I’m just peacefully working on my manga here on my table at my room. I don’t have school today because it’s Sunday.
“What will happen to Kazuki and Chiharu? Roma! Where’s the next chapter?”
“For Pete’s sake, Caden. That’s enough for now. Just wait ‘till next time,” I replied annoyed.
As usual, the stupid jerk was also here in my room to annoy and bother me.
“No more?” he asked.
I heaved a sigh out of anger then aggressively stood up from my seat. Then I went to him with my hands on my waist.
“Hey, you. You’re really shameless, huh? Who told you to stay here at my room?” I grunted.
“Technically, this is not your room,” he replied while touching the pillow.
I rolled my eyes at him and crossed my arms against my chest. “For heaven’s sake, get out of here!”
Caden wasn’t moving like he heard nothing. I felt irritated so I grabbed his arm and pulled it with force and strength.
“Get out!”
But he’s heavy and seemed like making himself heavier for me to have a hard time to pull him away. He’s like a leech stuck on my bed!
He suddenly moved while I’m still holding his arm so he had pulled me towards him accidentally. I was startled when our eyes met while I’m on his top.
“Roma?”
I felt awkward after Caden said my name so I quickly get off him.
“I-It’s your fault! Why did you pull me? It would be better if you’re doing a move now to make Kiara as your girlfriend,” I insisted.
“Speaking of Kiara. We had a date yesterday!” he beamed.
I smiled, “Really? So, you’re dating now?”
“Not yet. I can’t confess my feeling yet.”
The smile on my face has faded away then I wrinkled my forehead. “Huh?”
“Because I want it slowly but surely.”
“Slowly?! We only have a year before our wedding. Slowly?” I fumed.
“Don’t worry too much about it. I can manage this. I’ll make sure that before you turn nineteen next year, Kiara will be my girlfriend and everything in our treaty will be done. Trust me, okay?”
“Just make sure, okay?” I warned him.
“So, you don’t have any manga updated today?”
“No more. You can leave now.”
“You’re really so grumpy,” he complained.
After that, Caden get off my bed and head out my room. I really don’t get this guy. He’s bothering and annoying me here like he isn’t busy with his life at all.
--
I stopped drawing for a while to take some rest. My hands and eyes were already a bit tired and sore anyway.
I stood up from my seat and decided to go to my balcony. I opened the sliding glass door to go to my balcony and I can see our entire street over here. The blow of fresh air feels good to my skin because it feels cool and to my lungs as I breathe it in.
When I looked below, I saw Caden at the gate like he was peeping at it. And when I glanced outside the gate, I saw Kiara and she was walking her dog, a shih tzu.
A smirk formed in my lips when I realized that the stupid jerk was peeping at his crush.
I decided to went down stairs and go to Caden just to annoy and tease him. Then after reaching him, I thought of startling him.
“Wah!”
Caden flinched, “What the—”
I cackled out loud after seeing Caden’s reaction. Seems like he has seen a ghost.
“Roma!” he rasped.
“Why? Did I interrupt your fantasizing about Kiara?” I mocked.
Caden wrinkled his forehead at me.
“Why? I’m not wrong, right?” Then I also peeped at the slightly opened part of the gate and saw Kiara while walking her dog. She’s wearing a pink shirt and white shorts and slippers.
Kiara’s house was just nearby here. Their house was that mansion painted in pink and white with a red-colored gate that was a few blocks away here.
“Why don’t you just approach her instead of just peeping?” I suggested.
“No. I’m shy.”
“What the. How would we progress if you’re that slow?” I complained.
But Caden wasn’t answering me.
“I’ll just call her. Kia—”
I was startled when Caden suddenly covered my mouth with his hands.
“Sshh! Don’t you dare,” he grumbled.
I can’t talk and I just kept on resisting but he’s strong.
“Keep quiet and I’ll let you go.”
When I calmed down, he slowly let go of me.
I gasped some air. “You wanna die?” I threatened him.
“And why? Whose fault it is?”
“Whatever, stupid!” I grunted then I marched back inside the mansion.
I headed straight at the kitchen to drink some water. But I decided to pick up the mango juice after seeing it inside the fridge. I poured some in a glass and drink it.
