Somewhere in the upper layer of the Abyss, a crack in the very space appeared, and a red thing was thrown out.
The 'thing' which was thrown out was none other than Ashura, once human now a Devil.
As he opened his eyes to see a vast expanse of land. The land was purple, and the sky was blood red, with a small lake of lava.The were even some flesh like protrusion which were drenched in what appeared to be blood.The 'blood' on these protrusion attracts creatures, which the vines then grip and absorb using small,needle-like teeths.From the knowledge he got from the Abyss majority of this layer has the same evironment and was covered with same 'plants'.
He also knew that he has become a target now and what he has to do is advance from a hatchling to a Young Devil as soon as possible.
The Young Devil is a stage when a hatchling become fully grown Devil and is also the stage preceding the Lesser Devil stage.
Young Devil is the most basic and most important stage in a Devil's life as it is the stage where it will be determined what type of Devil they will be in the future.As in this stage the Devil purify their bloodline which is mixed with many additional bloodlines.
It must be noted that there is no reproductive isolation between demons and other species. They can breed with with almost anything which is capable of breeding.The bloodline influences those corrupted by to indulge in their desires as it is what The Abyss who made them desire them to be. Because of this demons with various mix of bloodlines populated most of the Abyss.Even many devils have interbred between themselves, which results in situations like Ashura's who has many bloodline mixed in himself. The armored devil he fought had a higher concentration of armored devil bloodline.
The first generation demon were not required to do this as there bloodlines were already pure and they become a Young Devil as they grew.

His musing were interrupted by a loud roar.
Immediately he ducked and hid himself between these flesh like plants and covered himself with the 'blood'.The 'blood' was able to cover his presence.The vines started to wrap himself around him but he paid them no attention. These vines were only able to prey on the lowest of creatures in The Abyss, they were of no threat to him as the 'blood' has no attraction to him neither were the needles were able to pierce his skin nor the vines were strong enough to bind him.
As he lood towards the open area where he was standing he saw a big devil with wings landing on the ground.
All devils once powerful enough were able to have wings or were even able to fly without wings but this devil when evolving to Young Devil choose a winged form.
The fracture in space which threw him out here was directly connected to the top most layer of The Abyss. That layer has a terrible attraction to any creature with a demon bloodline as the whole layer is composed of blood from demons and devils which is an incredible tonic to increase strength or evolving.The eggs sent there absorb that blood and hatch after which they fight for their lives. The losers are left there to bleed filling the ocean for whatever it has lost and even gaining some more and their souls become nourishment for the winners.
The Devils and Demons because of this is filled with this energy wether it is the soul or the body and as they have not evolved they are full and weak.The Young Devils and Demons hunt them because of this. After consuming them they will have an easier time promoting to Lesser Devil or Demon.
As he looked at the Winged Devil another demon came running and roaring on its four legs. It's roar was what alerted him.Demons at this stage were not able to think and were only acting on instinct, even devils were only able to have simple thoughts like when to hunt or when to run etc.
The Demon after seeing that there was only the winged devil and no other demon or devil started to agressively walk towards to devil.
The devil probably had no long range attack method and fighting in a closed range was not his forte as he must have devoted most of his energy when evolving into the wings.So that devil expanded his wing and flapped them and he flew into the sky with a gust of wind. The demon seeing his prey running strated to chase after. How would he be able to catch the prey that was flying well that question is beyond his ability to comprehend.
As they got far from his vision Ashura broke free from the vines but did not emerge but using his claws he started to dig underground.
After taking deep enough he used the soil which he excavated to fill up the whole as the demon are extremely resilient they do not have much requirement for the environment and are able to survive in extremely harsh conditions otherwise they would not even be able to survive in The Abyss.
After making the underground chamber big enough so that after evolving it would be able to accommodate him. He sat down in the middle of the chamber and began to convey his intention to evolve to the Will of the Abyss. The Will of the Abyss has authority over every Devils and Demons specially of the lower rank. If they want to evolve and empower themselves they have to do it with the help of the Will of The Abyss as they themselves are not powerful enough to evolve.
As soon as he conveyed his intention to evolve the Will of the Abyss enveloped him inside a cocoon made by the same energy with he absorb when he was inside the egg. It was the very same energy that The Abyss use to nurture every single Devil and Demon.
After wrapping him inside the cocoon The Abyss gave him choices based on the bloodlines that his body has.
There were many choices like Ice Devil,Lava Devil,Claw Devil,Armored Devil,Icuubus,Plague Devil,etcetera etcetera.
There was even Succubus in the choices which means that he can even become a female which in itself is not a big deal for Devils as there was no concept of gender all together among the Primal Demons. It is because of other species that the concept of gender came to the demons.
As he looked through the choices given to him he thought about his ability he thought about his ability to forcifully and rapidly evolve.
From what information he was able to collect in that short time when was evolving his claw, his ability is able to rapidly change his body according to his wishes but only in abundance of Primordial Abyssal Energy(P.A.E.), which is the same energy which fills the topmost layer of The Abyss and is used to nurture the eggs.
Only P.A.E. was able to allow him to evolve rapidly as when he got his ability is not working properly. As when he was digging his claws were only sharp but not suitable for digging, he tried to make them suitable for digging but it working.
But now that he covered in P.A.E. he would be able to use his ability properly.
"But the P.A.E. is not unlimeted as there is probably a upper limit to the energy otherwise that winged would not be limited in his attacks. "
As he started to choose among he discarded those forms that he was able to evolve on his own like the Claw Devil or the Armored Devil.
He decided that he will try to make his body have sharper claws and good armor.
The only good way to utilize P.A.E. was to either make wings or the ability to use Abyss Magic.
The Abyssal Energy which is essential a downgraded version of P.A.E. is used to perform magic. The demons are able use this energy with the help of special veins which are distributed throughout their bodies.
A Demon is able to convert other energy into Abyssal Energy(A.E.) which is the means which they use to corrupt other worlds. And after mixing that Abyssal Energy with that specific element that are able to use Abyss Magic.
In The Abyss where there is an abundance of
A.E. the demons convert that into the elemental energy but in other world where there is abundant elemental energy they mix it with A.E. and use it to cast magic.
It because the need to convert energy that not just any type of demon can cast any magic.Only magic veins are able to do that. This what created the division between the demons.
After thinking all that and seeing the abundance of P.A.E. he decided that he will try to evolve both wing and the magic veins.
Now all that was left is to decide what type of veins he wants.
"Hmmm"
"It will give me more advantage in melee combat and will serve as a good means to collect souls"
As he confirmed his choice with The Abyss the cocoon pulsed with a intense light and his transformation has began.
