Chapter 11 - NIGHT IN THE CLINIC

Oliver was about to turn back when Markus came to the side and pulled my dress down to cover my thighs. I blushed at his action while I saw an evident frown on Oliver's face.

"Paws off Heady." Oliver warned Markus with a frown.

"Relax Ollie. Let me lead you to the clinic before she passes out." Markus said seriously as he caressed my cheek.

Markus started walking towards a forested path and Oliver followed while calling out my name like he was trying to keep me awake. I passed out just as we entered the clinics fancy yet old looking doors. When I woke up it was half passed six pm. I looked around the small room and saw Dr Buffers who was scribbling on a notebook.

"I see you are awake Ms Rogers." he said looking up to glance at me.

"Where's Ollie?" I asked feeling weak so my voice was no more than a whisper.

"I don't know who you are talking about but if you mean Mr Rogers then he is outside with the Dupree boy."

Something doesn't seem right to me. Why do these people show more respect to Oliver and I and not Markus who is the head boy?

"Could you please ask him to come in, with Markus." I said as politely as I could in a raspy voice.

He didn't respond to me immediately and instead pit a monocle over his left eye and he picked up one of the most frightening syringes I've ever seen in a clinic. It looked like it was meant for animals and not humans! I watched him as he put a needle in front of the syringe and he squeezed out some of the cloudy white liquid until it reached a certain mark.

"Where.....where is that going?" I asked him with an awkward smile that he frowned at.

"Buttocks Ms Rogers."

He said it as a command and not as an answer to a question. He proceeded to get some cotton and dipped it into a bottle of alcohol. I rolled onto my belly and shyly pulled up my dress before moving away the simple bed sheet to expose my flesh to him. He moved closer to the bed with a cotton that had been dipped in some alcohol and he dabbed it on my butt. I shut my eyes when I felt the cold needle touch my skin and a second later it had punctured my skin and I screamed.

I felt the liquid slowly sipping under my skin and for a second the pain seemed to have lessened. After he was done, Dr buffer's removed the needle from my body and put it on the table that was at my bedside. When he went out of the room I covered myself with the bed sheet and after a minute the door opened and Oliver and Marcus came into the room with worried expressions on their faces. "Are you right Vee?" Oliver asked me.

Markus had a deep frown on his face and his forehead had lines of worry as he looked at me.

"We should get you a blanket because this place gets really cold at night." Markus informed me.

After we spoke for a while Markus left to go and get me a blanket to keep me warm through the night while Oliver stayed with me.

"Don't look at heady like that." Oliver said grinning down at me.

I frowned at him and his grin grew wider than before. I rolled my eyes at him and he started laughing. There was a knock at the door and before Oliver nor I could ask who it was the door opened and Sr Drevin walked in. She looked at Oliver like he was a pest that was bothering her then she turned away with a look of disgust. I'm sure she must still be annoyed by how he had said she was enticed by him on their first meeting and with how Oliver is grinning he likes her reaction.

"How are you doing Ms Rogers?" she asked sitting next to me on the bed.

"Better." I said smiling.

"Mr Rogers, you have to attend prep now." she said addressing Oliver.

"Can I be exempted for tonight?" Oliver asked in a sweet tone.

Sr Drevin glanced at him with a frown and he smiled before wishing me a goodnight and leaving. She placed the back of her hand in the crook of my neck to check my temperature then she sighed.

"You might have a fever again. I'll get you a warm blanket."

I stopped her by grabbing her hand because she was about to leave.

"Markus said he'll bring me one. You don't have to go." I said.

"He was here?" she asked narrowing her eyes at me as she asked me that question.

"Yes. He came here with Oliver."

"So you're telling me you got two students to skip classes for you. How selfish of you to take them away from their studies." Sr Drevin said coldly and I felt my heart drop to the floor.

I didn't ask them to came to me. I was unconscious for crying out loud! She got up from the bed and left me alone in my room. A while later a tall boy with a slightly tanned skin walked in with a folded thick blanket.

"Olive Rogers?" he asked and I nodded my head,"This is from Sr Drevin."

"Thank you. You can put it here." I said sighing and pointing to the corner of the bed.

"Sure. I'm a member of the Red Cross Club so she asked me to give you a quick check up before I leave." he said unfolding the blanket and spreading it on my body.

So Sr Drevin had a problem with Oliver and Markus staying with me but she didn't mind bringing another student and making him skip prep. Wow!

"I'm fine. It's not necessary." I said trying to get rid of him.

"I wasn't asking for permission." he deadpanned and my jaw fell at his words.

He said it with such a straight face and he was even smiling! This guy is giving me Christopher vibes. He came close to my head and touched my forehead then he frowned. He took a thermometer and put it in my already opened mouth then he lifted my lower jaw to close my mouth. I glared at him and he smiled at me innocently.

"You're burning up milady." he said and then he took out the thermometer,"Fifty degrees Celsius. And this had to happen when Dr Buffers is on a break."

"Isn't he in school?"

"No. He went back to his place to see his old wrinkly wife." he said sticking his tongue out with a disgusted look on his face.

"What's your name?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Sky Gregory Alan Pierce." he said smiling brightly at me.

"Lot of names for one person." I laughed only to have him frown at me,"Sorry."

"No problem. So you and Markus are a thing?"

A thing? Far from it and with how Sr Drevin is keeping my sweet Markus away I don't think we can even become normal friends. I didn't answer Sky's question and he just nodded like he understood what I was thinking. Maybe my expression gave me away. Sky went out and came back with some medicines in his left hand and a glass of water in the right hand.

"Chew these and then swallow down the bitterness with the water."

"Can't I take them like normal medicine?"

"Nah." he answered smiling as he put the greenish looking medicine in my hand.

He kept the water with him as if he wanted to make sure I wouldn't use it. I had no other choice but to chew it and man was it bitter and a little sour. I nearly spit it out but Sky placed his big palm on my face to stop me. I spit it out either way; right onto his palms. I smiled as I looked at his shocked expression but then he did something very surprising. He stuffed the medicine right back into my mouth and made me look up and I swallowed it.

"There. Was that hard? Here is your water."

I stared at his calm face for a minute and then I took the glass from him and emptied it.

"You'll start to feel sleepy within fifteen minutes. I'll bring you some water to drink when you wake up later tonight and I advise you drink a lot of it a pee regularly." Sky said as he cleaned his hand with a grey handkerchief.

"Where's the bathroom?" I asked.

"Walk out the room, turn right and go to the creepy looking room at the end of the corridor."

Creepy and I don't go well together. Wait a minute! The salt that Elise gave me is in my room!

"Is there anyone else in here?!" I asked panicking.

"Nope. It's just you. Maybe Sr Drevin will come by to stay with you but I don't see her doing such very often." Sky said making my panic skyrocket.

Alone; possibly with Jen! I am really unlucky.