I was about to spit out my drink when I got startled by someone who suddenly entered the kitchen.
“Who’s this?” I whispered.
He’s just looking at me with a sight of confusion. But then, he smiled afterwards.
“Roma? You’re Roma Cassandra, right?” he initiated.
I just nodded as a reply.
“Wait, you know me? But who are you?” I queried.
“I’m Chester. Caden’s older brother.”
I was surprised. “Ha? You’re that jerk’s brother? Sorry, I didn’t know.”
He laughed, “It’s okay. I just arrived this midnight from Manila.”
Then Caden showed up.
“Oh, Chester. You’re awake.”
They’re almost the same height. It’s just Caden was inches taller than his brother even he’s the younger one. Their eyes were both small but Chester has a monolid eyes, while Caden has a narrow-almond one.
Chester has a fuller lip than Caden and they have both narrow-pointed nose, and Caden has smaller face. They also have both porcelain fair skin, well-built body, and good posture.
“Ah, yeah. I’m just looking for something to eat. But I found something else.”
Then Chester looked at me with a smile.
--
After preparing myself for school, I went downstairs to have some breakfast. When I arrived at the dining area, I already found Chester having breakfast alone. He looked at me when he noticed.
“Oh, Roma. Good morning,” he greeted.
“Good morning,” I greeted him back then I went to an empty seat and started to fill my plate.
I noticed that Chester was wearing a uniform. It was a light grey suit and inside it was a white long-sleeved polo, and a red necktie. I don’t know what school it is but I don’t want to ask either.
“I heard that you’ve already staying here for two weeks. So, how is it so far?” he queried.
“Ah, it’s fine. Everyone here is kind to me,” I answered, then I whispered, “except for that one.”
“How’s my brother? Is he kind to you?” he asked and laughed slightly.
“Eh, your brother is a jerk. I’m sorry, I know he’s your brother. But I’m telling the truth.”
Chester laughed, “Is that so? So, it means you hate him?”
I thought for a while, “I can’t say that I hate him. Hate is a big word. I think the right term is dislike.”
“Yeah, you have a point. So, why do you dislike him?”
“I feel irritated as soon as I see his face. He’s annoying even if he’s doing nothing, and yet he’s so good at pissing me off.”
Chested cackled at what I’ve said.
“So, that’s how you think of me?”
Our attention was caught by Caden the moment he arrived. He’s also ready to school and he sat down here with us.
“Yes, that’s right,” I answered.
Caden sarcastically laughed, “I felt more inspired to annoy you.”
I widened at my eyes and gave him a glare. “Even if you don’t put an effort, your face was already too much.”
“Yes, too much gorgeous.”
I glared at him and formed a fist towards him, then he flinched while laughing.
“I need to go now. Roma, would you like to come with me?” Chester offered.
“Oh, is it okay with you?” I replied.
“Yeah, of course.”
I was about to stand up when Caden spoke.
“Wait, Chester.”
We both shifted our gaze at him.
“You should go first. We’re going somewhere before heading to school,” Caden told him.
I was surprised and confused from what he stated.
“Is that so? Okay. I’m leaving,” Chester bade before leaving.
When we realized that Chester has completely gone, I spoke.
“Hey, you. What did you say earlier? Where are we going?”
“Just be quick if you don’t want to be late,” he blurted.
“Ha?” I felt more confused.
“Just do it.”
After that, we head out the house and went to Caden’s car.
“So, where are we heading to? You’re not yet answering me. I don’t want to be late at school,” I queried while we’re already on the way and Caden was driving.
“Nothing. It’s just an alibi.”
I wrinkled my forehead. “What? But why?”
“Because you’ll just be a bothersome to Chester. He’s going to Calamba so it’s just a hassle for him if he’s going to drop you off to your school,” he explained.
“Ah. . .” I reacted while nodding my head.
He got a point if Chester was going to a school somewhere in Calamba.
“I don’t know that you like wearing something like that.”
I looked to what Caden was talking about. He meant was the hair ribbon at my half-ponytail-styled hair.
“So what? It’s only the hair accessory that I have.” Besides, this is important to me.
I heard him chuckled. “I thought that you’re not that type to wear something like that—”
Then I slapped him on his arm, and he groaned because of that while laughing like a lunatic.
