Chapter 8 - You should be mine!

Days has passed and everything was still the same in Layla's life, the struggle of getting a job,the stress of not paying her tuition fee and the never ending problems that kept getting into her way because of that monster.

After getting ready to go to school,Layla went out of the apartment gate.

After getting done with her lectures she came out to hail a taxi but someone stopped her by calling her name.

"Layla!" Turning around she saw Abdallah her best friend's cousin. He's majoring in engineering and a senior to them with a year.

"SalamuAlaikum Abdallah." She greeted as he reached to where she stood

"Waalaikum salam Layla. How are you doing?" He asked with a smile and that showed his dimples. Abdallah was a handsome man himself but in a cute way. He's a free and simplistic person.

"I am doing good alhamdulilah. How about you?" She asked as she glanced to her side before turning her attention back to him.

"I am good Layla. I want to talk to you about something. Lunch?" He nervously asked. Layla wanted to reject him as she had so much to deal with but in end the she complied.

"Okay." They walked to the school cafeteria and Abdallah ordered food for them.

Not far away from where they sat, Alfred reported to Azeem on his Bluetooth earpiece as he observed them : "They seems pretty close, like they have known each other for so long. I heard his name is Abdallah Fahad"

"Switch on the spy cameras." Over the Bluetooth earpiece, the man commanded in a cold and fierce tone.

"Oh, oh, right Master. I almost forgot I had those!" Alfred hurriedly grabbed his laptop from the bag he kept by his side .

Fiddling with the laptop he said to Azeem

"Master, give me a moment, I'll stream the video to you with my phone!"

Alfred hadn't even finished speaking when he suddenly found that his laptop wasn't responding. His expression immediately darkened as he tapped his laptop twice but he came to realize the next moment "Master had actually hacked into my computer... I told him I would use my phone to stream the video."he lamented and went back to his work.

"So what is it?" Layla asked sipping her cola.

"Oh I am here to offer you something." She nodded and he continued

"I want to pay for your tuition fees."

Without giving much thought she immediately rejected him

"No"

He dropped his fork to ask

"Why?"

" I don't want to be a bother to anyone."

"Layla they won't allow you to write your exams." He worriedly reasoned and Layla calmly replied as she popped a chip in to mouth.

"I know and I will try to pay before that." She has finally made a decision to pay her tuition with the last amount of money her patents left.

After that she'll figure out the rest.

Seeing how adamant she seemed to be,he decided to change the topic.

"How is psychology treating you?" He asked about the course she's majoring.

"Do you believe in the psychology that says whatever you imagine or thought of,exist?" Layla took him off guard with her question and Abdallah sheepishly smiled to say.

"This is tricky,Rather I believe in whatever my mind can realistically imagine, it can conceive, then I can achieve."

"Hmm this is surely something else." She pointed her chips towards him before putting it into her mouth.

"Lol... Why did you bring up this theory?" He asked as he scratched his neck, though his cousin Aysha declared herself and Layla dumb. But he could see the opposite of that here.

"Well it fascinate me that all those fantasies one could think of. Exist? Those fairytales, those myth, those lengends, those mythologies?" Her voice came and that brought him out of his thoughts.

"Or like in physics.like charges repel away from each other while unlike charges attract, until now I didn't grasps or experience the reality behind this context. Do you perhaps got any idea about what it is?"

"Hmm"he hummed as his forefinger drum on his chin in an thinkable manner.

"The simplest way I can put this is the yin yang theory " he explained before sharing another of his thoughts.

"It's just like synergy... It exists better in male and female, good and bad, peace and chaos"

"About the like and unlike charges.?"she asked

"Well in my opinion these are things you create a room for to happen... You know how Cinderella didn't had to go to that party to be found by the prince?

I don't think if she stayed at home he would have found her even though he still later came to her home and get her"

"Okay in my opinion.it fall into what is called circumstance. If she happened to not go to the party, the prince would definitely or unavoidably meet her at a different place, different cause of event and because of a different circumstance." The happy glint in Layla's eyes cannot be mistaken. How she seemed happy sharing her thoughts out tore the heart of Azeem who was watching them through the spy camera Alfred set.

Abdallah quickly picked from where she stopped

"You have a solid point here. But the prince would have found another girl at the party... Do you still think Cinderella would have had a chance at home?

