As I settled into my first year of medical school, I ran into Zack unexpectedly in the hallway.
"Hi, Aphrodite ! How's it going?" he asked, a warm smile on his face.I was surprised to see him, but happy to catch up. "It's going well," I replied. "I'm really enjoying med school so far."Zack's expression turned curious. "Medicine? That's not something I ever really saw you pursuing before. What made you interested in it?"
I thought for a moment before answering. "I think it started when I was in high school, I'm fascinated by the human body and the ways in which it can be healed. But my true passion for medicine started when i was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome . I struggled with the illness and saw firsthand the impact that skilled doctors and medical professionals could have on his health and wellbeing. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine so that she could help others in the same way. I wanted to be part of a profession that could make a real difference in people's lives and give them hope for a better future. For me , studying medicine was not just a career choice, it was a calling.
Zack nodded, taking in my answer. "That's really interesting. I never knew that about you," he said. "But actually, I've always had an interest in medicine myself."
