"Somewhere non-local?" Zhan Qiancheng didn't quite understand what Zhan Yu was saying.
Zhan Yu nodded before continuing, "I want to leave Sheng Jin City, but I don't want to leave the country, either. Life outside the country would be tiresome, and especially lonely if I was left by myself. As long as it isn't Sheng Jin City, I'd be fine with somewhere in the country as well."
"Wait. Tell me the reason first." Zhan Qiancheng said (asked).
"I don't want to be here because I don't want to see Lu Bai," Zhan Yu answered truthfully.
He knew from the book that Zhan Qiancheng was against the two of them being together.
He thought that if he told him he wanted to leave Lu Bai; Zhan Qiancheng would help him no matter what.
Zhan Qiancheng thought deeply before asking, "You still like him?"
"No, no!" Zhan Yu frantically waved his hands.
"It might have to do with what I did in the past. I don't remember anything, but I'm sure that what I did brought a lot of problems for me. I just want a peaceful life... a calm one. I'm not saying I want to drop out of school, but I want to learn in a different environmentーin a place where no one knows me or Lu Bai."
When Zhan Yu finished, still aware of Zhan Qiancheng's hesitation, he promised, "Don't worry, brother. I will come back in two years at the longest; that's when I graduate. Mom and dad won't be against it either, that way."
The only fear Zhan Qiancheng had, was that his parents wouldn't agree to this. They treated Zhan Yu like their treasure. Zhan Yu was only leaving for two years to gain experience and forget about Lu Bai.
Zhan Qiancheng nodded in response. "Which city would you want to go to?"
"Which cities are there?" Zhan Yu thought, as if he was asking about different types of food.
Xhan Qiancheng raised his eyebrows. Was his memory the only thing his brother lost?
Zhan Yu seemed to understand his concern and laughed sheepishly.
He had no choice. He wasn't even sure if this world had the cities he knew in his previous one.
In order to disguise how dumb and uninformed he was, he said, "You can make the decision, brother."
"Hmm, then you should go over as an exchange student. That would be the best way."
Zhan Yu nodded again. "Right! Not bad. When can you confirm the date?"
Zhan Qiancheng seemed pensive as he stared at Zhan Yu. "When would you like to leave?"
"The quicker the better" ー Zhan Yu thought about itー"Tomorrow is best. Wait, that feels a bit rushed. How about the day after?"
"Three days from now." Zhan Qiancheng decided to fix a time for his indecisive brother.
"Okay!" As expected, Zhan Yu agreed.
The next day, Zhan Yu went to explain his plans to their parents. Though they couldn't bear to see him go, they eventually agreed, persuaded by the reasons Zhan Yu had made up on the spot.
Zhan Qiancheng was made to prepare everything.
When Zhan returned to school, he heard from Zhong Qin that there were two spots for exchange students to A College. No one knew who was going to arrive.
But Zhan Yu paid little attention to that. He, instead, started to admire Zhan Qiancheng. He was handsome and acted professionally swift!
By the evening, the department notified that besides Zhan Yuーwho was an exchange studentーa senior sister in her third year was able to take the remaining spot.
That senior sister had exceptional grades and was very strong in all aspects. It was understandable that she was admitted.
But what about Zhan Yu? Why was he able to?
When Zhan Yu returned to the dorms, he heard some girls and boys by the staircase who weren't happy about the decision. Zhan Yu softly laughed giving no more than a slight glance in their direction and declaring, "Because I'm Zhan Yu!"
Each and every girl's and boy's face turned sinister and ugly.
Zhan Yu shook his head. He couldn't be bothered to care about what they thought, but he did admit that he often bullied people based on their status.
He had experienced two lives. Since ancient times, no one could choose their background. No one could choose the power they were born into. You were simply destined to work harder and endure more if you weren't lucky at birth.
Zhan Yu couldn't help but laugh. As expected, power and wealth were the good things in life. No wonder people relentlessly chased after them until death.
Zhan Yu packed his luggage when he returned, and when it was time to go, he was seen off by his entire family.
Zhan Yu listened to his parent's ramblingsーmaking sure that he ate his meals on time, that he slept early, and similar rabble. He agreed to everything.
"If you have any problems, call me, or find A College's principal. I've already talked to him," Zhan Qiancheng assured.
"Okay. Thank you, brother."
"Mhm."
As Zhan Yu said his final goodbyes, he felt all manner of feelings swell up in her heart. Other than a slight distaste for the situation, all-in-all, he was looking forward to what awaited him
A new day would shine.
Zhan Yu had only lived in A College for a week, but he was already beginning to think that the quality of life and education here was much better than college life in Sheng Jing City.
In Sheng Jin City, all the students' attention would be on him because of Lu Bai. Even if they'd never forget him, it was only because of everything 'He' had done in the past.
When he was reading the book, he felt like the second male lead always had disaster by his side. But now that he had become the lead...oh, how irritating it was for others to constantly remind you of your tumultuous past!
So, the change in environment made him feel amazingーbeautiful, even.
Zhan Qiancheng already talked to his departments' teachers and A College's principal, so they all took care of him. The students also occasionally helped him out, most likely in order to show him the best of the school's hospitality.
ZhanYu sighed, thinking that this was how a normal school life should be like.
During the first few days following his arrival, his popularity grew quickly. Not only was he handsome, but it was rare that someone like him openly enjoyed learning. Most importantly, he was easy to get along with. He would greet every teacher and peer he came acrossーsweetly, and without ever failing to. Over time, he had left a favorable impression on everyone.
Zhan Yu was incomparably happy. It was a good decision to come to A City! Hid days were bright and fulfilling.
When Zhong Qin called him and heard about how well things were going at A College, he had the urge to fly over and seek shelter there as well.
Zhan Yu , felt that he learned a lot from A College, as he surrounded his self with good, diligent people. He had improved in all manner of ways.
When he moved to A City, he immediately contacted his new dance and piano teacher on his second day there.
His plan was to take two to three hours every night to learn both.
In the past, Zhan Yu never learned how to dance. His movements felt rigid, but since his body was originally the second male lead's, it had already become accustomed to dancing at a young age. Much to his surprise, it wasn't hard to do pirouettes, or even splits and the like.
As he learned, he could feel his senses sharpening when he heard music. He often didn't know what move to do, but it was as if his body made the decision for him.
The frequent praise Zhan Yu received from his teacher made him truly happy.
