Chapter 15 - 14: trouble!

I just came out from school and I’m walking right now to go home. When suddenly, a car honked and stopped by my side. And I was surprised to see who drives it.

“Chester?”

“Let’s grab some lunch?” he offered.

“Oh. Okay.”

My school was over and I’m feeling hungry now so I just agreed to his offer and tag along with him. He brought me at the nearest fast-food restaurant.

“I’ll go back to school after this. I still have a lot of things to do. I just want to drop you off at our house,” Chester stated after wiping his lips with a table napkin.

I just nodded as a response.

Chester is a third-year college student at a university somewhere in Calamba, under a business-related course. I wonder why he was here? He’s vacant?

After that, we went out from the fast-food restaurant and get into his car.

“Thanks for the free lunch,” I said.

“My pleasure,” he chuckled.

After we entered the UP Gate, I saw some familiar people at the waiting shed near it.

“Chester.”

“Hmm?”

“Isn’t that Caden and Kiara?” I asked.

“Where?”

“There. At the waiting shed.”

Chester took a glimpse to where I am looking at.

“It’s them.”

“What are they doing there?” I queried.

“It seems like they have a problem.”

I shifted my gaze at Chester after he said that.

Chester drove his car in reverse and parked in front of the waiting shed, then we quickly went out from his car and approached Caden and Kiara.

“Chester,” Caden uttered after seeing his brother.

“Roma?” he wondered after seeing me.

“What happened?” Chester asked.

Kiara was sobbing while her hands were covering her face. While Caden was just sitting beside her and rubbing her back gently to comfort her.

“Kiara isn’t saying anything yet. But I already know who did this,” Caden grunted.

Too much worry was painted all over Caden’s face then he hugged her while still gently rubbing her back.

“Does that Marco did anything to you?” he queried.

“Nothing much. He’s just forcing me to go with him. Good thing that I’m with my friends and he’s alone so they defended me against him,” Kiara answered with her voice shaking.

“That asshole,” Caden grunted.

“Where is he right now?” he asked.

“He’s still inside the campus.”

After Kiara answered, Caden immediately stood up and quickly ran to go inside the campus.

“Wait, Rendel!” Kiara tried to stop him but it’s too late.

“Caden!” Chester and I yelled.

“I need to stop Rendel,” Kiara mumbled.

“Caden is being reckless,” Chester uttered.

“I’m sure they’ll end up in violence,” Kiara stated then she noticed me.

“By the way, who are you?”

“I’m Roma.”

“Hello, Roma. I’m Kiara. Nice to meet you,” she replied with a smile and grabbed my hands to shake hands with me. She’s still pretty even after crying.

“I must stop Rendel,” she said.

“Let’s go,” I agreed.

We all rushed inside the campus to find Caden. And after a few moments of strolling and looking around, we finally found him at the Carabao Park.

“Over there!”

I looked at where Kiara was pointing at. I was startled to see that Caden was being surrounded by four men! I quickly ran towards them and gave a flying kick to one of them that caused him to fall on the ground.

“Roma?”

“So, you have a back-up, huh? And it’s a girl!” one guy mocked then they all laughed out loud.

I scoffed, “Oh. Okay?” then I kicked one of them at the stomach that flew him out.

One hugged me from behind then Caden punched him on his jaw so he let me go while groaning in pain.

“I can do this alone. Why did you follow me?” he heaved.

“Kiara was worried about you so we decided to follow you. Besides, I can’t bear to see you fighting only by yourself and getting all the action,” I replied.

Caden pulled me towards him all of a sudden and punched that guy who’s going to attack me from behind. Then we both kicked those guys going to get us and they ended up curling themselves on the ground.

And there’s another guy who’s going to get me but he suddenly fell on the ground.

“Chester.”

He’s the one who attacked the guy.

“Roma, you okay?” Chester held me both on my shoulders and looked concerned.

“Ah, yes. I’m fine.”

--

We all went to the university hospital to bring Caden and get his wounds treated then we left him there with Kiara.

“I was surprised how amazing you did earlier,” Chester blurted.

I just laughed nervously and I felt awkward.

“But you shouldn’t have done that. You made me feel worried.”

After we arrived at the mansion, I was about to get off his car when he held my hand.

“You have a wound. Why you didn’t mention about this earlier? You should have been treated there at the clinic,” Chester worried.

“That’s fine. It’s not that severe. Besides, I would like to treat it by myself.”

Chester quickly went off his car and he opened the door for me. He pulled me inside the mansion and we sat on the sofa as we arrived at the living room.

“Excuse me,” Chester called for their maid.

“Yes, Master?”

“Please get the first aid kit for me. Thank you.”

Their maid quickly obeyed what he said.

“Does it hurt?” he asked.

“A bit but I’m also fine with it.”

Their maid left after she gave the first aid kit to Chester. Then he grabbed a cotton ball and put some povidone iodine on it and gently cleaned my wound with it. After that, he put a band-aid on it.

“Why you didn’t want your wound to get treated by the nurse at the clinic?” Chester queried.

“I hate being seen hurting or being hurt.”

Chester looked startled from my answer, then he checked my hand and caressed it.

“Your hands are small, soft, and smooth and yet so strong to throw a punch,” Chester commented and laughed a bit.

I was startled from it and I felt embarrassed.

--

I am doing some drawing here at my room right now. Then I noticed Caden entered my room but I just ignored his existence because obviously, he’s just going to stay at my room and annoy me like the usual.

But I was surprised when he came up to me so I stopped what I’m doing and looked up at him.

“What?” I asked.

“How are you? Are you okay?”

I wrinkled my forehead.

“I mean, from what happened lately.”

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

I was startled when he suddenly grabbed my hand.

“You have a wound,” Caden said.

“Ah, it’s nothing.”

I noticed a hint of concern on Caden’s face.

“Why did you attack unannounced like that? You’re really craving for violence, huh?” he grunted.

“Hey, it’s not like that.”

“I heard that Chester was the one who treated your wound.”

“Ah, yeah. He saw my wound right before I went out from his car.”

Caden just pursed his lips and slowly nodded then avoided my gaze.
