floor. They fully prepared for it to jump back up and begin its onslaught once again. However, after a short examination, they determined it was not breathing.