"It could be this way but what heart wants tend to play a major role here. He might not have that moment where your heart extensively beat and have butterflies in his stomach when he meets another girl. Unless Cinderella"

Abdallah gave her a smile and shook his head, well he can't beat her at her own game.

"okay how about this. They say when a person could not sleep,he's awake in someone's dreams." Seeing him mute Layla shared another one of her researches

"This is fascinating, how?" He enthusiastically asked and that made Layla to adjust her sitting position

"Okay. It is like when someone is staring at you."

She raised her five fingers.

"One,two, three, four to five seconds you will feel and turn to look directly at that person right. This is indeed undeniable and I experienced it too many times to mistake it. No matter what! You're going to look at that particular person without any change of cause. So because of this I believe in the psychology that if you can't sleep then you are awake in someone's dreams. There's like an invisible link to that. Why is it you get to meet someone you never know in your dreams.?"

Abdallah sheepishly grin because he had no answer to her next question so he tried to save himself.

"You know the psychology you're studying is more visible in you now than ever. I had to go to Google right now to understand the meaning of psychology better."

"Really?" Layla asked and sipped her almost finished cola

"Wallah like how could someone bring excellent points back to back this late afternoon I had to dig deeper." They both chuckled and Abdallah's voice came to add.

"Do you know what sapiosexuality is?"

Layla raised her head with a frown on her brows to say

"No"

"It's the state of being sexually attracted to intelligence or the human mind."he shared and his face stretched into a smile to continue with his words

"And you know what?"

she shook her head "No"

"I'm a sapiosexualist and if you keep behaving this smart then I think my end is here.". Her fingers that held the straw to her drink slacked off and her cheeks suddenly tinted themselves pink.

Chuckling slowly he stated

"Hmm My offer still stand, don't come back later"

"The offer is limited"

"Why is it not unlimited". Layla managed to ask with her cheeks still pink.

"Precious things are rare and limited just like you are."

Flabbergasted, her blue eyes darted left and right

"Don't know what to say"

"For now, I'll take it as the most appropriate thing to say to be honest,"

After spending her afternoon with Abdallah and evening in the library where she read for her exams Layla made her way home.

Closing the gate she turned to get inside but saw a figure opposite her.

"Ya ilahi!" Layla screamed and placed her hand to her chest to pacify her rapidly beating heart.

"I was looking forward to seeing you,you should be mine Layla." Azeem smiled and raised his leaning figure from his position to walk to where she stood

"And that will save me the hassle of getting here to see you."

She glared at him and adjusted the strap of her bag

"I am not a property for you to own."

Layla frowned her face

"If we are meant to be,we will be. If we're not then we will not.we shall part please"

He smiled widely till his fairly white aligned teeth showed.

"You keep appearing in my heart like advertisement on a television. So how do you expect me to not want you."

His shoes made a crack sound as he stepped on the dry leaves that spread around the compound

"I kept my distance but you still catch my eyes. You're enough to drive a saint to madness or a king to his knees"

Frowning her face with disgust over his words, she looked up to his eyes but suddenly she took a step back with how the look in his turned into something unforeseen, into something maniac.

"Why did you meet him Layla.?" Her eyes narrowed 'is he talking about Abdallah? How did he knows. Was he stalking me?'

Sending another heated glare to him she uttered

"Don't people usually have evidence to back them up,when they ask rude questions like this? Like physical proof or witnesses or at least a police badge."

"You're right,I was very rude. Wasn't I?" He raised his brows and he said his next words which lacked the meaning

"I am sorry".

"I don't need your empty apology."

"Okay then I will gladly hold my apology.why did you meet him"

"Why are you asking me this question?,you have no right to know."

"I asked because I have right to do so. You're my possession."

"Ha! Possession? How did you even own me."

"Because I'm in love with you." He stated with a shrug, not getting fully into what the word love meant.

"This is not love, you nothing about love."

"Well this is what love means to me Layla. Don't let anyone near to you if not you are risking that person's life because that someone else will be heartbroken to die by my hands."

"Keep in mind I am not that kind of a patient person." He slowly whispered to her and with that he walked out,got into his car and drove away leaving her to her thoughts.
